Appearance & Personality

Lazulle is about as short as Elezen will come, yet still looks down on of most other races at 6 fulms. She is slim as her race is known for, concealing the vigorous training she has put her body through. Blue makes its way into most of her features: blue eyes, blue-gray hair, and hints of blue in her gray skin. A blue winding tattoo goes down the right side over her face, over her eye. Her long hair is pulled back, fully exposing long ears that taper to a fine point. She is almost always found in armor of some sort, sword at her side and shield on her back. When she isn't she'll be found in the simple garb of a weaver, almost exclusively at the Weavers' Guild.

Her personality towards others is affable, as she wants to assuage the fears and prejudices many have towards Duskwight Elezen. She is often curious about the lives of those she talks to, but tries not to be too invasive for fear of giving a bad impression. She holds minor reservations for the other races that she will keep to herself, but she struggles to hide her disdain for her distant Wildwood cousins. The same disdain is held for Duskwight who live lives of crime, as they make the lives of their kin much more difficult. While she tries to keep face in the presence of strangers, her temper is quick to break when someone blatantly goes against her morals of what is right. She is not afraid to confront those she strongly disagrees with, and is not quick to back down. She has been humbled time and again from her mistakes, but she still thinks highly of herself and her goals. When she sees someone in danger or need, she will throw herself into whatever problems they face.

She has not walked over the lands of Eorzea for very long, and even now she is still trying to get her bearings for who she wants to be. Her idea of being a hero like those of old mixed with a violent brawl with bigoted Wildwoods in Gridania have lead her to be on edge almost everywhere she goes. This has lead her to almost always wear armor, which isn't an issue while she is in the field. However, even at casual events she will wear armor if not nagged by a companion, and even then will keep her sword at her side. Even when weaving, her blade is only an arms-length away. When not in armor, she is visibly uncomfortable and will fidget with her clothing.

Biography

Childhood

Lazulle was born in the underground Duskwight town of Dorbourne, a place filled with isolationist traditions. Her father was a trader, and her mother a picturesque example of the traditional Duskwight woman. Her sister was born three years after her, and loved tradition as much as her mother. Lazulle was a mischievous and curious child, and dreamed of being an adventurer like in her father's stories. She was taught with the other children of the town in a small school house, and also read books from the surface that her father would give her, unbeknownst to her mother. Most of her time was spent exploring the cave systems near the town with her male cousin Heaveaux.

Teenage

The normalcy of her childhood years continued until Lazulle was fifteen years old. The Calamity brought on an onslaught of earthquakes that collapsed tunnels and destroyed buildings. During the first of these quakes Lazulle and Heaveaux had been in the caves, and Heaveaux was hit by a falling rock. In his last words, he told LAzulle not to give up on their dream to leave Dorbourne and adventure. She managed to get back to town with only minor injuries, and waited in the most fortified part of the town with everyone else. Heaveaux's body was found, and he was laid to rest. Lazulle mourned for almost a year, withdrawing from her childhood friends and interests.

When she turned 16, her mother informed her that she would no longer need to attend school, as she had arranged for her marriage and beginning of adult life. This snapped her out of her depression, and she realized that she really did want to become an adventurer. She prepared her belongings in secret, and the week before her wedding she left. She told no one, but her sister found her as she was about to sneak out of a less-used trade tunnel that survived the quakes. They argued, her sister insisting it was her duty to stay. Not wanting to delay any longer, Lazulle shoved past her sister and ran the rest of the way.

The cave system opened up to the desert of Thanalan, where she found a transport going into Ul'dah. She picked up the blade, a weapon she admired for years in her books, and threw herself into practicing. She also began to learn the art of weaving, seeing the hobby as relaxing and enjoying that her clothes are of her own hand. While finding work was difficult at first because of her heritage, she soon began to make a name for herself and work as an adventurer.

Present

It has been four years since Lazulle left home, and in that time she has only grown more confident as an adventurer. While at first she fumbled with the different customs of Ul'dah, she can now communicate with ease. She travels the city-states of Eorzea, trying to help those in need and make a better name for the Duskwights.
