Liandri Mei

Liandri Mei (Lee-ann-dree May) is a young Miqo'te Seeker of the Sun. She is affectionately known as "Li" although her real name is V'lanya Mei, despite being exiled from the clan at the age of six due to a number of mishaps with magick. She is currently employed under the Free Wing Society. A lewd, manipulative woman, with little idea what she wants from life.

Character

General

Liandri was born V'lanya Mei, of the Vulture tribe. She always had a thirst for knowledge, and if any trade caravans were around, she’d likely trade whatever she could for some books. Inevitably enough, she became fascinated with the void and black magic, beginning to practice what she had learned in the books in her spare time. After a number of mishaps concerning her new found pastime, Liandri was exiled from her clan at a young age – and thus began a life of solitude.
During her time in solitude, Liandri managed to pinpoint an aetheric tear within the Shroud, choosing to place her new, poorly constructed home on top of it. After moons of attempting to get it open – she summoned Kaohastraal, who would now be obliged to her.
Due to her disruptions, however, a small Legion of Lohengarde has found her practices to be rather unnerving, and tried to destroy all her progress. Due to her sheer size, and child-like attitude at this point, one of the individuals bound her will, to ensure she could never reach that capacity again – or did he? Thus, her mind was fragmented into two parts – one being an innocent child she once embodied, and the other…well, is the original proprietor of her body. Kaohastraal and Liandri managed to slay the majority of the unit, though paid a large price.
After traveling through Eorzea for quite some time, the two found a place to stay. After a few moons had passed, the voidtouched found herself kidnapped and tortured with experimental Garlean methods. Through this, the corruption within her, and her aetheric abilities were stunted, leaving her combat and healing prowess useless. Due to the significant lack of aether, she began training in lancing and became a proprietor of a dragon soul and armour through rather manipulative means.
Recent events have caused her to lose her dragon soul, though she still aims to keep the armour, despite lacking the power. She is currently cursed by strange means, with six moons to live (at the time of writing) and is looking for a means to become void-touched again to alleviate her ailment.

Appearance

Liandri stands at 4 fulms 11 ilms, somewhat short for a miqo'te, she has a rather pale skin tone due to the fact she lived inside for her research for a number of years. Despite looking in her young to mid-twenties, her age is somewhat unknown, though speculated to be between nineteen and twenty. She was born the runt of the litter, but uses her small stature to aide her acrobatic and athletic ability. She has a slender frame, and it could easily be seen that she was previously malnourished for a number of years. From first glance, Liandri has fiery red hair, with hints of orange higlights in her hair. She has bright blue eyes at this current moment in time - showing that she is no longer corrupted by the void. On the side of her face lies a previous aetheric tattoo that once glowed purple during the manipulation of void powers, since then is has burned into her face, leaving it to look like a brand. She has a scar across the bridge of her nose, and will likely tell a different story every time when asked about it. Liandri has a small, black tattoo-like mark, circular in shape, with tiny tendrils darting outwards from the ring on her chest. It looks ornate and symbolic.

Personality

Liandri is commonly described as being a fiery individual, and it shows through her actions and temper. She's a very flirtatious individual, especially when concerning attractive male miqo'te. After a life in solitude, and consistent shunning, she's taken to playing with individual's - particularly using them for her own amusement and manipulation purposes. She's ever one to play Devil's advocate, especially when it comes to sexual endeavours and drinking. She has a low tolerance for childish people, despite showing some of those traits herself. She usually wears a rather devious or wry smirk, and is considered a troublemaker.
She has a lot of trouble concerning her lust for power, and believes for that to be her only purpose in life. Despite being drained of the majority of her aether and void corruption, she finds herself still drawn to the void in times of trouble. She is considered a neutral evil in terms of character alignment. She is extremely self-centered and has been known to engage in relationships to better advance herself in terms of power and hierarchy. Although she has an undeniable lust for power, she is willing to work with others, should they not impede her progress or advancement. She is willing to engage in illegal and legal activities, and a practiced liar. She is generally hard to read as a person, and her motives somewhat unknown.
Usually a closed off individual, many do not know her true emotions, nor past. She consistently spins tales of lies and deceit to ensure people do not get close to her, as a relatively closed-off and emotionally numb individual, usually. She believes she has suffered enough without her lust for power, and does not wish for others to get close to her to bring her down further. In that regard, the only individual she would trust with any matter whatsoever, is Kaohastraal - the only individual she would even consider relaying her emotions to.
As being previously sealed away to contain her power, Liandri had two personalities. It is the mesh of these that (at the time of writing) cause her to have a strange speech pattern, ranging from polite to swearing and lewd. She hasn't learned to deal with having one, solid state of mind.

Relationships

Friends

Kaohstraal vas Aeseroix - Liandri's trusty companion. Likely the only individual that knows everything about her. He's there when she needs him. Although she trusts him completely, she cannot help but feel somewhat tense around him, as he's always trying to get her to return to her void-touched powers. Currently training her about Dark Knight's. The two met when she summoned him from the void, and have been inseparable since, they faced an entire Lohengarde Legion together, however, their slight 'defeat' caused Liandri to become sealed within herself. He's watched her grow from a teenager to a young woman, and the two share a platonic love.

U'zhan Tia - U'zhan is most definitely a miqo'te after Li's heart. She met him during a drinking game with some associated from the Morbolvine Clan, and instantly felt compelled to him, being physically open with him since. She enjoys his company far more than any others', and it's quite obvious to those that witness it. She believes him to be the most handsome, and somewhat beautiful miqo'te she's ever seen, both concerning his personality and aesthetics. After time, Li has been finding herself falling in love with the man, the situation only worsening as they spend time together, and even apart. He is currently living with her in The Goblet.

R'shenn Tia - A man Liandri met through Kaohastraal, the two sparred and she was impressed by his fighting style. The two have a very good friendly relationship, despite having a one-night stand, and many comment on how much they look alike. Liandri is always there for R'shenn when he needs her, if it's required, and he's done more than enough to support her. The two are actually estranged half-siblings, despite not actually knowing.

Dante Thalmos - Liandri's ex-lover and her have an odd relationship. Despite still being rather physically drawn to each other, they still spend a lot of time with one another. They have a relationship that could be akin to an old married couple - always making snide remarks to each other, however, they still admit that they love one another. While she still deeply cares about him, she wants to smash his face in the majority of the time.
