She is of average physical strength but makes up for it in resilience and arcane knowledge. Her well-cared for long white hair glimmers with pale blue under the right lighting; a harmonious match with her large blue eyes with seeker slit pupils. The bridge of her nose, cheeks, and shoulders are speckled with freckles obtained from her many days sunbaking in whatever sunny patches she could find in the Shroud. Scars & Markings: --- Mari has no markings. Her skin has few scars as she prefers to keep her distance in battle. Voice: --- Mari's voice is smooth, clear, and deeper than one would expect. Her voice is soft and words are kind, although some of the time this is for ulterior motives. Clothing: ---Mari tends to lean towards cute and fashionable clothes over practicality which has led to more than a few spots of trouble. Most of her outfits are either white or shades of blue. BackgroundBackground Childhood Mari was born into a small Seeker tribe with a less than respectable nuhn who was more fond of coin than of his tribe (honestly, he should have been kicked out). The nuhn tried to sell Mari to slavers when she was just a child but her mother saved her from that fate. They escaped to a small village in the Shroud where Mari grew up and her mother found love in a highlander, later marrying him and her and Mari took his name. Mari rejects her heritage but is admittedly curious and enamoured by seeker customs and allure. 18-20 Mari was engaged a long time ago. Her ex-fiancé was an elezen from a minor noble house of Ishgard who had just moved to the Shroud. On the night they met she intended to get him drunk enough to swindle him out of his money but underestimated his gut. Mari ended up being the one to stumble home but with a new-found friend to keep her relatively upright. After that they were inseparable as their relationship grew and they eventually became engaged. They had a minor falling out when he wished to return to Ishgard with her, a place Mari would find entirely inhospitable and unappealing, so they separated and stayed in touch with letters. Her fiancé’s parents begun pressuring him to marry an elezen noblewoman of their choice. Following this, Mari and him eventually broke off their engagement leading Mari to move Limsa Lominsa to start a new life although it became one of crime as she joined the company of pirates. 20+ Mari unfortunately inherited her birth-father’s love of coin and the draw of piracy was too much too resist. At first glance you wouldn’t assume Mari to be in the company of pirates but underneath her smile and charm is a devious, manipulative, money-hungry pirate. Preferring to stay on land, Mari uses her social graces and charm to enchant diplomats and curious eyes. In doing so she helps keep coin flowing and the Debauchery Tea Party’s (her FC and pirate crew) operations running smoothly and out of trouble. She has a way of getting tongues wagging and can coerce people into sharing their secrets which she sells for a pretty penny.
