Character

General

Koh'te is an adventurer by name, a mercenary by trade, and a hired thug by occupation. Truthfully, his jobs only tend to revolve around guarding people and things, and he rarely leaves the city and surrounding areas. He's got connections to the darker parts of Limsa Lominsa and often does work for, with, and under people that're no doubt dabbling in the illegal side of piracy. His life mainly revolves around working a few jobs he finds, saving money, and going to the Gold Saucer. Where he proceeds to spend it all. Literally. He's found himself unable to purchase a ticket back to Limsa Lominsa multiple times. Each time he's gotten away via pickpocketing or straight-up mugging some hapless rich fellow. They don't need all that money, anyway. He hasn't been caught. Almost, but not quite yet.

Appearance

He's bigger for a miqo'te. More muscular than that usual lean build, a bit over average height but not much. His posture focuses on intimidation, but at this point it's automatic. He's Keeper- pale, with dark hair. Face constantly in a frown. Dressed in typical Limsan attire- he could easily pass for a pirate. He's essentially a pirate- he's crewed before, but he prefers staying on land. His hair is neat, and perfectly combed with too much pomade, which he's proud of, for some reason. Probably thinks he looks cool. He totally thinks he looks cool. All the time. (He's not, actually)

-Te'sae Jinjahl, father. Their relationship is distant. The older Nonh'a got, the more he was drawn to his books. He is a man, lost in time, lost in a tiny library of a home located somewhere in Limsa Lominsa. He doesn't talk much anymore. Last Koh'te heard, his father was writing a book about a a sorceress of storms.

-Koh Galanai, mother. Possibly still alive. Possibly not. He's never met her. She's probably still just as beautiful as she was twenty-something years ago.

History/Timeline

His mother was a (supposedly) forest Miqo'te named Koh Galanai and she was a hurricane. She lived her life like a storm at sea, coming onto land with the force of an army and leaving just as soon. She was beautiful and alluring and mysterious and powerful. She was a goddess of lightning, a queen of wind, an empress of rain.

She came and she went, a mirage. Like a hurricane, she swept into Koh'te's father; a swell of intensity and love and passion. Everything she did crackled with intensity, with lightning. A chance meeting with in a tavern with a shy male Keeper, and the poor soul was swept up in her storms. She owned his heart within the day. The whirlwind carried him through a relationship as full as he could ever dream of, and as fleeting- she was a hurricane, after all. She left, and left behind a baby on his doorstep. No note, no goodbye, no parting words. The storm had passed.

Perhaps she was afraid of the responsibility children bring, family brings, relationships bring. Perhaps she was simply bored of Te'sae Jinjahl. Perhaps Te'sae was just a minor distraction, an affair, a little fun. Whatever the reason, the woman who loved him had left, and with her, the storm had passed.

Koh had made him feel things, and without her, he felt empty. He missed her smile, like the sun appearing through the clouds. Her scent, like the flowers after a spring shower. Her love. Her. Te'sae Jinjahl was small, shy, wore glasses, and liked books. He was from a close-knit Gridanian family, and he had moved to Limsa Lominsa to study with the arcanists. He could hardly start a conversation with anyone, let alone a goddess like Koh. He eyes were like diamonds infused with the power of Ramuh and her lips tasted like the the rain in the early spring.

She was an adventurer or something, a traveler, not staying in one place, not ever. She stayed with Te'sae for a few moons, moving into his small apartment like it was hers'. Te'sae never quite did move on. He was so attached to that one face etched in his memory- he had never experienced someone like Koh, and never would again. He lived in the past and focused too much on what he had known other than what he could know. He thought he saw her in the sky sometimes, at dawn. He devoted himself to his studies, with a preference to for history, and never loved again. He raised the child she'd left. He didn't know how many children Koh had. He knew not what suffix to attach. Koh'te was a fusion of his name and that woman who only existed in his mind anymore.

Koh'te wasn't all that close with his father. His father wasn't good at relationships. He was a man who could only be led, not lead. Koh'te was raised more by the city than by Te'sae. He knew gangs from a young age, street brawling, thievery, dares and fun and that feeling of adrenaline that keeps pumping forever and ever. That once you've got, you can't let go of. Young Koh'te lived for the thrill, lived for the superficial, lived for the odd jobs that he did and the money he earned. Money. Koh'te learned to love money. Koh'te Galanai was a product of the city of Limsa Lominsa, and he had much more of his mothers' genetics than his fathers'.
