Chief Sergeant Osric Melkire (born 11th Sun of the 3rd Astral Moon) is a Lominsan native who found his way to Ul'dah in search of refuge and employment. Driven from his home at the age of twenty, he stowed away on the first ferry to Vesper Bay and was immediately arrested upon arrival. His plea for asylum in exchange for lifetime enlistment with the Immortal Flames was granted; that he bore with him a letter of introduction from a former officer didn't hurt matters, either.

Five years later, Osric now views Ul'dah as his home and has pledged himself to the Jewel of the Desert.
