Character

General

In short, Plajinn is a mysterious wanderer who appears to have a fondness for fighting. One of the few things he will tell a stranger about himself is that at a young age he picked up a lance and never really put it down again. Beyond this, little is known about him, and he does not seem intent on telling just anyone his life story.

Appearance

Plajinn is of average height for a Highlander Hyur, with a rather muscular build. His black hair is messy, as if he gives no care to it at all. Scars cover his body, but there is a prominent one along his face. He has intense green eyes that appear to be constantly analyzing his surroundings. There are almost always dark bags under his eyes from a lack of sleep.

Behavior

Plajinn is emotionally withdrawn, usually keeping to himself. He has an air of arrogance around him, that is noticeable even when he doesn’t speak a word. In conversation he is a man of few words, and his words are often seen as cruel. He is not an entirely incapable of caring, but the people he actually cares about are limited it seems. His voice often sounds tired and uninterested.

Combat

General

Plajinn, being a Highlander, is a physically gifted combatant. He has trained in fighting since he was big enough to hold a lance. He is intensely strong, but is able to move with precision. Being a dragoon, his leaping ability is great. He favors an unrelentingly aggressive style during combat, but is capable in the defense game as well. His greatest flaw, however, is his arrogance. He often will give his opponent opportunities to strike him just to prove a point. This has lead to many injuries over the course of his combat career.

Family

Shanic Arvisu - Plajinn's cousin, and in many ways his foil. Where Plajinn is stoic, and keeps to himself, Shanic is flirtatious and expressive. The two do not see eye-to-eye, but Plajinn wouldn't let anything too severe befall Shanic.

Lover

Plajinn is currently dating Cedane Alvey, a Midlander conjurer who is capable of White Magic. She's also adept at swordplay. The two of them, however, are currently at odds with each other.

Friends

Kelsa Tathdel-

One of the only two people who seems to know anything about Plajinn. She starkly contrasts his energy level. Also, she is one of the only people who he seems to have deep respect for.

Ragnar Eisenberg-

A fellow highlander and the man who invited Plajinn to the Tomial Order. They have mutual respect for each other's combat skills. Plajinn tends to call him "old man" rather than his actual name, however.

History/Timeline

Before Calamity- Show text

Plajinn was born to two Highlander Hyurs in Ul’dah. His father was a member of the Immortal Flames, but was not of a particularly high ranking. His mother worked as a goldsmith, but was not of any exceptional skill. As he often tells people, when he was very small he began training with his father in the art of combat. His father forced him to pick up another skill in leatherworking, as he wanted his son to steer away from combat. Plajinn never found much interest in it, but continued to do it anyway.

While on a mission in Coerthus one day, his father was killed in battle by a dragon. When Plajinn heard of this, he swore he would avenge him by becoming a dragoon. His training intensified even further, and he was eventually discovered by a skilled dragoon who agreed to take him under his wing. His mother protested to this, and Plajinn’s would-be master agreed to deny further training in favor of Plajinn staying home to take care of the home.

Calamity- Show text

When the Calamity struck, Plajinn and his mother tried to evacuate to a safe area. All was going well until his group was attacked by a group of beastmen. Plajinn and a few of the other capable citizens were able to fend off a decent amount of the attackers at first. However, as the numbers kept coming, more and more were able to slip by and kill the less capable evacuees. Plajinn failed to keep his mother safe, and became a lot more socially withdrawn from this day forth.

After Calamity- Show text

Blaming his would-be master for his inability to protect his family and friends, Plajinn tracks down and confronts him. During their battle, he gains the scar across his face. He loses, but the dragoon agrees to train him if he will just calm down. He has completed training with said master, and now works to hone his skills on his own.
