Character

General

In the process of fleeing from Ala Mhigo after the Garleans began their assault, Elijah pulled Renata, a lifelong friend of his, from the rubble of her home, and together they fled to the seaside village where Renata's cousin Eorla lived. But the Garlean invasion changed something within Renata. She went from a joyful, carefree spirit to being distant, cold, and often downright antagonistic. The only people who are not on the receiving end of that are Eorla and Elijah.

Beyond that, Renata doesn't want me to say anything else.

Personality

Renata is loyal to only two people. Her older cousin Eorla Brynn, who she views more as a sister than anything, and her dear childhood friend, Elijah Levesque, who is the only man she allows herself to let her guard down around.

Combat

General

Renata is a member of several Guilds, as she likes to branch out. Her strengths in combat involve magic, knife throwing, and spearcraft. Her weaknesses are swords, axes, and a bow & arrow.

Tendencies

Renata is searching for her cousin, Eorla, who never responded to a letter Renata had sent her. Renata has no reason to believe Eorla to be in danger, as she's certain she would have felt it through their almost sisterly bond, and she makes sure to say so on the posters she's been tacking up around Eorzea. Rena is just concerned because SHE doesn't know where Yor is. In her search, Rena can be found in the residential districts and in Coerthas. However, she did receive word that Eorla is on a pilgrimage. Though Renata could have returned home, she decided to stick around and, much to her relief, so did Elijah.

If your char knows Eorla Brynn, but not Renata, it is perfectly okay to approach Renata ICly saying she looks like someone you know. But be prepared for a reception that is nothing like the one normally given by Eorla. The familial resemblance is very clear, though there are subtle differences between the two women. The physical resemblance is almost the only thing the two women have in common.

Flaws

Renata has her flaws, though she does not show them. Her exterior is almost constantly cold, and distant. She does not trust easily, in fact, she can be almost outwardly antagonistic if approached on the wrong day...but if you're female, she is less cold, sometimes even downright friendly. Sometimes. If you want to know her flaws, you'll have to get to know her. Don't let her exterior fool you though. When she drops the act for someone, that person can know they've got a devoted, loyal friend who will make a mother bear look like a lamb compared to her wrath if those she holds close are injured in any way, shape, or form.

Friends

• Elijah Levesque: Quite possibly the only male alive who can say he knows Renata, having grown up with her. Elijah is the only person aside from Eorla that Renata trusts, and she's always trusted him with her life, even before he dug her out of her smoldering home with his bare hands. He has disappeared as of late, and without his balancing presence, Renata has become slightly more aggressive and prone to lashing out at others.
• Percival Turner: A kindred spirit she met attempting to drown her problems in firewater, Percival tempers her volatility somewhat, and she feels relatively at ease around him.

Acquaintances

• Zy'dala Shen - A young Mi'qote friend of Eorla's whom Renata met while tacking up flyers in Coerthas. A shaky first impression gave way to a common ground. Renata sees much of herself in the young woman, and she demonstrates an almost warm concern for Zy, though it is not akin to friendship yet.
