History

Birth

Rheia was born to a Keeper of the Moon Mother, Realin Nelhah, and Seeker of the Sun father, B'yokho Tia. The story goes that B'yokho Tia of the Boar tribe wished to be the Nuhn but despite all his efforts was never able to best their current breeding male. Instead of accepting his role of Tia the young Miqo'te left to start his own tribe, hoping at least a few huntresses would follow. However, all the huntresses were too loyal to the current Nuhn and crestfallen B'yokho left on his own. INstead of starting a new tribe he instead left the Sagoli and traveled the lands of Eorzea, visiting the various city states and country sides. That is until he came upon Raelin hunting in the forests of Gridania and found himself smitten. The two met and were thrust into a relationship. It was one of passion and fire, but like all fires it burned out quickly. Within only a few months the relationship came to its bitter end, with the two unable to quit bikering over everything. After only a year B'yokho found himself homesick and said goodbye to Raelin to return to his tribe, the female Miquo'te having no interest of following. Much to Raelin's dismay she found out soon after that she was pregnant and nine months later she gave birth to fraternal twins, Rheia and her brother. Keeping to Keeper tradition and ignoring their paternals she named the female Rheia Nelhah and the male Raelin'a Nelhah.

Childhood

Rheia grew up mostly in the company of her twin, with their mother working round the clock for food and their father MIA. To keep her new family fed and sheltered Raelin had to resort to illegal poaching. As a result she was often gone, hunting for game and selling it on black markets. The young Rheia new next to nothing of her father and when asked her mother would keep quiet, often changing the subject. Luckily despite their parents absence the siblings at least had each other. The two made the twelveswoods their playground, learning to fight off monsters at a very young age out of necessity. Her brother was always the better fighter, but Rheia made up for it in magical skill. Even at a young age she found it easy to manipulate the aether around and inside her. Instead of other children the two would make friends with the beings of the forest, from anelopes and opo-opos to even sylphs. At first the beast tribe was wary of the two, but after some dancing and word games they quickly became recognized as friends. It is from them Rheia learned the art of glamouring to change ones appearance. The sylphs were masters at it, easily making themselves appear human and often taking the form of Rheia and her brother to tease them. Rheia picked up on it quickly though, starting with simply glamouring her hair and eyes various colors, to fully imitating the visage of her brother.

Teenage Years

Rheia tried to take after her mother and learn to hunt so she could help Raelin with supporting them. Her brother was much more adept, however, and quickly surpassed her in skill. This was mostly due to Rheia's half-blindness, having been mysteriously struck blind in her right eye at a young age. Instead she resigned herself to the study of magics, learning what she could from abandoned books and her Slyph friends. She was happy with this and happy with life in general, but one day when she was thirteen that was all taken away from her. On that fateful day she had been out exploring and hunting with her brother in the twelves-wood, the full moon their only guide and source of light. It was all they needed. Raelin'a had just made a kill when their followers finally revealed themselves, descending upon Rheia and quickly snatching her up. Her assailants had rushed her from her blind side, leaving her unable to attack until it was too late and they had already grabbed her. Rheia was quickly knocked unconscious by her assailants, her last memory of the night her brother rushing towards her. When she awoke again Rheia was in the hold of a ship, her body bound by shackles. She was surrounded by other female Miquo'te's, most looking to be about the same age as her. Only days after she was captured Rheia was put up for sale in an underground trafficking operation and bought by a wealthy Ul'dahn as a sex slave.

The Escape

Three years were spent working for the whims of her wealthy master. Rheia tried to escape many times using her passion for glamours but was usually quickly caught and brought back, her master having quickly caught on to her powers. The emotional trauma also left her weak and unable to use her magic fully to fight or defend herself. Often Rheia was lucky if she could get a single spell off or change even a single aspect of her appearance. She was kept inside and away from anyone except the servants that tended to her. During those three years Rheia's living conditions were nothing like that of her previous life. She was treated to her own luxurious master bedroom and given her own set of servants and personal chefs. When she was good the Miqo'te would be aloud to wander the fenced in grounds of her masters mansion under the watchful eye of the servants. However, despite how nice it was to her it was still a prison. Her chances of escaping and going back to her life in the shroud were starting to look dimmer with every failed escape plan. Then the calamity happened. In the confusion following Dalamud's fall Rheia finally made her great escape. Rheia traveled back to her childhood home in Gridania only to find it had been utterly destroyed by Bahamut with her family nowhere to be found. She could only assume they had met the same fate as their home. Suddenly she was thrust back out into a shattered world, without her brother by her side for protection.

Current

In the five years after the calamity Rheia has tried her best to get her life back. She still mourns for her dead family and lost childhood, but tries her best to let it not holder her back. Currently she spends her time studying magics, just as she did as a child. She is an avid visitor of the conjurers, thaumaturges, and archanists guilds and spends most her time attempting to mater the three different styles. Conjurery comes easiest to her and enjoys using her powers to heal and help others. Despite being a perpetual student Rheia still finds the time to adventuring occasionally, mostly tagging along with other adventurers and using curing and protection magics to help. Rheia also continues to study the art of glamouring and changing ones appearance and now keeps a constant glamour on herself. At first it was of fear of someone recognizing her and altering her previous master, but soon it just became natural to her. She has many disguises but her favorite is when she makes herself into a lalafell. She likes the form because she finds it easier to hide and remain out of the way when she's small. Having become adapt enough to keep the glamour up at all-waking hours she is now rarely seen as her Miquo'te self.
