Basic Info

Rumia moved to Eorzea after her Tribe was wiped out by the Garleans. Since then she has been offering her services with the Axe/Halberd for folk in need and for the Grand Companies.

History

Early Life

Rumia began life as a young girl called Maral. Her Tribe were an offshoot of the Kha Tribe. The reason for this branch in the fanily, was because of the group's interest to trade and even attempt communication with the Empire. This Ended badly once Doma liberated itself. Once the Garleans discovered that Xaela Tribes were involved in the loss of thier province. Maral's Tribe were first on the vengeful hitlist. Having survived the onslaught, Maral somehow made her way into the heart of the Azim Steppe and reached Reuniion for proper healing. With all her family gone, Maral's heart was full of vengence. Hearing that Ala Mhigo would be the next major event against the Garleans, she booked a ship bound for Eorzea. Sadly she arrvied too late to join the Ala Mhigan front. With nothing else to do and with all the skill of her Halberd at her disposal. She started work as a hunter of man and beast to make ends meat. It was also at this time that Maral changed her name to Rumia. Firstly, to start her life anew. Secondly, she felt the her true name would be too strange for the Eorzean inhabitants to understand The Velius

While resting in Limsa, Rumia was happendd upon by an odd Miqo'te. The name of this Miqo'te was E'rinha Velius. For one reason or another E'rinha took an interest in Rumia's martial might and wished to recruit her as his bodyguard. After some debate, Rumia agreed and a contract was formed. From that day onwards, she was part of the Velius mercantile company.

Her time working as Erin's guard was fun and interesting. If showed her to many places she would otherwise have never been to on her own. It also allowed her to be introduced to many different peolpe, whom she would soon call her freinds in due course. Not long into her time working with Erin, Rumia soon stumbled across a young woman inside the Lynx. The woman had no memory of her past life and was as gentle and innocent as a child, despite her body not being as such. Her name was Eve Velius, brother to E'rinha Velius. For whatever reason, her mind was a blank slate, having missed nearly a decade of her memories. Erin gave Rumia the order to also be Eve's bodyguard as well. To keep her safe from all the would do her harm and to help restore her mind.

It was during this time, traveling with Eve, that Rumia would meet many of the men and women she would call her friends. One such man was Whirlin, the man who would eventually help to restore Eve's lost memories. Another such man was Batzorig Kahkol. Rumia would form a bond with Batz for his vision of uniting the various Xaela Tribes that wandered into Eorzea.

The Necromancer contract

During her time working for the Velius. The group was apporached by someone whom Batz was friends with. His name was Simeon Sibaruse. He approached the Velius with looking for aid with a problem. The Problem being a host of Necromancers had been hold up in various parts of Eorzea and were causing trouble. Rumia, and others, agreed to lend their aid. But soon found the task rather daunting and harder then any could imgine. The contract was soon given to the Grand Companies instead, due to the vast scale of the problem. Rumia, however, was having none of it. She charged, alone, into a Necromancer stronghold within Qarn and brought chaos to the runis. While she was successful in bringing down the stronghold and the undead summoners within, she did not come out unscathed. During the battle, one of the undead, managed to pierce through Rumia's armour. The blow hurt, but the blade was enchanted. The enchantment caused Rumia's natural aether flow to distort, causing pain and delirium. Rumia eventually crawled her way out of the ruins and was rescued by Hartgeim Ubyltuwyn, and was taken swiftly to a medial centre to heal from her ordeal.

Said ordeal did more damge to the mighty Warrior then was expected. Due to the aethereic nature of the blade that cut into her flesh, it meant that from now on, Magic would have extra side effect to Rumia.

Losing a friend

Unfortunately a day came where Rumia would fail in her charge as Eve's protecter. While visiting the Maelstrom HQ for some hunts to take down, her linkshell pinged with the sound of a distraught friend, K'yrisa Makisai. K'yrisa, Eve and E'rinha were under attack in Lower La Noscea. Without a moments hesitation, Rumia rushed to save her friends from harm. Others joined in to help, but all was for not. Eve took and arrow into her heart in an attempt to Keep K'yrisa alive. Worse still, E'rinha had fallen into a river and was taken out to sea.

The event took a toll on Rumia, as she had become close with Eve during her time with her. She grieved for the loss, as it reminded her of the loss of her own Tribe back in the Steppes.
