Sapphira -A sweet looking apple with a rotten core- About
Quick Summary
Physical Appearance
From the base of her spine a long winding tail falls down behind. Rarely keeping still. Strong and shaped into a barbed spade at its tip. Protruding from the side of Sapphira's head would be two blue horns, sharp and thin, pointing directly behind. The same dark blue colour is also seen on her scales and tail. The scales of which adorn her body in patches like most of her kind, forming along her limbs, hips, neck and face. Much to the racial traits of the Auri. Soft, smooth skin with a healthy, creamy complexion is free of scars and blemishes, Though she does have a blue, tribal-like marking upon her face. The kind who can switch her personality depending upon a situation and those present. Ranging from happy and care free, almost innocent. Or she can be calculated and ruthless. Enjoys the company of those from all mannor of backgrounds, ideals and walks of life. Underneath what can come over as a caring woman, is actually a selfish, powerdriven personality. People no more than mere tools to use, friendship a currency to buy these tools. Is quick to break laws and rules, dislikes being held back in what is seen as right and wrong by other people. Civilization nothing but a shackle on the natural evolution of a person. Sapphira will sometimes use laws to her own gains, maybe seen as hypocritical, though in her mind it is exploiting what people have set up. Reminding them why their ways are flawed. Never outright violent by nature, unless pushed to great extrems of rage. Most often coming over as caring and wise, willing to share her knowledge and experiences with any and all. Towards others she can be largely commanding, though more in a motherly kind of way. Sapphira is a Witch, specializing in using runes and glyphs. Conjuring up weapons if need be, through the art of summoning. Mostly she focuses upon malediction, to weaken or control her opponents. How effective this is depends upon the willpower of her victim. She can also use her glyphs for positive actions, such as healing or removing curses and hexes from someone. Her main goals are to gain more knowledge, learn new glyphs and runes. Become stronger at wielding them. Likes to explore old ruins or seek out ancient tomes which she can study and learn from, anything to better herself and her understanding of history and teachings.
Like with many of her kind, Sapphira came from the far easten continent of Othard. Spending much of her time out in the wilds and wandering around. Her mother was part of a group of what most would see as Wood Witches, practicing all kinds of magics away from civilisation. Even venturing into the realms of what would be frowned upon or even against the laws. Although this Coven would do things deemed immoral and illegal, their only goal was to push the boundaries of magics. Seeking to be able to protect their realm by using powerful and unconventional means. Sappphira was raised within this group, thus had an appreciation for all things magic. All faucets of Aether manipulation were fair gain and to be used. Never developing a concept for what is right or wrong with it. Her only goal, as with her 'Coven', was to study, perfect and explore. At a young age she was taught some minor spells and incantations through different diciples of magic. The one which she found most facinating was using runes and glyphs to forge spells. Mostly lured by the way they can influence a persons fate, mind and physical being. Sapphira developed her knowledge and abilities. Able to turn the very elements towards different uses. Healing, malediction and fotification. Upon reaching her later teens, Sapphira was put on a harsh test. A rite of passage into adulthood. One which tests her endurance, cunning and knowledge. Upon completing these trials, Saph was given the tattoo marking which can be seen around her eyes. It was also around this time where the Auri began fleeing their homes and seek shelter within the west. Seeing it as an oppertunity, the young Aura and her mother saught to cultivate themselves. Dress appropriately amongst civilised beings and pick up their mannerisims. Being quick learners they managed to integrate themselves with some ease. Sapphira's mother was slain, along with many others of her Kind by the Ishgardians, who believed the Au Ra to be kin of their racial enemies, the Dragons. Sapphira fled from the north and managed to seek solice and sanctuary within The Shroud. Continuing her legacy from the east, study of magics no matter the source. Seeking to ever better herself. Yet more importantly, undertake a quest which was given to her mother... Sapphira, while might appear as a Red Mage, is more akin to the diciplines of a Scholar or Arcanist. Having no direct influences like those from the diciplines of Conjury or Thaumaturgy. She carries a sword at her hip. Its flat edge has been inscribed by many runes, each one calculated to precision on their angles and lines. Not only is her sword used for a last line of defence, it also serves as a easy and readyily accessed tome (like Arcanist/Scholar use). Only through using the likes of runes, sigils and glyphs is she able to weave a spell. Aether is channeled through the inscription, following a specific and perfected pattern, slowing or speeding up the Aetheric flow going through a chosen marking to weave a spell. These markings are all of a different style, while some might look near a mirror image to another, they would have at least one tiny, barely noticeable difference. Even one line or curve being a fraction longer than the other. She would seem to carry a focus, again similar to what a redmage uses in conjunction with a sword. Closer inspection would view it to be made of a strong glass, protected by a guilded web. Within a dark, crimson liquid can be seen sloshing around. Smearing its side with a thick red cloud. Voidblood. Using it as a means to further absorb Aether from her surroundings and channel into the glyphs along her sword. Not only being able to cast spells, but imbue her sword with an element if need be. When fighting with her blade, she adopts the stance of a duelist, relying on quick, agile legwork to dodge and weave. If needing to have her blade come incontact with a weapon, her strength wouldn't allow for a direct block, instead having to angle her blade to deflect or parry a blow. Giving her a moment to dance out of the way of her attack. Hoping to wear her opponent down until she can deliver a deadly bite. (( The best way to describe her use of Glyphs etc would be to think of an electrical circuit. With aether being the electrical current. The electricity passes through the circuit, in a specific direction at calculated speeds and voltages in order to power something. As for her void-blood 'phylactery' should be considered as a battery, giving an extra and recharging supply of Aether for her spells. This doesn't mean she has an endless supply of Aether, the blood within the vial does need to be replaced. The stronger the void-creature, the stronger her spells will be.)) Some of these rumors are untrue, speculation, or are greatly exaggerated. Please feel free to add your own rumors under the Player Character category!
