With her surname already decided for as Bleimoenwyn, her first name was given to reflect the strong tenacity of a willow tree alongside her dark reddened skin - Rhotwyda. Her family was a small, somewhat secluded three group clan deep within the mountains that still cling to the tradition that the flames of mountains are gates to the underworld. This group consisted of a merchants, warriors, and traditional mystics. Her family was of the mystics. From birth, she was expected to learn to carry on the tradition of standing over the mountains to keep the spirits from entering the world of the living again. Her teachings came from her parents, a conjurer and a thaumaturge, and her lessons only consisted of what she would need to know for such a future; she spoke only the native language of a Roegadyn and did not learn how to read or write. When she was about five cycles old, her father began her training with the beginner spell Stone. This prompted the knowledge of two things: one, she had a very low affinity for magick, and two, she would much rather smack someone with her cane. Her father was patient and resilient, Scarlet was not. This bored her and on many occasions she asked her father why throwing a stone was not more preferable than casting a spell - not that her aim was any better than her spell casting. Where her father was understand, her mother was strict. At eight cycles, Scarlet's mother tried to teach her the basic fire and ice, having about just as much luck as her husband.
