In terms of garment she tends towards loose garbs of earthern colors, largely unrevealing and of the most modern materials she can afford. Accompanying whatever modest clothing she wears is an armored brace on her right knee; the brace is clearly fabricated with Garlean metallurgy techniques and the inside is buffered with black wool. The brace can be connected to a body harness for more security; the over-clothing variant of which she can hang tools or weapons.

To understand Sera's approach to combat one first learns her technological doctrine. Stationned in the far and near easts for a large part of her military career she came to idolize their warriors to some extent, for they wholey used their skill and strength to achieve effects as powerful as any mage could. Due to her Garlean blood her ability to manipulate aether around herself has always been greatly stunted, so such ideas of internal strength intrigued her. Thus her dogma became "augmentation over replacement", creating devices for herself that did not remove the need for a user's skill or strength but augmented their ability to use those skills. As she'd likely never get the chance to train among men of skill whether they be the Fist of Rhalgr, Shinobi, or Samurai she created her own martial school as a project of self fulfilment. That said, everything was still in its planning staged when her redeployment lead to succession.

Nobility always houses some eccentricity, wealth and power giving ways for the well-to-do to indulge in things the common man could not or would not. This is even true beyond Garlemald's iron curtains, high ranking officials military or civilian rarely fail to exploit their power for their own personal pleasures. This was the circumstance that Sera was born in, the bastard child of some unknown Garlean official and his harem of exotic aan 'workers'. More over the children were seperated from their mothers and given to whatever fate ended them. Serani, by unfortunate luck, had a strange talent for exploiting the eccentricities of those of high-office. She won't let his name on her lips yet a wealthy patron did save her from life in the gutter. She was adopted and given citizenship by false identity as the child of his own mistress. All as payment for her service, she was educated and raised adjacent to men of moderate standing. When she outgrew his tastes Sera was free to pursue her education and career with her scorned and solitary position.

Despite prejudice for her circumstance, her military career was escalated quickly by her raw talent for the material aspect of the world. Technology both mundane and magical was something she could grasp with an almost innate understanding. She rose within the lower architectus ranks and took the name Serani kir-Reynsholt as a mark of her skills, yet the circumstance of her life still kept her from rising into a position of command. Returned to the provinces with her deployment, she recognized not where in the world she was. Never would she come to know a homeland other than the false childhood in Ilsebard.

More vagueries follow in her accounts of her career after deployment. Whether she truly doesn't know or if she merely feigns loss of memories, Serani was wounded and left for dead in 'barbarian' territory. This fate is the only thing of her self-made story that would have physical evidence and actual documentation. By whatever machinations had her abandoned she had ended up far outside imperial borders and surviving on her instinctual understanding of the physical world. She was for a time a hermit in the hills hunting with her rifle until munitions ran out and then with knives, spears, and whatever rudimentary weapons she could fashion. When the Eorzean adventurers found her, dispatched by a village's rumor of some beast poaching their lands, she was far gone from the imperial engineer she once was. Wounds were cauterized with the power of her weapon, damaged knee braced with a rudimentary construct fashioned from her armor, and her body half-starved from the isolation.

Though quite obviously taking after her mother as a Miqo'te, sporting a pair of cat-like ears and tail, her other half manifests quite clearly in physique. She is taller and stockier in frame than most catfolk with a height around 5'9". Her musculature is also much more pronounced and her eyes for the most part have rounded pupils with odd-colored irises; ocean green with flecks of silver and gold. Her canine teeth are more pronounced than a Hyur's but not large enough to be of non-aesthetic use like a true Miqo'te might have. Her hair was peremenantly bleached nearly white some time ago with few golden strands remaining, yet she is fond of covering up the milk-cream color of her hair with vibrant dyes. The color and style of her hair thus greatly varies dictated by her moods.

Her body has accrued a number of scars over her years, with one particular scar near her neck decorated with tattoos that run from there down her left arm making up a full sleeve. A large patch of skin from her left eye down her neck marks where once was a much more grievous burn scar. Apart from the tattoo bleeding from these scars and across her shoulders, other modifications have been made to accessorize her body. Accenting the darker freckles across her cheeks there is a silver stud on the left of her nose, as well as a stud in her right brow. Three tight rings adorn her left ear; the extent of her visible piercings.

In terms of garment she tends towards loose garbs of faded colors, largely unrevealing and of the most modern materials she can afford.

Cheap peach wine. With the cheaper the being the better.
Magitek. While she lacks internal aetheric talent, she makes up for with external power.
Couches. There is no greater place to catch a nap.

Every adventurer and hero has their own iconic equipment, yet as self-made as Sera is and with her engineering prowess she relies little on relics or stories blades and more on her own creativity to fight. Among her physical equipment she has fashioned weapons, armor, and accessories for herself oft entirely by herself or by combining other objects she's obtained.

the Actuator. When her knee was first crippled Sera had fashionned a splint/brace construct of her Imperial soldiers' uniform. Further augmenting the framework with fabricated materials and functional magitek she's restored her crippled knee to full mobility and added further functions to augment her combat techniques.
the Shield-gauntlet. Both a defensive peace of her armor and a central interface for her arsenal, her left handed gauntlet is an unassuming bracer that houses her magitek interface and a small scale barrier generator to act as a shield if she is engaged in melee.
Terror-byte. Another creation with a history among the spare parts she survived with after her succession from the Empire, this 4-rotor drone has the same functions as an unarmed surveilance bit common in Imperial installations. With additional attachments the drone can anchor itself to act as an automated turret similar to those made by the Skysteel Manufactory.
Mongondol type-4. Reforged from the same metal as the gunblade she once wielded for the empire, the saber is shaped similarly to Doman blades but with a western-style crossguard and a lesser curve to its spine. The crossguard folds forward and locks the blade and scabbard together, requiring interface from Sera's gauntlet to activate the weapon's functions. The scabbard itself has a trigger assembly and external cartridge magazine like a firearm but no apparent barrel.
Tensohoku. In her tinkering she once fashionned a rudimentary pistol. With time she refined the design into a high caliber revolver, a snubnose centerfire gun with threading to accept an extended barrel attachment. While lack of the proper powders in Eorzea means she infrequently uses the weapon it's been a companion since her service in the Imperial Army and she keeps it with her at all times.

To understand Sera's approach to combat one first learns her technological doctrine. Stationed in the far and near east for a large part of her military career she came to idolize their warriors to some extent, for they wholly used their skill and strength to achieve effects as powerful as any mage could. Due to her Garlean blood, her ability to manipulate aether around herself has always been greatly stunted, so such ideas of internal strength intrigued her. Thus her dogma became "augmentation over replacement", creating devices for herself that did not remove the need for a user's skill or strength but augmented their ability to use those skills. As she'd likely never get the chance to train among men of skill whether they be the Fist of Rhalgr, Shinobi, or Samurai she created her own martial school as a project of self-fulfillment. The task of self-learning is indeed an apt way for the less socially inclined Sera to continue her education in all fields.
