But while she was learning to become a fine lady and a respectable conjurer, she was also secretly learning how to sneak through shadows, pick locks, gather information, and wield a pair of daggers. By the time she was 12 years old, she already knew that the life her parents had planned for her was not the one she wanted. As she grew older, she hid more and more of herself away from the world, until the woman known as Solenne Lagarde in polite society was only a pale shadow of the real Solenne. Upon reaching adulthood, her dreams became reality, and she began to secretly engage in dangerous and daring exploits under the alias "Lady Winter." She led a team of adventurers on rescue missions to Ishgard, infiltrating the city and smuggling out dozens of so-called heretics condemned to die at Witchdrop. When the death of her best friend and co-leader brought these missions to an end, she turned to smaller intrigues and adventures in the Black Shroud to ease her boredom. Eventually, she joined the Mythril Wings, a La Noscea-based free company devoted to the pursuit of knowledge, the betterment of the world, and the protection of the weak. She then unveiled her secret life and showed Eorzea her true colors. No longer is Solenne Lagarde merely known as a wealthy Gridanian socialite, businesswoman, and conjurer. Now she openly embraces her role as a leader in her free company and a force for positive change in the world.</div>

GENERAL INFORMATION

APPEARANCE

Solenne's natural lankiness is softened by gentle curves and the lithe grace of a dancer. She is of medium stature, neither standing out from a crowd nor becoming lost in it. There are few visible scars or blemishes on her fair skin. Her hair exhibits her playful individualism: since her adolescent years, she has been dying her pale blond locks a distinctive shade of smokey blue with frosted highlights. Her eyes are also blue and usually accentuated with smudged black eyeliner and light blue shadow. Her lips are typically stained a soft cherry-red shade. Her face is heart-shaped, her mouth generous, her eyes keen and tilted up at the outer corners. She often appears to be smiling ever-so-slightly over some private joke.

PERSONALITY

Solenne's manners and bearing have all the elegance and refinement that one would expect from the scion of one of Gridania's wealthiest and most respected families. She is poised, charismatic, and when the situation allows for it, vivacious. She sparkles at large social gatherings, yet seems equally content to enjoy a polite tête-à-tête with an acquaintance. But she is more than just a well-bred lady. She has the heart of an adventurer, the soul of a leader, and the mind of a tactician. There is a restlessness in her that cannot be stilled. She craves danger and excitement, but not merely for their own sake. Instead, her goal is to bring change to the world, one rescued soul or one vanquished foe at a time. She's only happy when she's dreaming impossible dreams and fighting for hopeless causes.

Never knowing her father, Sonelle instead employed a long and happy relationship with her mother. The pair were inseparable until Mireille’s death two years before the Calamity, lost in an attack by Ixal raiders on a caravan both she and her daughter were part of.

By that point, Sonelle had already become a decent chirurgeon. But having been knocked unconscious during the fighting, she was unable to assist with her mother’s wounds and awoke a week later an orphan.

Sonelle has never forgotten her mother or the love imparted on her throughout their years together.

Sonelle’s knowledge of her father comes only from scraps pieced together from her mother’s lips when she was old enough to ask questions but too young to understand how much doing so upset her sole parent. When she realised that this was a point of intense sadness for Mireille, Sonelle stopped entirely. However, her father has never materialised or shown an interest in her, perhaps not even knowing she exists, and thusly Sonelle’s opinion of him is that, whilst curious to know about the circumstances that parted him and her mother, he has had no meaningful impact on her life and therefore, why should she care about his?

RP Preferences and Limits
RP Style I tend to write paragraph posts, and sometimes my posts spill over into several chat entries. I find that this more descriptive style of RP gives me better immersion than short, choppy posts. I'm willing to write shorter posts, especially at crowded events where there is significant chat scroll, but overall I find that RP style less fulfilling. Also, while typos happen to the best of us, I prefer to RP with people who make some effort to use correct grammar and punctuation. But I will definitely make allowances if English is not your first language.
Limits At present, I am only willing to ERP with close friends whom I deeply trust. I have nothing against ERP or those who enjoy it, but due to some bad experiences, I am very picky about my ERP partners. If we've been RPing together for a while, feel free to ask, but please be willing to accept my answer if I say no. Please note that I will not RP scenes involving sexual violence. Brief or subtle allusions to rape are acceptable. Detailed descriptions are not. I also don't like RPing scenes involving extreme gore, body horror, or torture, although I might be willing to make exceptions in very specific circumstances. Violent scenes that are less gore-heavy are fine. Several of my characters live violent lifestyles, and my RP reflects that.

Looking for a way to get involved with Sonelle? That’s great! Here are some hooks for anyone viewing this page who might want to send her a letter, or contact me to set something up. All these following points are publicly accessible and common knowledge, and it is perfectly fine to use them with or without my consent (although if you want more specific details, please just nab me to discuss). See you soon!
Primarily Sonelle is a wandering healer which provides a lot of scope for past and future interactions. Did your character blackout during a fight, only to come to in a nice warm tavern bed and their comrades chuckling about how some Elezen woman fussed over their bandages for an hour? Is your character maybe suffering from an illness or needs medication? Are you perhaps part of a mercenary or adventurer group who could use some extra hands on board whilst Sonelle is in the area temporarily or maybe hired her in the past? All these and more are very much welcome starting points as far as I am concerned.
Mireille Cosseau, Sonelle’s mother, was an accomplished seamstress before her death two years prior to the Calamity. If your character or their family might have had dealings with a Duskwight tailor it is more than likely that they might have met Sonelle at any stage in her extended childhood. After Mireille was killed, Sonelle wrote a series of letters to her repeat customers informing them of her passing but has never had contact since. However, it would be easy for word of her travels to reach back to old customers.
