[Appearance]:
- A haggardly Hellsguard Roegadyn.
- Hair often done in dreads, or kept close to his scalp.
- Pale complexion, even considering his dark skin color. Skin covered in scars ranging from barely noticeable to downright grisly.
- Often dresses in a full suit of armor which he rarely, if ever, removes. He goes so far as to wear other articles over it, much to the amusement of others.
[Demeanor]:
- Cranky. While not actively going out of his way to be rude to others, the herculean tasks required to maintain the Black Waltz often leave him in a foul mood. The oftentimes disastrous results of his free company leader's experiments certainly don't help to lighten his mood.
- Kind. When not under the crushing loads of paperwork or fixing the Black Waltz' dilapidated home, Jarben is always keen to offer his friends kind words and a smile.
- Gentle. Surprisingly, the hulking, scarred, war-torn man doesn't enjoy violence, and uses it as an absolute last resort. He would much rather attempt to influence and persuade others to do the right thing, instead of forcing them to.
[Personality]
- One might describe Jarben as fatherly. Despite having no (known) children of his own, he always has words of wisdom to impart on to friends in need. He takes their well-being into his own hands, sometimes at great cost to himself.
- The loyalty of the prideful Roegadyn is second to none, and this is very apparent in Jarben. His words are binding, with his honor on the line.
[Occupation]:
- Semi-retired sellsword. While not quite ready to hang up his axe and shed his armor, at his age, he's much more comfortable being a homemaker and administrator for his free company.
- Assistant to the Black Waltz's leader. He believes the leader of his free company to be impulsive, childish, and irresponsible, but her profound moments of self-awareness and leadership give him hope that he can set her down the right path.
[Notes]:
- Proficient cook, having gathered many recipes and culinary techniques over his travels.
- Smokes heavily, but makes it a point not to smoke indoors. He always carries a pipe and tobacco on his person.
