: Waltz grew up in Gridania where he was raised with his mother and aunt, living a more sheltered normal life compared to many of his race. His mother was a dancer and performer along with his aunt who did fortune telling on the side. His father was Nunh that he never knew, having fallen for his mother before he was born when he was entranced by her dancing in Ul'Dah. He of course, like a normal Nunh does, knocked her up and left her to be with other girls which did not sit well with his mother's sister who forced him to completely be out of their lives, wanting nothing to do with a Seeker in their family or seeing his son. Despite his mother still being in love with the Seeker, Waltz's auntie was completely against it and protected her younger sister from being with someone like that, especially the taboo of mixing clans. When Waltz was actually born, they kept the fact that he was a half-breed away from their other clan members. Despite that fact, he was still picked on by the other kids in his clan who suspected it as much due to his skintone. Even though he was teased and bullied for it, the small kid did his best to ignore it, putting all his efforts into dance and music as an emotional release. Living in Gridania, his mother and aunt taught him the art of dancing and showed him everything they knew, the boy often practicing till the break of dawn until he felt it was perfect. His mother protected her son with all her life and wanted him to live normally, not under the constraints and practices that were forced upon their race, which is why his view on relationships and love are very obscured, not understanding the fact that a lot of members in their race had multiple partners. By the time he was 14, he was finally able to be up in the spotlight, dancing alongside his mother and auntie and making a name for himself among the other dancers in his mother's group, becoming one of the youngest only male dancer in their troupe. As Waltz moved closer into his teenage years around 17, his mother began to grow very ill and as much as the conjurers attempted to help her, nothing seemed to help at all. In her final remaining days, the boy spent by her bedside recalling memories with her of times when he was younger and she would read him bedtime fairy tales while he laid snugly in bed inside of their tiny forest home. His auntie and his mother continued to care for her till her very last moment, the boy spending days and nights reading her stories and bringing her favorite snacks always that they shared together while his mother told him stories of when she was a child herself or what she could recall of his father. He loved his mother with all his heart and it really showed all the way up until her death, keeping her memory and her life in everything he continued to do. After his mother passed away, he stayed living with his auntie, helping her around the house and continuing to learn from her until he was ready to get out on into the world on his own. She passed onto him the knowledge of fortune telling as well, hoping he could perhaps the skill to broaden his career. With bright eyes, the young teen set out into the world away from his forest home to seek out fortune and fame like every other dancer with a big dream.

Appearance & Personality

Appearance: Waltz is short, about 5'5 and 130 pounds, with an athletic curvy girlish build layered with lean muscles. Being a dancer with strong legs, this boy can sure pack a kick. While his body is a slightly late bloomer and he's shorter than a lot of male Miqo'te, Waltz's hips are pronounced and attracting. His skin tone is a light muted tan, due to his father being darker who was a Seeker and his mother being fair skinned who was a Keeper. His facial features are soft and warm, cheerful and enchanting in a certain way with sleepy light green eyes and a playful smirk. He has curly and fluffy dark pink hair, sometimes adorned with feathers or different hair accessories. He is often decked out in an entertainer outfit festooned with fringes, tassels, ribbons, veils, feathers, beads, bones, bits of metal, opalescent materials, bold colors and patterns.

Personality: Cheerful probably isn’t enough to describe Waltz’s personality. Waltz is one of those kinds of people who lives off his own eccentricity and without it, the boy would most likely be a bit lost since his charisma is what keeps him going.

Though of course, Waltz knows the difference between when it is time for fun and games and when he needs to behave himself since that was the way that he was raised by her mother and auntie. Waiting for progress to take place is slow and painful for Waltz. Delays he deems unnecessary will be agonizing, but he has learned not to always surrender to his contracting patience. However now that he is slowly entering into a world of adulthood, this childish feature may well wear thin and eventually disappear just as his grasp on the conflict is stretched to be closer to reality.

Through the eyes of others, Waltz comes across as very childish and too overly silly. Perhaps it is due to his age, or perhaps it’s due to his incredible optimism obscuring his view of the world. Having a bit of a theatrical upbringing, Waltz is extravagant and over-the-top, making sure that whatever he may be feeling today is painfully clear to anyone in a ten-metre distance. Growing up around two dancers, he has a firm grasp on the art, but is still developing his skills. He enjoys the spotlight, attention, but most of all, getting a reaction out of his company. Dancing will always be Waltz’s biggest influences.

Around people, he is very dynamic, spoiling friends and strangers alike with love. He can be quite touchy at times; sometimes he forgets the personal spaces of others, violating some common courtesy and his friendliness can become a harmful concoction. He smiles often and laughs genuinely, making him approachable and somewhat charming, yet some, if not many, can be put off by his over the top persona.

Every cloud has a silver lining – or at least that’s what she was brought up to believe. His eccentric auntie always told him that you have to make the most out of every opportunity to get anywhere. If a situation he views as drab, tiresome or even dangerous, the petite boy will almost certainly find something within the circumstances to smile at and hold in more precedence than any of the bad things that might be happening.

Waltz is very strong willed, and has firm opinions of what he qualifies as right and wrong. He has his goals and although at times he can be absent-minded, they are incredibly fixed. If your goal is at odds with his, he will distance himself from what it is you're doing and likely won't be of any help at all. However, if at some point he feels that your goal is aligned well enough with his again, he'll come back like nothing happened.

A little secret about Waltz... he still believes in fairy tales. It all fits together perfectly in his head, The stage has instilled in hopes hopes for his own fairy tale ending, and because of it he believes in all sorts of childish things: soulmates, happily-ever-afters, damsels in distress and prince charmings. He's more confident that all aspects of a fairy tale life will happen to him at one point or another of course, this is his best kept secret. He keep these hopes and dreams under lock and key, but hopes someone, someone perfect for him, will uncover them someday.
