X'vaan Tia is a traveling merchant with a jovial personality and a grin to match, always pleased to be the center of attention and doing what he can to put those around him at ease. He roams the length and breadth of Eorzea on his wagon buying and selling goods for a profit and occasionally taking on a passenger here or there. Over the years he's turned this one-time hobby into a fairly profitable venture, with flyers advertising his services scattered across cities and towns and a tidy profit under his belt.

Appearance & Personality

Road weathered and looking to be close to middling age, aside from his exuberant personality X'vaan doesn't exactly stand out when put beside others of his kind. A life in the harsh heat of Thanalan has left him prone to wearing loose fitting linen or leather clothes, and he rarely dons any sort of protective gear despite the sometimes dangerous nature of his chosen profession. He also doesn't seem to carry any sort of weapons for self defense, and though he can occasionally be found accompanied by a bodyguard or somesuch, more often he's on his own and apparently defenseless.

For someone who wouldn't be out of place among the upper-class merchants of Ul'dah he's certainly a good deal more fit than the often doughy and out of shape members of the sultanates upper class. Though average in height and relatively lean in build, there are visible muscles under his skin and it's clear he goes out of his way to take care of himself. Where he finds the time to do this between days spent on the road and his frequent late nights in various taverns and Inns when he returns to civilization is a yet unknown. His face bears a number of tattoos, likely remnants from his days among an X tribe offshoot in the deep Sagolii Desert, and he keeps his chestnut hair tied back tightly. His eyes are a pale green that shine amusedly most of the time, rarely looking anything but welcoming.

X'vaan is loud, energetic, but kind to a fault. He loves meeting new people on his travels and involving himself in their lives, much to the annoyance of some of them. Though he tries to be personable with everyone he meets, events in his past have left him with a distinct lack of respect for those in authority, and this hasn't made him any friends among them. Though he technically heads up a business, it takes little encouragement for him to go off on some adventure or another even if it costs him a profit, too tempting is the possibility of some interesting encounter or discovery.

Interestingly enough, he seems to have the most trouble befriending others of his kind, some events in his past having left him more wary of other Seekers than he is of just about anyone else.

Biography

X'vaan was born and raised in the Sagolii Desert among a militant offshoot of the X (Lynx) tribe of Seekers of the Sun. He left his home in his late teens to join the rest of the civilized world and eventually settled in Ul'dah.
