B A C K G R O U N D

Born to a Seeker of the Sun Father and Keeper of the Moon Mother. Her parents were indentured slaves to a wealthy Lalafel in the city of Ul'dah, so her birth was something uncommon for both clans. Her first name has her fathers tribe attached to it, her last name is her mothers. In order to keep their child safe from a life of slavery, they reasoned with their master that the debt they pay was their own on her sixth summer. It was granted she would be freed, but once outside his gates she would not be protected whatsoever and her fate is her own. The parents agreed and let their daughter wonder outside the confines of mansion with nothing to her name but the clothes on her body..

She wondered the streets for sometime after, stealing what she could to fill her stomach, sleeping in the corners of Ul'dah's high walls. One day she wondered beyond the walls into the deserts of Thanalan and spied upon a group of Lalafel dressed peculiarly, they held strange rods, utter strange words and watched as the elements bent to their will and threw balls of fire and shards of ice from thin air. Amused and inspired she picked up a stick and haphazardly copied the strange words. The void replied sensing something deep within the girl, a monster appeared and offered a pact writ in blood. It wasn't long before the screams of a child were heard by the group of Lalafel who rushed to the scream, notice a girl back against a stone in fear of the voidsent before her.

Once they had awayed the foul best they extended their hand to the girl asking for her name, still too frightened to reply they gave her a nickname "Fate Adrasteia", with Fate still meaning what it means and Adrasteia an ancient word from a long lost civilization (its Greek) meaning Inescapable. It was as if the guiding hand of Hydaelyn lead this miqo'te of latent abilites to them. They offered her food, clothes and shelter, in exchange she was to study at the thaumaturges guild and become an apprentice. During her stay, the thaumaturges knew she had a gift for magecraft and that she could probably learn more. They reached out to both the Conjuror's guild of Gridania and the Arcanist guild of Limsa Lominsa to assist the study this magical prodigy they had found. She stayed with them for twelve summers where they deemed her worth of delving deeper and back into that dark power she haphazardily summoned in summers past, she was introduced to Lalai a Black Mage and her beastmen cohorts. it was also during this time she found herself echo blessed and met Thancred whom was the same which she later joined his group, The Scions of the Seventh Dawn.

Along with working besides the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, she also worked upon her own knowledge and reputation with the mystical artes, earning herself reputation with the grand companies all whom had already heard of a young woman gifted in the arts of Thaumaturgy, Conjuring and Arcanist, she began filling up her own coffers working for all three and on her twenty first summer, she returned to the mansion where her parents were kept, with none remember what the child looked like except for her parents who realized who she was even after fifteen summers. She handed the Lalafel a full sack of gil well worth more than what was left on her parents debt and bought their freedom, she spent an entire summer building up her bond with her parents once again. Her parent's not wanting to impose too much on their daughter, decided to get their own jobs and home and always welcome their daughter back with open arms. Her parents still call her by her proper tribal name, but the name her Lalafel teachers gave her, had stuck and she wonders the world under that name.

A P P E A R A N C E

Fate is shorter than your average female Miqo'te, standing at only 150cm (5ft). She possess all the qualities of femininity that any woman would hope for, a lithe well endowed body. She keeps her three sizes secret from all but many still wager a guess. Her many years of studying with the magical arts has seen her muscle growth slowed, uncommon for her race as almost all Miqo'te are hunter gathers and have at least toned muscles, especially around their arms and legs. She does however make sure to go for jogs around Ul'dah ever since she was freed from slavery, so she is fit in the terms of cardio. Her most prominent feature is the contrast of her hazelnut chocolate skin to her light blonde hair and ice blue eyes that draws out her natural beauty.

Fate's wardrobe is mostly filled with elegant dress and frilly all used for various occasions formal or otherwise. She prefers elegance and style above all else she has gained a reputation for being over dressed for simple occasions. Due to this she had taken up tutelage under Redolent Rose of the Weaver's Guild in Ul'dah, mastering Clothcraft after many summers and scolding from the master Weaver himself. As master of the magical arts, Fate's more combative wardrobe is she has woven herself robes of high quality, imbued with materia to enhance her magical prowess. Her clothes are always while well worn are well cared for and maintained through her crafting art. As for colours, Black suits her most of the time but she does enjoy lighter more vibrant colours, she has a musical idol outfit, dyed pastel blue for little ladies day. She also enjoys the Thavnarian bustier and tights dyed dalamud red when practicing her dancing. So long as it matches well with her skin, she will adore it. 

P E R S O N A L I T Y

Headstrong, Independent, Intelligent and just a tad maniacal about magic. When someone meets Fate for the first time, her outward demeanor is that of an elegant noblewoman, her ladylike speech, mannerisms, natural intellect and beauty, one would think she was always born into wealth. This is normal for her, after years of study and the wealth and fame she has earnt, her attitude may come off a little uppity at times or as the term goes 'it's my way or the highway'. She wears her heart on her sleeve and is always forthcoming with her intentions and not one to succumb peer pressure.

In her past when she was younger, she was a lonely child, unhappy at her loss of her parent and thrust out into the world with only her clothes. She did everything she could to survive, her younger life was tough and it weighed heavy on her heart, there were many nights where she cried herself to sleep. It was on that fateful day when she met the Lalafels of the thaumaturges guild where her life slowly started to turn around. While still crying missing her parents, the cries had become less and less as she devoted her time to her studies of arts, making friends with the other students. When it came time to pay for her parents freedom, she was worried that they would not remember her or recognize her as it had been fifteen summers. A weight was lifted that day, tears of joy when she embraced her mother and father once again.

Fate also has different demeanors for her professional life, while contracted as an advisor to the Grand Companies she always has her wits about and speaks in her ladylike manner, carrying herself as a professional noblewoman. When she is teaching the magical arts, she is strict, she pushes her students to reach their full potential and speaks in a more strict motherly manner. When she is studying magic she becomes more maniacal and at worst akin to a mad scientist, her pursuit of magical arts is her passion and she does almost whatever it takes, sometimes going as far as using her body to tempt others into giving what she wants. But she would never resort to violence.

In combat, being a mage, she prefers to be in the back lines dealing her spells away from the troubles. If worse comes to worse she makes sure to put up her defensive spells if she has to encounter a threat on her own. While physically weak, she is at least strong and confident in her ability to run and keep up with her party members or just plain run away from a situation that is unfavorable.

Fate met the Bard in the Adventure's guild in Ul'dah drunk and fumbling about to pay Momodi Modi, after assisting the Bard, she was about to go on her way, when the bard started spouting nonsense about a wise wizard of some sort who was killed by his apprentice. Curious, Fate sat down and listened to the story before heading home. She came back another day when the bard was surprisingly sober and needed assistance with taking down a voidscent, after seeing the Bard was actually skilled, she endevoured to keep good relations with Siffty and they became steadfast friends . L'Hemiya Jboro ( ● ) - Queen of the Moths. Fate and L'Hemiya go way back, they met right after the calamity and hit it along well for awhile to the point they were together and bonded for a time. But their were strains and there were arguments for awhile as well which lead to them going their separate ways. After a few years of silence, they chance met up again at one point and reconciled their differences and have remained steadfast friends Luxeria Ephrais ( ● ) - The Eager student While a more recent acquaintance, Fate met Luxeria at a house gathering, it was only until near the end of the party that they exchanged hello's. After a long conversation about each others past, goals and motivations and the latent aether potential of the Au Ra, she allowed for Luxeria to become her student for merely five thousand gil Sora Amariyo ( ● ) - The Curious Case Another more recent acquaintance, met at a talent show hosted at another's home, The moment she laid eyes on the Au Ra she could see his aether, she could see that this Au Ra aether was not of the Source, but that of the Void. While their first interaction together was not so pleasant (Fate was pretty blunt and straight forward) They have had encounters after with conversations of existentialism, multi universe theory and dimensional travel.
