Basic Info

J'rashien Qhet, known commonly as simply Rashien or even Jash, is a Neutral Good aligned, female Miqo'te (Seekers of the Sun) of the Jackal tribe. Hailing from the southern reaches of Thanalan, like the large of her kin, J'rashien is still very much in touch with her tribal heritage and often returns to the desert between her exploits with the sultanate's Brass Blades. Skilled with both spear and scimitar, the latter being her largely preferred, the small woman is an agile gladiator with an enthusiastic taste for battle. Though still proudly identifying with her tribe, J'rashien's love for Ul'dah and her people set her apart from her desert-dwelling brothers and sisters, and this genuine fondness for the city-state makes her one of the Brass Blades' more honest soldiers.

Likes

■The thrill of battle. From bar brawls, to gladiatorial tournaments, to the front line.
■Wine. Red, white, Ul'dahn, Sharlayan, and lots of it.
■Ul'dah. Both as a haunt and as a community, despite how frequently she might complain. For coin and country!
■Gambling. She has a deft hand at cards, but not even Azeyma can predict the races.

Dislikes

■Bad manners. It doesn't matter how drunk you are, or she is, there is never an excuse.
■The frivolously rich. When you've little coin yourself, and you serve the corrupt, it gets tiring quickly.
■Honey. No, she will not try it again, and she doesn't care if your mother made it specially.
■Tight spaces. If there is no tail wiggle room, then there's not room enough.

Appearance & Personality

J'rashien is short of stature and of lean physique, much to her irritation; even her tail is short for a Seeker. Despite her small frame, her body is still notably toned from training, though she remains smaller and more agile than your typical gladiatorial combatant. The Miqo'te, looking to be just passing her prime, carries herself with an air that is strongly defiant of her physical limitations, and those who have seen her in battle can attest to how her pride is due, her build doing little to hinder her prowess. A deep, rusty complexion is born of the desert, and only made darker by the years she has persisted to remain in Thanalan. Were it not for the littering of scars, varying in shape and severity, her skin would be clear as day, but alas the paler marks serve to betray her craft. To add to J'rashien's deep, autumn palette, the hair that frames crookedly feminine features is a bold mahogany, caught in bunches beside her face and imperfectly cut. Said features themselves are a mismatched affair: A broad and flat nose, almost doe-esque in nature, looks to have been broken two or three times more than it could take; plump lips carry a neutral pout, most often chapped by humidity and ragged by pointed canines; her cheekbones sit high on a rounded face, though full cheeks make the refined sculpting rather redundant; and finally, all she can boast, a pair of bright, odd eyes, the left a dull topaz and the right fern green.

Typically garbed in practical leathers and lightweight mail, J'rashien is scarcely ever seen in common drabs. Her attire is not of high quality, notably patched up and irreparably dented in places, though she carries it with pride regardless. Wide, rounded ears protrude from the wraps of many coloured turbans, brass hoops pierced through their tips, and the Miqo'te is rarely ever seen with her hair free. As for equipment, she can be spotted with both spear and shortsword, and her arms appear far more loved than her garb. Especially the scimitar that most often resides at her hip, the blade is worn enough to boast frequent use, though well enough maintained to tell of its master's care. The shield at her back changes often, and sometimes is even absent, lending to the assumption that this gladiator is far more used to being on the offensive. The rarer sight of a spear at her back tends to mean the jackal has recently visited home, and if only briefly, had attended her duties as a huntress of the desert. The weapon itself, aside from the stories its steeped in, is a rather simple affair: a handcrafted harpoon of crude metal and bone, adorned by feathers, trinkets and teeth, and though it may look out of place on J'rashien whilst she treads the streets of Ul'dah, something about the way she is weighted by the thing tells of the gladiator's veering talent in lancing.

In nature, J'rashien is generally not as brash as her eager taste for battle. A well-mannered woman with fiery opinions and an easy grin, she is not unpleasant by any means, perhaps just difficult. Reserved when it concerns herself under interrogation, she is generally quiet between topics she has a sincere interest in, and it can make an honest woman look terribly shady. Though, laughter comes easily to this Miqo'te and she has been known to be caring and fiercely protective when it comes to the less fortunate and those she loves; motherly, even. J'rashien is really a mixed bag, held within the pages of a closed book, and getting to know her can be a long process which yields and lucky dip variety of results.
