History
Early Life to Adulthood
Siovant was the unfortunate result of an extramarital tryst between an Ishgardian nobleman and a Gridanian commoner. In his youth, Siovant was considered an outcast by both cultures and he quite quickly grew into a cynical, bitter young man.
Educated in Ishgard, and trained vigorously in martial pursuits, it was clear that the mixed-blooded Elezen had a talent for war. It would be a long time before he put it to good use, however.
Early in his youth, he fled his home to live as a travelling minstrel after he'd experienced childish infatuation for a dancer in the same troupe. His obsession was viewed by others with pity and amusement, and it was a surprise to nobody when he was left heartbroken.
Eager for change, he lied about his age and enlisted with the Wailers and quite quickly gained recognition for his talents. Though, his time with them was short.
After being discharged from the Wailers, he soon enlisted with the Order of the Twin Adders and continued his upwards-climb.
When his time with the Adders had drawn to a close, he briefly worked solely through a union between House Gascogne and House De'bayle, but after a period of betrayal and heartbreak he left to pursue his own destiny.
Personality & Appearance
Appearance
Siovant struck a considerable and eye-drawing figure. Tall, even among his Elezen kin, and built with the musculature atypical for the normally-willowy Gridanians. Truly, his body is a testament to a life of strife and struggle, hardened tone twisted and knotted beneath his well-scarred flesh.
And there were scars aplenty. Puckered, ill-healed, or fresh. They were abounds, and he was loathe to share any more than the vaguest of details about them.
Sharp, golden hues sat deeply-sunk in his head. Harsh and angular in their attention. Gazing hawkishly down over his large, curved nose. Even if not for his near-predatory glare, there was something avian about that visage.
Thick ebon locks could be seen either tumbling about his shoulders or tied up tightly behind his head.
The Elezen bore all the severity and discipline of a professional soldier. Moving and acting with the height of manner, never faltering or wasting a gesture.
His clothing, and uniform, were never anything but absolutely immaculate. Arms and armor scoured of any trace of flaw.
Truly fussy.
Clothing
Generally Siovant dressed himself as if he expected to be inspected. And black was usually his tone of choice.
Personality
Siovant was a man of many masks, rarely allowing anybody less than a trusted confidant to peer past the well-prepared act that he displayed for the public.
Haughty, cold, and dismissive while maintaining an attitude of absolute etiquette. It wasn't rare to find the Elezen weaving a bold insult into a seemingly innocent statement. His intent hidden cunningly behind a sickly-sweet smile, lavish with forced warmth.
That being said, he rarely minced words or beat around the bush with his intent.
He was extremely slow to trust, and even slower to lower his guard. Strangers would scarcely get a second impression, though they'd never know that he regarded them with disdain.
Ruthless, and unflinching in the face of violence and death, Siovant has been long-desensitized to the horrors of war and strife.
