Appearance & Personality

Standing at 5', with long white hair, darker skin, and ice blue-eyes, Khaida tends to be a striking sight for a miqo'te. Small and slender, she's definitely built more for agility than strength. Her hair almost always tends to be kept up nowadays, and she's rarely ever seen without her ash mask. She likes the 'mysterious' vibe it gives her. Otherwise, her sense of style seems to bounce all over, but without becoming a clashing mess.

Khaida is a driven, reckless woman with little patience for many things, great patience for the Thaumaturgic arts and those she calls dear to her, and no fear of death. She is almost always moving, doing something, and has a strong want to see the world righted, to see it flourish and for Eorzea’s people to stand tall and proud once more. She has a perhaps skewed sense of morality, but is very firmly against certain things, and she claims to have no time for romance or sex. Keyword being ‘claims’, since there are a few who have managed to get her thoughts going in ways that make her rather grumpy because it’s ‘distracting’. She really does care, though. She just likes her ‘masked mysterious Thaumaturgic master’ vibe, and that stuff interferes with it.

And don’t insult Nanamo ul Namo or Ul'dah around her. She’s fiercely protective of the Sultana and her city.

Biography

Childhood

Khaida Ahmahno remembers the Shroud, and growing up deep within it. She remembers her mother’s clan, and always wanting more, snapping up the lessons in magic that her clan’s shaman gave her. And always she wanted more. She didn’t want the quiet magics of the world. She didn’t want to hide away in the deep darkness of the Twelveswood. She didn’t want to live in a society where her dearest friend, a male born from a Tia and a Keeper woman, wasn’t even able to have his own name. She and her mother never saw eye-to-eye, but because she was the eldest daughter, she wasn't outcast for the arguments.

Teenage

One day, her mother pushed one too many times for Khaida to act like a proper Keeper woman, and the girl packed up and left. Five years ago. Except she thinks it was just recently she left, as do any who knew her. No one knows there's been five-some years between then and now. And what happened for that to occur? Well, no one knows, seeing as they can't remember.

Present

Khaida has, in the short time since she'd arrived to Ul'dah, made something of a...name for herself. She's proven herself a prodigy with thaumaturgy, has proven herself a staunch ally of Ul'dah and her people, and has made her way into the ranks of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and the Immortal Flames. She's survived a battle with the primal Ifrit, ended up helping more people than she cares to think about [she's not in it for the glory, in all truth], and found herself dealing with things she wish she didn't have to...
