Appearance & Personality

Standing at 5', with long white hair, darker skin, and ice blue-eyes, Khaida tends to be a striking sight for a miqo'te. Small and slender, she's definitely built more for agility than strength. Her hair can be found up or down, but always long, and while she's left her mask behind her, she dons facepaint in the style of her ancestors. Otherwise, her sense of style seems to bounce all over, but without becoming a clashing mess.

Khaida is a driven, reckless woman with little patience for many things, great patience for the various magical arts of the world and those she calls dear to her, and no fear of death. She is almost always moving, doing something, and has a strong want to see the world righted, to see it flourish and for Eorzea’s people to stand tall and proud once more. Khaida does tend to flirt a great deal, having stopped bothering with 'staying undistracted', and it's not uncommon for her to have a fling or short relationship on top of her 'main', with all parties aware. She has a perhaps skewed sense of morality, but is very firmly against certain things, and remains firmly on the side of 'good'. Gods forbid you get in her way when she's on the warpath, however. She is a vicious miqo'te when her temper is riled.

And don’t insult Nanamo ul Namo or Ul'dah around her. She’s fiercely protective of the Sultana and her city.

Biography

Childhood

Khaida Ahmahno remembers the Shroud, and growing up deep within it. She remembers her mother’s clan, and always wanting more, snapping up the lessons in magic that her clan’s shaman gave her. And always she wanted more. She didn’t want the quiet magics of the world. She didn’t want to hide away in the deep darkness of the Twelveswood, sometimes venturing out of the village with her merchant father. She didn’t want to live in a society where her dearest friend, a male born from a Tia and a Keeper woman, wasn’t even able to have his own name. She and her mother never saw eye-to-eye, but because she was the eldest daughter, she wasn't outcast for the arguments.

Teenage

Khaida spent as much time with her father's caravan as she could, curious about the world and the magics laying in it. She had her first romance, had her first break-up [mutual, they're still friends], and the tensions between she and her mother grew and grew and grew...

Present

Eventually, she and her mother had a falling out involving her magic and her refusal to bring kittens into a post-Calamity world, and she took to the life of an adventurer, becoming a part of the Thaumaturgy Guild in Ul’dah and rising up as a star pupil to the Coco brothers. From there…she began her path to becoming one of the famed ‘Warriors of Light’. Much has happened to her since her first meeting with a stranger named Thancred, the trials of her life breaking her over and over again; causing her to jump from Black Mage to Astrologian to an odd variant of Dark Knight to Red Mage, and no matter what, she strides forward, fighting for those who cannot fight for themselves and walking towards a new and better dawn.

She cares a great deal for him, but the dating thing is just not a thing that's going to happen. Please stop implying it will. She's not interested in the fuzzface in THAT way. Have you HEARD his horrible sense of humor? Just look at the surname he changed to! ● Carnelian: Khaida's chocobo, granted to her by the Immortal Flames. She and Carnelian have bonded fiercely, the mare fighting alongside her as well as providing her with transportation to areas without aetherytes.
