A common sight amidst the bustling port city of Kugane, Akeno Asukai made a name for herself well before the influx of Eorzean blood to Hingashi soils. Born into one of Hingashi's prominent Clans, Akeno was afforded a number of opportunities during her childhood -- effectively grooming the woman to take her place as Clan Lord, were it not for the fact that she'd been born a woman. A treachery which allowed her younger brother, Kazuari, to take the mantle of Clan Lord when their father fell ill during Kazuari's tenth name-day. It is a slight Akeno has never quite recovered from and the very moment which set the head-strong illusionist on her path of vengeance.

A woman gifted with a cunning ability to manipulate the world around her, Akeno seeks to reclaim the mantle which she believes to be rightfully hers -- regardless of the sex between her thighs. It is this path which points the seething, serpent of a woman West to the port-city of Kugane and the distant shores of Eorzea herself; what better place to acquire mercenaries and blood-thirsty savages, hm? Now, raising her station as the "crowned monarch" of the Asukai Clan, Akeno seeks to amass her own army -- filling sacred ranks with Western blood in the hopes of besting her baby brother once and for all. But such is a dangerous path and Akeno flirts with danger at every opportunity. The community she builds is malicious and every individual who falls so willingly into the spun web becomes a weapon to be used against any who'd dare to call themselves her enemy.
