Pheli once had a paralyzing fear of the beastkin, but her former mate showed her how to channel her fear into the strength to fight them, and the Seeker will easily do so now, but seems to lose control when she does, as though her fear was channeled into an unrelenting rage towards the beast tribe. ■ Oppression. Pheli was a slave once, and she will not tolerate the subjugation of anyone against their will. If she sees this, she will step in and even fight the oppressor without fear. ■ Harm to her Friends. It is no secret that Pheli cares deeply about her friends and companions, to the point where her normally calm, shy personality will become aggressive, even violent, if one of her friends is harmed. Quirks ■ Scatterbrained. Pheli can lose her train of thought sometimes, making for some embarrassing antics. ■ Fire Immunity. Due aetherial gifts bestowed to her by Thal, one half of the Traders, Pheli has an immunity to injury from fire. This tends to frighten people a fair bit as she can touch fire without injury for about 3 minutes. She also does much better in hot climes than cold ones. ■ Stubborn. Pheli's mother once said, "That girl could demand the walls move for her to pass, and she would not budge til they did." and she could not be more right. Once her mind is made up,Pheli will see a task to its completion, no matter what. ■ Courageous. Pheli has a strong will to protect those she loves and cares for. This trait has gotten her into trouble, but if it means saving a life or getting someone else out of trouble, it is worth it to her, even if it causes physical, mental or aetherical injury. ■ Cold Intolerance. Whereas Pheli is strong in fire and heat, she is the opposite in cold and ice. Being in a cold climate for too long greatly hinders her casting ability and makes her extremely sluggish. She has to wear lots of layers to even attempt to be able to cast spells in cold areas. ■ Aether Projections. Pheli can create small objects with her aether to keep her levels in check. Normally this can be seen as a glowing Morpho, or a glowing bluebird fluttering around her. Appearance Standing at only 4 fulms, 10 ilms and weighing only 97 ponze, Pheli's diminutive stature has earned her the nicknames "smolcatte", "tinycatte", and "Lil Kit" by some. She doesn't mind her height, normally, but will get a bit upset if it is openly mocked or teased. She has a tufted tail, somewhat long by Seeker standards, and she has been known to grab light items or hold onto things with it. She has black hair, with lavender/violet coloured streaks in it. Her hairstyle may vary, though it is currently a short bob around her face. She has two scars over her right eye, one on the bridge of her nose, and still another on her left cheek. Her left eye is gold in color, the right is a brilliant crimson,both seeming to glow when enraged. She has various other scars over her body, consisting of Amalj'aa bite marks, claw marks, knife wounds, a scar across her throat from an attempted murder, and a sword penetration in her lower belly. She wears unrestricting clothing, having no aversion to hiding her scars. Skirts and thigh-high boots are usually preferred by her, a dagger on a belt on her left thigh, a gift from her former mate, Omai Ja Enenra. After the death of Omai Ja, Pheli did odd jobs to keep herself occupied while her daughter forged her own path. When her mate's old enemy returned, she went into hiding, using her given tribal name to throw the trail. During her time, she was swayed by an Imperial male to work for him, the two eventually becoming lovers for a time despite his violent and sociopathic tendencies. One day he snapped after a failed mission, running the seeker through with his blade and throwing her from the top of the Dawn Throne in the Azim Steppes. She barely survived, and the injuries left her with no memory past the last moon of her time with the Imperial. He gave her a false name and background, until his guilt left him to tell her that her real name was Pheli, before leaving her to locations unknown. Pheli has retained her memories thanks to various sources, though some still remain out of her reach. She bore Shinji a son, named Sarluu Masajin Calar, and the tribe slowly grows. Her work through her Company and her contacts forges more relations and bonds, the seeker's circle slowly expanding over time. NPC Expand Baderon Tenfingers ( ♥ ) ( NPC ) - "Pops" or "Salty" Baderon has known Pheli since she was four days old, having taken her and her mother, Dazi Nosuk, in when they first arrived in Vylbrand. He let them stay rent-free at the Inn, and Dazi worked as a tavernier. Baderon gave Pheli's mother the affectionate name "Daisy Half-tail" due to the pronunciation of her name, and the fact she had the end half of her tail missing. When Pheli was old enough, she helped wipe down tables and ran errands for Baderon. The day her mother went missing, taken by the Serpent Reavers, Baderon told Pheli the Yellowjackets would take care of things, and Pheli ran away to Woad Whisper Canyon and stayed there for three days. Rage overtook her, and Pheli went to the Serpent Reaver's den alone with her carbuncle, Dia. She made a grave mistake that almost cost her her life, and Baderon went out to find her when she didn't return from her announced plan. He found Pheli's chocobo, Alanna, coming up the road to the Tempest Gate, soaked in blood and a half-dead Pheli slung across her back, her left arm nearly severed near the shoulder. PC Expand Shinji Calar ( ♥ ♥ ) - "Master" or "Luu-khaan" As Pheli scoured Eorzea for her lost memories, Shinji of the Calar returned to her life after vanishing for moons, and took it upon himself to help her pick up the pieces. Knowing what she'd been through and her strength of will, he molded and shaped her mind in order to help her unlock some of the memories surrounding him and Goldbrand. He extended the offer to join his tribe to her, which she finally accepted after several turns of him asking in the past. His strength compliments her weaknesses, and vice versa. She'd not felt such wholeness since the passing of Omai Ja, and fell into her place in Calar; protecting Shinji, and his other mate, S'zo, as the group try and rebuild the tribe. Expand S'zohar Petih ( ♥ ♥ ) - "Pet" Shinji's first mate, S'zo has known Pheli since first joining Goldbrand. She'd vanished for a while on some sort of spiritual quest, but has since returned to Calar, much to Shinji and Pheli's relief. Pheli tries to show her affections to the female seeker, but has been keeping her distance since S'zo has been showing only platonic interest in Pheli. Expand Zyreil'a Yeren ( ? ) - "Mentor" Zyreil'a has known Pheli since she was fifteen years of age, teaching her the ways of thaumaturgy for a time, as well as having some romantic trysts in her of-age years before he disappeared when she was about twenty. She figured she would never see him again, but somehow he returned, and for a while he seemed the part of the villain and wreaking havoc on poor Pheli before vanishing again during the period of time she was pregnant with her son and daughter. After her incident in the void, he suddenly returned, acting as he did back when she was younger, and seeming to not know what had happened before. Pheli is wary, but he seems to be there the most when she needs it. During Pheli's journey to find her memories, he found her, taunting her with knowledge of her memories from the past. When he found out Shinji had laid claim to her, he became agitated, using his power to try and corrupt Pheli's soulstone and embed it in her neck. Pheli managed to tear it out, causing more scars to her body which infuriated him more. He will stop at nothing to take her away from Calar, claiming that Pheli belongs to him. Expand Kuro Solaire ( ? ) - "Captain" (Under Construction) Expand Omai Ja Enenra ( ✖ ) - "Night" Omai Ja was Pheli's first mate, and the first Xaela she'd ever encountered personally. His tribe wiped out, he was the sole survivor, and carried Nhaama's Blessing in the form of an aetherial weapon known as the Dusk Shard. With this blessing, his time was borrowed, but he made sure to make the most of it while he was with Pheli. Siring twins, a son and a daughter, he helped Pheli raise and teach them tribal Xaela ways. When a surprise attack by a voidsent drew his mate and children into the void, he was distraught with grief on losing his tribe a second time. He wandered the lands, killing every occultist and voidal creature he could find in search of them. When the three of them were reunited, Omai Ja was pained to find Pheli corrupted by the void. This ultimately lead to their separation. During a raid of one of the Garlean Castrums, Omai Ja was badly wounded, and the bond between him and Pheli drew the smolcatte to his side. She was able to heal him with some of her own life energy, saving him from the brink of death. Not long after, Omai Ja remarried, and assumed leadership of the Enenra. Unfortunately, to everyone's surprise, his new mate was a lure, drawing Omai Ja out to his enemies, the ones who had destroyed his original tribe. Severing all bonds to the rest of his family, he sacrificed himself to save them. Expand Tzu Ja Myr Bairon ( ✖ ) - "Star" Pheli's son, Tzu Ja Myr Enenra was ever influenced by magic, and learned by leaps and bounds. When he, his sister and Pheli were drawn into the void, the blessing inherited by his father prevented him and his sister from being completely tainted by the voidal energies. But nothing is without its faults, and while in the void, the aether combined with time being different than on the plane of Hydalyn, he and his sister aged at a rapid rate. When they emerged, their technical age was that of an eighteen or nineteen-year old, but in Hydalyn time, they were only about 3 or 4 years old. Nonetheless, Tzu Ja went off to Sharlayan to learn more about magic and conjury, where a freak accident occured and he was presumed dead. Some time later it was found that he was indeed alive, much to the relief and annoyance of his dear mother, who was unaware of his return to Eorzea. He was close to his father, but still continued his studies until he was seemingly killed. Expand Kyhana Bairon ( ♥ ) - "Star" "Ky" or "Luna" The second-born of Pheli's twins. Ever observant, she was fearless and curious to the point of danger. She would climb anything she could get her hands on, and in infancy, developed a taste for biting and chewing things within reach. During their brief and violent time in the void, she learned fighting techniques by watching the voidsent around her, and her own mother fighting to keep them all alive. When her body had aged enough, she started fighting alongside her mother, using daggers and stones to kill her enemies. Once free of their nightmare, Kyhana sought out her father to teach her more about the tribal ways. She met her first mate through Pheli's friend Kraze Sunila, though that romance ended badly. Her mate challenged her father's authority, showing the greatest disrespect. Omai Ja, insulted by the fact he was voidtouched and openly tried to fight him for his rank, challenged him and killed the upstart, bringing his heart back to his angered daughter. Her second mate had promise, showing respect to Omai Ja and even going through the trial of fighting each family member to win his place in the tribe. However, Kyhana found herself pregnant out of Bonding, and her father banished the pair from the tribe, sending them on a survival trial in the deserts of his homeland. Sadly, the unborn child was lost, and because of her mate's foolish words, they were no longer allowed in her father's shade and exiled from the tribe. The pair went to Pheli, who allowed them use of her surname and with the help of Ayla Moenwyb, received the name Alenqa Lumina Nosuk. Two days before they were scheduled to be married, however, Alenqa awoke to a letter from her mate, saying he was leaving and would not come back. Angered and hurt, she moved on, taking care of her mother and training to keep her mind off the heartbreak. In the suns and moons that followed, Alenqa forged a deep love for her friend and companion, a half-breed Miqo'te by the name of Raih'a Zaye. Some time later, her brother, Tzu Ja returned, having been lost in the deep desert and receiving training to become Seer for the Bairon. He restored his sister's true name, and is helping her discover her true calling to become khatun of their tribe. Her mate vanished without a trace sometime later, leaving the young hybrid reeling from yet another loss. To hide the pain and hurt, she trains almost constantly to better herself as both fighter and future khatun of the Bairon.
