Khar Ramsus Tol Galthens (ヘルム・ラムサス・トル・ガルテヌス), also known as "The Vice Ram of Galthens", is a male Hyur and is a player character from Final Fantasy XIV, and a Praefectus Frumentarii in the XIVth Imperial Legion of the Garlean Empire. Ramsus is the Commanding Praefectus Castrorum of the Regnum Garlemald, a Garlean Nobles' organization who work as a pro magistrate of the Garlean Court itself in Eorzea. Exercising great power, Ramsus intends to win the Garlean Court's favor in this troubled time for The Empire.

Ramsus is voiced by Christian Sekhanan, Voice Actor and Creator of the Youtube Machinima "Final Fantasy Still".

» Khar Ramsus wears Fighter's Cuirass over a white full body mail with gold plating. His body armor has a full neck of White fleece. His main weapon in battle is a Great Axe named the Cermet Velius ((Rampager)) built with Ceruleum technology. Ramsus's military might is what has won him many accolades and favor in the eyes of the Garlean populace.

Despite Ramsus originally being part of the XIVth Legion, he is one a handful of Garleans who do not sympathize with Gaius's motivations. Gaius's faith in ability over nobility made him popular with the populace, but it was a philosophy not shared by many of the longstanding military Noble Houses in Garlemald. House Galthens, whose lineage has served the Empire a great many generations, easily fell in ranks during Gaius's regime as Legion Legatus. Despite the Galtentinian Dynasty being that of noble origins they were far from popular and have wilted in terms of wealth. Many of the elder Galthens have found themselves outclassed and thus sank the family's reputation lower. It was not until a young Khar Ramsus' noteworthy military achievements that the Galtentinian House rose in popularity. Being the only breadwinner of his family for a long time, Ramsus has made it his personal goal to win the Garlean Court's favor and revive the Galtentinian name to its former splendor.

After the fall of the XIVth Legion in the hands of the Eorzean Alliance, Ramsus quickly beseeched the Garlean Court to keep a fragment of the legion in Eorzea. Ramsus's request was granted and he was named Praefectus of a small satellite fleet duly named the Regnum Garlemald. Ramsus immediately appointed his younger brother Azureus Galthens (a.k.a The Blue Wolf of Galthens) as chief strategist for the Regnum, naming him Primus Palatinus. Despite Ramsus being named Praefectus of the fleet, he invested most command to his younger siblings, particularly Azureus, as a way to expand his family's power.

» "Ramsus Galthens (whole name is Khar Ramsus Vold Galthens) is an imperial military man from the Galtentinian Dynastic lineage. Ramsus believes himself a "true garlean" and believes that only those of Garlean descent have the right to rule or place themselves highly in the Garlean social structure. Ever prejudice and highly opinionated, Ramsus dislikes Gaius's methods and how Gaius believes in ability over nobility. Ramsus particularly harbors hatred for Rhitatyn for he has achieved the rank of Tribunus despite not being of Garlean descent and for being a Roegadyn.

» Proportional to his contempt for others, Ramus's love for his own blood is strong. He would gladly take a shot for anyone of his blood line and extends even to those he considers "true gar leans". Ramsus is pride and prejudice against other nations and its races. Civil only to Hyur, Ramsus belittles all other races believing them to be a "more sentient" form of beast men. Ramsus is very easily perceived as a man whose sole motivation in life is to bring honor to his family and nation. Though often extreme in his zeal, Ramsus is often empathized by his fellowmen and seen as somewhat of a hometown-hero. Since he was young, Ramsus was honed into the man he is now: Passionate and duty-bound. He is the picture of Garlean patriotism and never acts out of turn. Though not a military woman, Ramsus's Mother, Raminerva, trained him very hard in the art of war, spending much time and money to shape him as the perfect soldier in his formative years."

THE HOUSE OF GALTHENS

The Galthens house was founded by it's forefather Judge Galtentine (PIVS OTHO GALTENTINIVS), a Garlean Judge who served the Emperor's Tribunal Court. From his line bore the House Galthens, a family line that has served the Empire since its dawning. Every generation of the Galthens line has produced either politician or military man brought up and carefully trained to succeed each previous seat the family held. When a Galtentinian man sat as a tribunus his son, upon conception, is molded to take his very seat when his time has come. Thus the power of their family only stands to grow.

»In-Character Though Ramsus had received training in the use of the Pilus (Spear) as well as in hand-to-hand combat, his trademark weapon is the Great Axe to which he was known to have plowed through enemy ranks. Ramsus has made quite the reputation for pulling as many foes as he can and crushing them all together as oppose to isolating his opponents on a 1-vs-1 bout. This style of mowing through packs of his enemies has earned him the title "The Vice Ram".

» Cermet Velius Upon reaching the status of Primi Ordines, Ramsus's mother had Garlean Researchers issue him a Ceruleum enhanced Great Axe which was specifically designed to fit his style of combat. This weapon was thrice enhanced: first was its tempering using Thavnairan materials (Velius), second was its Ceruleum enhancement (Ceruleum Velius), and third was having its plating replaced with Cermet, a very stalwart material. Hence this version be called the Cermet Velius. Although it was designed and modeled after the Great Axe "Rampager", it is looked upon by Garlean weaponsmiths as a vast improvement, rivaling the might of the Relic Weapons from master Gerholt himself.
