Skills: Wart is a skilled scientist and a skilled combatant. Using a mix of learned warrior's intuition and his own scientific gadgetry, Wart has become just as fierce of a combatant as his much taller counterparts. Underestimating Wart has been a fatal mistake of many enemies. He is an accomplished alchemist, a brilliant inventor, and a brave fighter. Aside from his use of science in combat, he also possesses two decades of combat experience.

Flaws: Wart has no skill for magic whatsoever. In addition, his small and frail figure has always held him back physically from his peers.

History

Wart's history is somewhat shrouded in mystery and hearsay. What is known for certain is that he was born Wowonji Totonji and received the nickname "Wart" during his time in the Brass Blades, which he joined at age sixteen, immediately after Ala Mhigo was occupied. He fought alongside Ala Mhigo resistance groups during his youth, but left to become an adventurer. At some point, Wart's patriotism for Ul'dah was completely reversed and he expatriated from the city-state. The cycles between whenever he left Ul'dah and the Calamity are full of hazy information. It's widely believed that he became a mercenary and explorer. It is known for certain though that his combat inventions increased significantly during this time because of a monetary influx. After the Calamity, Wart was seen again more often. He helped protect from looters in many of the city-states during their reconstruction. About a cycle after the Calamity, however, he disappeared into anonymity again. The most popular theory is that he continued his recent trend of being a traveling do-gooder.

Personality

Social: Wart is a bit of a rough-and-tumble sort of guy. Despite his great intelligence, he is often seen hanging around less-than-savory ruffians. At his core, Wart is a very good person, but he tends to cover that side of him up with bravado. He has a severe case of "Little Dog Syndrome" and constantly feels the need to prove himself. He can be a little rough around the edges when it comes to manners, but he means well and he has a strong sense of humor.

Combat: In a fight, Wart tends to think on his feet faster than most. He will usually take a severe beating when fighting powerful enemies because of his size, but he's quick to recover. He has been known to take out equally experienced Roegadyn consistently.

Religion: Wart is not religious by any means. He does not entirely reject religion, but he sometimes will make remarks suggesting that he sees religion as a bunch of fairy tales. His patron deity is Thaliak, the Scholar, because of both his personal beliefs and the moon in which his namesday falls.

Speech: Wart speaks in a very cynical tone. He often uses curse phrases and calls people names that they may not approve of. When around a close friend or someone he respects, however, Wart's tone quickly turns to normal speech patterns, demonstrating that he's only rude and vulgar to show that he's tough.

Appearance

Physical

Wart is different from most other lalafell. While most lalafell present a friendly, cute, and wide-eyed appearance, Wart is dirty, tired, and hungry. He has less of the natural roundness that comes with being a lalafell than most of his people do. His arms and chest are slightly more toned and muscular, as well. His face is covered in dirt and he has large unkempt sideburns. His hair is greasy and falls flat on his face, sometimes covering his eyes. His ears lack the perk of his kin and, while still pointy, tend to jut straight out as opposed to pointing upward.

Clothing and Armor

Wart usually wears simple clothing. Drab colored workman's clothes tend to be his favorite. He often wears a dirty cloth tied into a turban or bandanna on his head. His armor is always heavy to facilitate his inventions and successfully protect his small frame, though he leaves ample joint room for ease of movement. Wart's shields are usually large enough to protect his entire body when crouched, and he has many inventions or chemicals usually attached to these as well. Even in full battle armor, Wart sometimes wears a small satchel to carry his belongings in.
