Basic Info

Desmond is a wanderer. He has no allegiances but secretly yearns to find his place in the world. It is because of this that he travels all of Eorzea, searching for a home he can call his own.

History

Desmond was born the first son of a middle class family residing in Uldah. As a child, he was quiet, rarely making more than one or two friends at a time. His father, a merchant of some success, aspired to elevate his family to the higher echelons of Uldah'n society. Desmond's introspective, daydreamer demeanor and aspirations of philosophy were ill suited to follow his father's example unlike his younger, more ambitious brother Edmond, who quickly became the favored son. Over time, Desmond's place in the family fell into doubt, it wasn't without precedent for a firstborn son to be ostracized and rather than allow himself to be forsaken, he instead chose to leave on his own terms. He has wandered ever since, refusing to admit to himself that he is an involuntary vagrant.

Personality

Desmond retains his introverted personalty from his youth and coupled with the sting of his familial rejection, is not eager to open up to new relationships. When he does however, there isn't a more dedicated and thoughtful friend. This dedication to his friends led to him naturally gravitating to the Gladiator job, drawing danger away from others.

He has formed few relationships but is often seen with an animated female Miqote who seems undisturbed by his aloof personality.
