●●●'RET-CON STORY CHANGE'●●●

The Situation: Talyn had been interacting with a character on a story in which I clearly warned the other person, OOC, that such actions would lead to a rather sizable bounty to be placed on their character's head. The other player has now chosen to drop the story line. I admit it being in reaction to poor execution on my timing and approach for part of the story, and perhaps his realization that it was a bad direction for his character, either way that character is no longer part of Talyn's story. The situation that was unfolding was not a direction I truly wanted to be involved in anyway, so better to end it entirely. (As the threat of a bounty was to have done much sooner.)

The Solution: To avoid having to Ret-Con those who had been part of the story line, or seen the events from the sidelines, a player made NPC will assume the role of the other player's character.

WARNING: Yes, I will allow whatever you want to play out to happen with my characters, as long as it is within a story arc and you are over 21 for certain situations. I will also warn you OOC and IC of the consequences of those actions. You need to ask yourself if you truly want to follow that route with your character. Do not want people seeking your character's head? Do not stalk or force yourself upon my weak characters. Yes, I will RP it, but I will also carry through on my warnings that your character will be hunted.

If the average citizen of Ul'dah were asked to describe Talyn they would say she is a very shy and quiet young midlander that almost always wears a travel cloak with the hood pulled up and forward.

Those who have seen her without her hood describe an amethyst-eyed petite huyr that might mange beauty if she were not always wearing drab-toned hempen tunics with most of her hair pulled into a tight braid against the back of her head, leaving only a short, jaw-length layer framing her face.

Talyn vanished from Ul'dah for a long period, not unusual with Ala Mhigan's refugees, but reports in the Quicksand rumor mill indicate she looked unwell the last time anyone saw her and was lead out of the city by Zeryr, the dark armored elezen sellsword from Pearl Lane.

At last returning to Ul'dah, Talyn had only just entered the Quicksand when her robed figure was spotted by the Overseer Kano Kokorogakure. Rumor says the two ran a chase through Ul'dah that ended on Pearl Lane with what seemed to have been a misunderstanding on the young lady's part.

Hours later Talyn and a white haired miqo'te in a mask made a late evening commotion in the Quicksand that ended with Talyn slipping free of her cloak and fleeing the establishment, leaving a baffled looking miqo'te with her travel cloak and the travel bag filled with her jewelery making supplies.

She has not been reported to be seen in Ul'dah since.

• When she first arrived in Ul'dah Talyn tried to avoid notice, staying back from others and simply watching unless approached or invited to participate in something. She slowly began to be more outgoing, but has recently had several encounters that have reminded her she is not as ready for conflict as she would like.
• Often wears a travel cloak with the hood pulled forward as she stands off to the back of an area and observes what is going on.
• Talyn never seems to use aetherytes or chocobos, walking anywhere she goes.
• Rarely carries a visible weapon, but has been known to carry cesti around at times, presumably given to her by someone at the pugilist's guild when she visits it.
• Does not like to drink things handed to her by others. When she does drink she prefers anything with hard liquor in it.

How She Makes a Living She can sometimes be found selling inexpensive items on Pearl Lane.

• Cloth-crafts: Mostly hempen bandannas with bits of beads and things decorating many of them, some cotton. Also gloves and hempen yarns threaded with beads for weaving.
• Jewelery: Copper and leather necklaces, rings, earrings and bracelets.
• Alchemy: Minor healing potions good for little more than cough syrups or to aid against infections. Also scented perfumes and bath salts.
• Misc: A variety of leftover items from working on custom orders for items such as decorative scepters with glass gemstones to bits of wrought iron and even some eating utensils.

Biography: Revealed during RP

When outside, Talyn can sometimes be seen being followed by a chocobo that will often fight to protect her if present when there is danger.

Lost Lil' Chocobo

While exploring the area up toward Gridania, Talyn found herself a bit north of the city and into an cold area with patches of snow. Turning around she headed back toward Gridania, but soon realized she was being followed.

A scared and injured little chocobo had followed her away from the foothills of the highlands. Too thin and feathers caked in mud here and there the Lost Lil Chocobo stayed back but kept following Talyn. She eventually coaxed the chocobo to let her tend to its wounds and it has since followed her quite often.

After talking to several stable owners in the Shroud and failing to find an owner, Talyn declined a suggestion to go up into Coerthas and left the search for the chocobo's owner up to the people of Bentbranch Meadows.

Hours after leaving the Chocobo at Bentbrach Talyn again became aware of the little fellow following her back toward Thanalan. She does not have to heart to chase the poor guy off and has recently made a basic saddle for Lost to carry potions to use in tending to the chocobo should he be injured again as well as a large book on the proper care and training of chocobos that she came across.

RELATIONS ♥ Romantic Interest ♥ Platonic Love ● Good Standing ● Neutral Standing ● Poor Standing ● Zeryr Roemeaux : Talyn met Zeryr due to a mutual preference for quiet areas that few people frequent, specifically the end of Peal Lane. She is always more relaxed if Zeryr is in the alleyway than when she is there alone. She can sometimes be seen seated across from him, sometimes close to where he sits, depending on how unsettled she is at the time (more unsettled she is, the closer to where he is she will be). Zeryr has helped Talyn on at least two occasions: aiding her on an excursion into Copperbell Mines and saving her from the Amalj'aa, as a result she feels safer when he is around and has come to consider him the closest thing she has to a friend. She only ever sleeps when he is present. ● Cyril Sorel : Talyn met Cyril after overhearing him talking to Castlebane near the Quicksand. They have spoken on several occasions since, including one instance where Talyn sought possible protection from a potential threat when Zeryr was not in the alleyway. Cyril is the only person other than Aya and Momodi from whom Talyn has not only accepted a glass, but also drank from it. ● Sasha Rochester : Talyn was introduced to Sasha by Zeryr and slowly has come to consider her almost a friend (which says a lot about how well Talyn likes Sasha, since Talyn has never had friends before, only acquaintances). Sasha is one of the few people Talyn truly relaxes around, despite the appearance Talyn has created that she is working against Sasha. Talyn has been involved in events surrounding Sasha on several occasions and knows Castlebane, the person who is after Sasha. ● Sebastian Castlebane : Talyn met Castlebane because of overhearing him and Cyril near the Quicksand. Her last interaction with Castlebane was in the Quicksand, when the man hired Talyn to assassinate someone. ● Shanra Fhey : Talyn met Shanra where she meets most of the people she comes to know, the small alcove just outside the Quicksand on Pearl Lane. They ran into one another several more times before sitting to talk in the quicksand when Talyn was trying to avoid someone else. Talyn has found Shanra to be easy to relax around, even when Talyn is on edge, and Talyn shared with Shanra that Talyn hopes to one day have a place she can have a garden and share the comforts of home with those without a home of their own. ● Niklas Gran (Leader of The Gran Knights) : Talyn was only in Ul'dah for less than a day when she was approached by the energetic leader of the Gran Knights, who expressed concern at her sitting alone in the alleyway behind the Quicksand. Uneasy about his intention she nevertheless accepted his invitation to join his free company, under the caution that she would not stay for long. Uneased by Niklas' apparent desire to seek out suspected Garleans in the area, Talyn chose to leave the company rather than have unwanted trouble find her and was named an Honorary Gran Knight by Niklas and agreed to let him know if she learned of anything suspicious in the Ul'dah area. ● Xanat Barahime Knights of Xentar <<Xntar>> (Leader) : After she left the company of Gran Knights, Talyn found herself invited to join another free company by the company's leader. She provided what little she could to the efforts of the free company, but in the end left it to form her own small company. ● Uriel Neishin : Talyn first encountered the 'Scary Bird Lady' on Pearl Lane when Uriel took interest in Talyn's bag of jewelry making supplies. Talyn that Talyn has had a few encounters with and has taken to avoiding. ● Kano Kokorogakure : An elezen that Talyn is avoiding encountering again after she gave him false information. Kano chased Talyn through the Gold Court area of Ul'dah when she ran from him. Talyn made it back to Pearl Lane where Zeryr saw the trouble and stood by in case Talyn needed assistance. Kano offered Talyn a bag of gil for having aided him on their first meeting then left, ominously indicating that he was not finished. ● Masked Miqo'te : A masked miqo'te that approached Talyn in the Quicksand when she was trying to avoid Kano. The miqote's actions, while seemingly not intended to scare her, caused Talyn to run from him. He tracked her to an area near the Gladiator's guild where she fled from him once again. She actively avoided him and while he seemed to observers to be accepting of her preference to avoid him, he later tracked her down to a mythril mining camp in South Thanalan and is reported to have chased after her from there to Byregot's Strike then toward Little Ala Mhigo, cornering her in a dead end just below there. Zeryr had seen the chase through the canyon on is way to where he was to meet Talyn and faced the miqo'te down, resulting in the miqo'te feinting an attack and leaving the area. This will also reflect thing that happen in public places - such as chasing her or causing someone to come to her aid.
