Kleio Dorne

Kleio Dorne, the daughter of an Ale Mistress and an Artist, is an earnest and hardworking young woman, determined to earn her way in the world on her own. Having only recently left her homeland of Gridania to become an adventurer, she soon found upon arriving in Ul'dah that even fledgling adventurers require a bit of gil in order to get started. As such, she has recently become a waitress at the Wayfarer's Rest in order to earn the coin to buy the weapons, armors, and supplies necessary for her aspiring ventures.

Appearance & Personality

■ Appearance: Kleio tends to be on the small size of average in terms of stature. Her height, together with her pale and lightly freckled skin, dark hair, and green eyes, may sometimes leads others to gain the impression that Kleio is a delicate, innocent sort of girl. However, beneath what might be gleamed from an initial inspection, some might notice that Kleio is heartier than she appears, having the strength, muscle tone and endurance that would be typical to one who has long trained with the lance, not to mention worked at her mother's side at her family pub.

■ Personality: Having recently moved away from the familiarity of her home in Gridania to Ul'dah, Kleio has the tendency to appear nervous (which often leads to her rambling nonsense at times), even though she attempts to go out of her way to make new friends and acquaintances.

Biography

Childhood & Teenage Years

Kleio had what many would consider an idyllic childhood, even though her earliest years were spent in Gridania, a bit before and after the time of The Calamity. However, she was shielded from much of the trauma and hardship associated with this event by her parents, who would go to great lengths to protect their two daughters from learning too much of the event at such young ages. At times not allowed to leave the family home, Kleio spent much of her time with her sister as her childhood playmate, and ultimately her closest friend and confidant.

As Kleio grew into a young woman her parents began to allow her to go about the town more independently. During this time, she developed an interest in joining the Wood Wailers much like many young Gridanians, if but only for a means to make friends with others her age. Soon she began to train with a retired Wailer to learn the lance, and to her surprise, Kleio proved to have some talent with the weapon. It was not long before what began as a means to make friends with others, became a passion.
