Each day, she would come to the city and play with this boy who lived an entirely different life than her, before returning to the tribe and continuing to learn their shamanistic arts. In these years, the two became child crushes, G'migo often bringing small presents from outside the city walls for Theodemar as a way of showing her affection. It was these years she remembers most fondly, and helped kindle her love for Ala Mhigo, always thinking herself of an Ala Mhigan first rather than a member of the Griffon tribe.

Instead, she and the other children, elderly, and sick were sent west to try and hide from the fighting. For, should the revolution fail, surely they would be hunted by the Mad King for association with rebels, alongside any others who had been remotely related to those who stood against him. They had been at the borders of Gridania when news reached them of the revolution's victory, as well as the Garlean invasion which had begun soon after. : When the revolution began, she was only eight years old and so woefully unfit to fight with her father and mother in the streets of Ala Mhigo. It was the decision of the elders of the tribe to migrate entirely with many other refugees, heading south-west to arrive in La Noscea and beginning to set up a new life in the camps at the borders of these new lands. They enjoyed the softer, more tropical climate, and the abundance of water and grass was found to be a pleasant contrast to the hard mountains of their home.

: Over the years, her training as a shaman continued, yet she grew resentful of remaining in Thanalaan for it only reminded her of the home she couldn't fight to protect. Eventually, a Roegadyn much older than herself passed through where her tribe had set up it's camp in search of others wishing to free Ala Mhigans still trapped behind the wall. G'migo jumped at this chance, dragging her sister G'xavi along with her as they went north with this Roegadyn named Vaunted Mountain, soon making their way into the Black Shroud and making temporary camps near in the twelveswood, only a stone's throw from Baelsar's wall.
+
: G'migo, never one for staying in the tribe for too long, took as many trips to Limsa Lominsa as she could at such a young age. Eventually, while in the port city, she found her way into the Arcanist's guild while her guardian haggled the price of the game her sister, G'xavi, had caught. While inside, she had become enraptured by the amount of tomes and books they had out on display. Whether they be ledgers, tomes on arcanima, or grimoires, she was just amazed by the amount of books out there.

: For nearly a year she acted as a medic for those who went beyond the wall to aid the resistance back in Gyr Abania, stealing away refugees to help lead to freedom through the tunnels. She mostly aided the refugees themselves, who had gotten injuries on their way to the resistance rather than in any real fights, Vaunted Mountain fearing what repercussions could come to the people still trapped in Gyr Abanaia should they assault a patrol. This lead to long times where they would have to constantly move camp and simply train while they waited, rather than act for fear of the repercussions which would be felt not by themselves, but their fellow Ala Mhigans still trapped.
+
: When she returned to the tribe, and the shamans began to try and teach her once more, she began telling them of the Arcanist's guild. Rather than stifle this interest, the shamans encouraged her to learn instead, hoping she would have an easier time of this than learning their shamanistic ways. The next time she returned to Limsa, she joined the guild and began her training as an arcanist, albeit to a lesser degree due to her young age.

: Yet, in these long periods where many of their group simply trained or relaxed, G'migo grew anxious instead. She felt her abilities were reaching their peak, and feared that she would eventually be unable to help those close to her should they become too injured. She saw every new person taken on as someone else she may fail if fighting began, and knew she needed to learn even stronger magics. Remembering old stories of how the shamans of her tribe learned their magics, she made plans with her sister and two others: They would head east of the wall and into Gyr Abania in search of a zigguraut.
+
: Her training went well, and she learned the secrets of arcanima down in the training chambers. She was even able to summon force a carbuncle and control it earlier than what was expected. Though she had a few hiccups in her career, she flourished as an arcanist, her mind working in ways she had never thought it would. She devoured any book given to her, reading through it as quickly as possible, even foregoing much of her sleep in order to finish a book.

: It was in this zigguraut, which had become infested by Man-eating Qirqin, that she found what she needed. The fighting was fierce for a time, and even she had taken a few wounds from the Qirin before they could route them for a short time. Yet, inside, she found texts from the ancient city of Amdapor, albeit vague and faded, new material she could learn from. She had little time before the Qirin began to return in force, forcing them to leave behind many tomes which would have been helpful, yet still she left with half a dozen tomes which were still legible.
+
: She learned the ancient language of Nym, arcanima, the art of record-keeping, and even partial ancient Allagan. She wasn't the fastest in this by a longshot, yet the passion she showed allowed her to keep up with others. It was this passion that signed her on as an unnofficial apprentice to an arcanist who was coming along to translate ancient Nymian slabs, G'migo coming to do the same.

: Returning to the camp, Vaunted was furious with them for leaving without his say, and risking their lives and injuring themselves for some books. His rage was soon overshadowed by worry, both for their safety, and the safety of all of Eorzia: The red moon of Dalamud had begun it's descent. They could do nothing but watch helplessly as it slowly came down day after day, G'migo even forgetting about her tomes while they waited and watched. As it drew close enough that the lines upon it's surface could be made out, Vaunted ordered all of them to pack up camp and move into Gridania, hoping the city-states themselves would at least be spared from what was to come.
+
: When they arrived at the site, their benefactor paying for the excavation being a rich Ul'dahn who owned Eorzean Excavations. When they arrived and set up camp, all was going according to plan, as they already had unearthed some tablets which G'migo and her master worked on translating, though many of them had been ruined by either clumsy workers or hundreds of years of weathering, making them nearly illegible.

: It was a few days later, after they had delved deeper into the ruins that they had found the real prizes which were buried deep. Tablets which still had full paragraphs on them, and a stone block with wards written all around it. G'migo and her master worked all day translating tomes in hopes of figuring out what the stone block was for. Yet, when no answers came, her master went to drink with the miners in hopes of clearing his mind for the night while G'migo continued working, her mind set on unlocking this stone's possible secrets.

: This tireless work paid off, as she finally read the slab which housed the secret to opening this magically sealed stone chest. Reading it aloud, all that was inside was a small purple stone and writing all along the inside of this chest. Yet, once her hand touched the stone, it painted a clearer picture: A light flashed as a small fey creature began flying about. Stunned, she read the inside of the chest using the creature's light to figure out just what she was not dealing with. These words revealed the secrets of the scholar and it's faerie to her, and rather than turn this in to the dig team, she pocketed the stone and willed the faerie away before rushing to her master to have him ensure she translated the box's inscriptions correctly.
 +

 +
: After that event, the dig dried up as money had to be pushed elsewhere, forcing G'migo and her master back to the arcanist's guild. It was only here that she finally showed her master what she had found, allowing the faerie out once more and pleading with him to not report it to the guildmaster or Eorzean Excavations. Finally, after enough pleading, he decided to remain quiet about it, seeing that if it was returned to Ul'Dah it would likely just gather dust in a collector's store room rather than find use.

: For years she continued her studies, and even managed to get signed on to a few more excavations of Nymian ruins which helped her further her abilities as a scholar. This came to end eventually, as a stranger came through Limsa which her sister met with, and soon begged G'migo to come with as well. It was a roegadyn who hailed from Ala Mhigo, named Vaunted Mountain, who had been searching for other Ala Mhigans to join him in his fight. It seems he had been fighting to free other Ala Mhigans from Gyr Abania, working through secret tunnels to help them flee west. Hearing these stories, it lit a fire in G'migo's belly, her pride as an Ala Mhigan returning in full force as she didn't hesitate for a moment to go with him, her sister doing the same. It wasn't long before they were off to Gridania, meeting up with the rest of the resistance group Vaunted led, and setting up camp just a stone's throw from Baelsar's wall.

They had almost entirely forgotten about their mission to help Ala Mhigo, focusing on the destruction around them instead. When they finally left to camp near Baelsar's wall once more, G'migo was only reminded of the books by chance, accidentally knocking over the burlap sack she had been keeping them in.
+
: In the months following the calamity, they worked hard to help rebuild Gridania, hoping to curry some good will from the Gridanians before returning to their previous work. Yet, the calamity left G'migo shaken and fearful of that feeling of helplessness. She began re-studying the tomes she had brought with her from Limsa Lominsa, and training with her faerie more often, spending just as much time reading as she was healing even the slightest injury on those who needed it. She was a new woman, doing everything she could to enhance her skills and knowledge so she may better her strengths as a medic and a scholar.

: It took her months to read a single book due to the vague wording and faded ink, and from there had to re-read the book once more. She spent many sleepless nights doing this in the near dark, ruining her eyesight as she strained herself to try and get through just a single passage more. Yet, each passage she read, the easier it became to understand what was written, and the next time she read the same tome through, it was faster and easier once more. She repeated this process for two tomes at least, until finally she felt she was ready to try something new, yet ancient at the same time.

From an early age, she learned from her tribes shamans the art of healing magic and reading, and it was from this young age she found her love of reading and desire to heal others. Once the revolution began, the young and elderly of the tribe were sent west to avoid the main fighting while the adults went to fight for Ala Mhigo, G'migo's mother and father included.

Appearance & Personality

Standing at an average height and with a full body, G'migo looks well kept in all regards. From her hair nearly combed and washed to her well maintained attire, in towns she is always found spotless if possible. Her voice is silvery, if slightly matter-of-factly, a tone which has only recently come to her. Always found in her blue robes and grey cloak, the only indication left of her tribe is that of the purple feather which remains in her hair from when she has been learning from the tribe's shamans back in the mountains of Gyr Abania.
Having lived much of her life away from Gyr Abania, yet always remembering her happiest days while there, she has become fiercely patriotic for Ala Mhigo... Even if many of the ideas and memories she has are warped memories or fabricated from stories passed down to her. Having joined the resistance as early as she could and helping aid those she could flee from tunnels dug under Baelsar's Wall, it has left an impact on her personality which has made her cautious around new people of whom she has not been introduced by others.

Biography

G'migo was born to the Griffon tribe, and raised by her mother and the shamans of the tribe in her early years. Her mother was a huntress, and would take G'migo to the markets of Ala Mhigo where she sold the hides of the kills she had made for the day. It was here she met her childhood friend, Theodemar Stoutheart, for her mother sold meats at one of the stalls owned by his parents.
When the revolution began, she was only eight years old and so woefully unfit to fight with her father and mother in the streets of Ala Mhigo. Instead, she and the other children, elderly, and sick were sent west to try and hide from the fighting. For, should the revolution fail, surely they would be hunted by the Mad King for association with rebels, alongside any others who had been remotely related to those who stood against him. G'migo, never one for staying in the tribe for too long, took as many trips to Limsa Lominsa as she could at such a young age. Eventually, while in the port city, she found her way into the Arcanist's guild while her guardian haggled the price of the game her sister, G'xavi, had caught.
