Wansuke is a fairly reserved character. He seeks companionship with people he finds interesting, be they warriors, or scholars, though he is clearly more comfortable with those who walk the streets at night. He sees people more for the potential that they hold, and doesn't think for their pasts. Little he does betrays what he really thinks of the matter at hand, and the man seems enigmatic as a result. Regardless, he is polite, and very much caring to women.

Biography

Wansuke Naeuri was an orphan taken in by a remote Doman temple. The priest there was a kindly scholar, and often encouraged the boy to read. The young Wansuke, however, preferred hard labor to sitting around trying to understand tomes written by age-old philosophers past. The temple had a few more children around his age, but the boy was a recluse nonetheless. A few years into the imperial occupation, they were finally discovered, the priest killed, and the temple subsequently pillaged - and Wansuke was enlisted into the imperial forces at a tender adolescence. The young man quickly learned the benefits of adaptability. He adopted a Garlean name, and worked to keep the peace within Doma. When the House of the Fierce came with the plan to liberate the capital during the imperial battles for succession, he secretly pledged his effort to the cause, ill-fated as it was.

Disillusioned, and unable to return to his place among the imperials, he came back to his old name and sailed with the rest of the refugees to Vesper Bay. As an act of repentance, he stayed with those too sick and old to move to Revenant's Toll - finding work as a laborer to support them all in Ul'dah. It was here that he was drawn into a plan to enact revenge against the Garleans, tasked to infiltrate the Ivy's league. He became involved in mercenary work, then other, more unseemly business, and he rationalized that it was for the greater good.

Not long after, his conspirators disappeared, and then, the Ivy was arrested, leaving a power vacuum amongst the underground circles of the city. It was then that Wansuke took up the mantle and formed a group concerned with the manufacturing and distribution of somnus. Plagued with insomnia, he had long indulged in the drug, until he met the person who set him on the right path. With nowhere left to turn, though, he manages the trade at his own pace, seeking now to expand into Hingashi and Gyr Abania.

♦ Vaeles Dazkar - A kind healer who he introduced somnus to, under the guise of an alternative anesthetic. The Xaela man treated him to grilled fish at his home, and has welcomed Wansuke to drop by since.

♦ Patsu'a Kett - They met on the eve of Starlight, and Wansuke accompanied the man as he was unceremoniously kicked out of the Quicksands for insulting some of the men of the night there. He watched as the keeper took a smoke, and gentle ribbing turned into something more. Patsu introduced him to the Nal syndicate, which Wansuke intends to become a supplier for.

♦ K'k Slider - A wandering performer he met in his first foray into Ul'dah's primary tavern. Introduced to Wansuke his love for traveling, was the first to take him to Limsa Lominsa, his second ever destination in Eorzea. One of the original conspirators, they grew very close.

♦ Xe'no Tu'nak - A Xaela dancer, who brought him to the beaches of Costa del Sol, and clumsily taught him how to dance amidst the waves.
