As the son of a carpenter and a merchant, Korrick didn't really receive any official combat training growing up. He did however, learn to fight. Growing up in Limsa Lominsa meant that most of the other boys were sons of sailors and pirates. Korrick learned quickly that if he wanted to make in his group of friends, he'd have to learn to scrap. For most of his youth, Korrick found himself using his fist to solve problems, and got pretty proficient at winning fights with a mean left hook. When he was older, he began training with a local marauder and the father of a friend, to use an axe. It's been his default weapon for about ten years now, and Korrick can hold his own quite well. If given a choice though, Korrick prefers to through his weapon down and resort to plain old fist. It's more personal that way. </div> | As the son of a carpenter and a merchant, Korrick didn't really receive any official combat training growing up. He did however, learn to fight. "There are two things that matter in life, drinking, and yourself. In that order."
Appearance Korrick is handsome for a pirate. Some might even argue that he's handsome for anyone. With hazel eyes that look gold in some light and green in others, light brown skin, chiseled features, and brilliant smile, he's turned plenty of heads. He's of about average height for a midlander, but keeps in excellent shape. While not overly muscled, his body is lean and toned and he has rather large biceps and deltoids from years of hefting and swinging an axe. He's not one for high fashion and tends to prefer simple trousers and loose shirts- most of which are normally opened at the collar.
Aspects That Stand Out:
Born to a Doman Sailor and merchant, and a Limsan shipwright and carpenter, Korrick's entire life has centered around the sea. From a young age he was trained to work with wood and metal as his father did, learning how to build, repair, and work on ships. His mother taught him the arts of sailing, and how to travel using the stars as a guide. While she also tried to teach him the basics of being a merchant and trader Korrick neither had head for, or interest in, business. Instead, upon reaching adulthood, Korrick set out on his own taking the first ship he could to the Far East, with the intent of finding his own adventure. He didn't quite find it. He did find a very sketchy crew, a rickety ship, and a very dangerous journey. After a bad storm brought damage to the ship and a chance to show off his carpentry skills, Korrick ended the journey with an offer to join the crew of the The Bloody Eft. Now Korrick works as an assistant shipwright, and muscle aboard a relatively "legal" ship. That may or may not occasionally attack trading vessels. His life now consist of traveling port to port, doing whatever his captain requires of him, and enjoying all the pleasures he can along the way.
Notes:
Korrick likes to have fun. In fact, most people who have met him assume that's all he really likes to do. Not one for responsibilities, Korrick in the pursuit of hedonism. He enjoys spending his nights on shore, drinking, laughing, fighting, and dancing the night away. If he's lucky, and he often is, he even finds himself a partner to warm his bed. Korrick for the most part is charming, though that has more to do with his looks than any actual wit on his part. In fact, once someone gets to know him, it's not hard to realize that Korrick's good looks allow him to get away with a lot. While definitely strong and capable, he's not the brightest bulb of the bunch, and the phrase "It's a good thing you're cute." is something he's heard a bit. He's prone to having a flash temper and is quite selfish, as pirates tend to be.
Weapons of Choice
Roleplay combat can be fun, used to progress the story, and serve to break up the monotony of everyday rp. However, I do have a few things to note for those wishing to engage in roleplay combat with me!
