The third in four children, Eirwyn is the only one so far who has expressed a desire to pursue a career in art but due to the current happenings in Eorzea, he feels it inappropriate to openly strive towards that goal solely. He's now at the point wherein he has no idea where he's going but figures he'll find out just as long as he kept working.

When he was young, he'd often accompany his father to Limsa Lominsa to drop off the produce they've harvested to be sold in the market. Aside from dropping by Naldiq & Vymelli's, he'd often wander into the Arcanist's Guild and browse through their books. It's become a common occurance that a trainer took that as Eirwyn being interested in learning arcanima and being someone who has difficulty declining or disappointing someone, he ended up enlisting in the Arcanist's guild. He would be lead elsewhere in a few cycles though, and would not be able to pursue the path of being a customs agent as his simple choice to go with his mother one day when she decided to visit her family in Ul'dah would end up being the reason for him staying there for a couple of cycles.

He stayed behind to learn goldsmithing from the guild in the Steps of Thal. His lessons would soon be cut short with the Calamity happening.

During that time plus the period immediately after Dalamud fell, he decided to assist adventurers, providing aid and assistance ultimately ending up as a temporary retainer for hire. When most of the adventurers that hired him did not come back and when the city was already on the cusp of slowly rebuilding itself, he traveled home.

He'd like to search for other sculptors and maybe watch them work or learn more about the craft from them. Right now, a merchant he usually encounters on the job tipped him on visiting the Oak Atrium at Gridania mentioning that their woodwork is unmatched in the realm. The idea of conquering his fear of handling lumber through learning how to treat it as another medium for sculpting (or carving) is quite enticing for him especially since he feels he hasn't progressed that much in his craft lately due to his job. However, having not been to that area at all, his current goal is to prepare for his eventual trip to the woodland city-state and maybe even visit Ul'dah along the way which was his mother's original residence and where she originally learned making earthenwares.</div></spoiler>

Behavior

» He can be quite absent-minded at times especially when an idea strikes him out of the blue. He is prone to going off in his own little world and usually it takes a moment for him to come back to reality (or realize that someone's talking to him), so he may appear standoffish. He doesn't mean to, of course.

He is very patient with almost anything and is willing to learn new things. He may not look like he's having fun but he is. A sure way to see if he is wary of a person is when he talks a lot or keeps asking a bunch of questions as opposed to him being his normal quiet self. When he is all quiet around someone that means he is comfortable around that person. It makes sense in his head but this may not be the case for everyone. That said, he is open to change provided it isn't forced onto him or that he is pressured to comply.

Quirks & Tics:

» He sometimes makes drawing motions with his hands in mid-air while thinking or visualizing something and as already mentioned he is often absent-minded and can easily walk into a wall if he's not paying attention. Ironically he can be extremely focused when the need calls for it so he rarely panics when he (or his friends) is in danger.
