Kaede is a fairly young apothecary owner and healer, showing great prowess in her skilled use of magic and having been granted a White Mage soulstone as a result, though at great cost to her own health at times. An ex-courtesan and companion, she was born in Gridania proper to a baker and a blacksmith, the latter hailing from Doma, moved to Ul'dah's Pearl Lane to live with her aunt at the age of 12 after her parents passed away in the Calamity that shook Eorzea. Her aunt died a year after and by this time Kaede was very well-versed in thieving, being quick on her feet and having a quick wit to get around. Shortly after her aunts passing, Kaede was cornered by a gang of men after stealing their coinpurses and was saved by a man named Victor, who offered her a job. Unbeknownst to her, this was to be the start of her companionship days and would remain that way till she was 20. Begrudgingly Victor decided to educate her after discovering she had a natural affinity for flora, allowing her to learn how to read and partake in alchemy. It was here that it was discovered she was incredibly intelligent and quick to learn, and Victor felt it best to stifle a large portion of education bar what was necessary for her to become a master of poisons and assassinate others for him, as well as learning their secrets. She finally left his employment, so to speak, after finding out that he had started to deal in selling children and murdering his most generous customer, leading Victor to order an attempt on her life and dump her body in the Sagolii Desert, where she awoke with no memories of who she was or any of her past. A mixture of Gridanian and Doman has led way for some unusual yet stunning features on this young lady. Often fetishised for her looks in the past, she is described as being exceptionally beautiful, her features delicate and only marred by her usual uncaring attitude or scowl - yet even this remains attractive. She often relies on her features to get what she wants - as despite barely knowing what she looks like having glanced in a reflective surface a handful of times since the attempt on her life, she is aware that both men and women can't help but be drawn in by her looks.
She is exactly 5 fulms in height, and incredibly slim. Despite her smallness, she has been lucky enough to have an hourglass figure. She has full lips with no discernable cupids bow, a small nose and large, viridian coloured almond shaped eyes, framed with thick lashes, and she often goes without makeup. A beauty mark is located just underneath her left eye. It is probable she takes more after her mother than her father in colouring, but her other features give her Doman side away, including her dark hair.
