They have plans to return to the Reach as soon as possible. Osric in particular finds Ul’dah to be an affront. ■ The two attended an event hosted by Ala Mhigan refugees to celebrate the coming of winter. Osric began his training in with the Fists at a young age, and grew up learning their doctrines. He remains steadfastly loyal to those few true Fists who remain in the aftermath of the King of Ruin's culling. ■ Rhalgr. The God of Destruction, whom Osric has pledged himself to. The man's extremity for Rhalgr and the teachings surrounding the deity often toe the line on zealotry. ■ Family. Second only to Rhalgr, Osric will go through no small lengths to make sure his sisters are taken care of and protected in these uncertain times. This has extended to training them in hand-to-hand combat much the same way that he was taught. His youngest sisters are the particular focus of this training, with Caithe having taken a different path. Dislikes ■ Garleans. The occupiers of his homeland, Osric will not hesitate to eliminate any Garleans he comes across. They do not deserve any mercy in his eyes. ■ Pacifism. The inability or unwillingness to fight for what it rightfully one's own property is worth no manner of respect from the monk. ■ Weakness. Of the mind, body or spirit. Osric believes that all can and should be honed to their absolute best. Traits ■ Fist of Rhalgr. Born of two devout Fists of Rhalgr, Osric has known the order since childhood. His training began as a young child, and the teachings guide almost his every movement. It is the single most important shaping force of the man. ■ Zealot. The single most important shaping force has a lot of sway over the man, and Rhalgr's teachings are often taken to the level of extremity. Those who would besmirch Rhalgr's name, or the Fists of Rhalgr, are met with little mercy. ■ Resistance Fighter. With his nation under Garlean occupation, his Order in shambles and his people in diaspora, Osric has pledged to fight alongside the Resistance to help see Ala Mhigo and its people return to their former pride and glory. Appearance A hulk of trained muscle and at a towering height of 6'10", the man is a sight to behold. He appears to be in his prime, the repression of his country and people creating unneeded motivation to continue his training. That he fights alongside the Ala Mhigan Resistance helps keep his physical condition rather high. His hair is shaved down close to his skull, a dark red hint to the hair that remains. Carved into the back of his head is the striking comet symbol of Rhalgr. The clean strokes of the symbol suggest that it was done by someone other than the monk himself. NPC Gran ( ♥ ✖ ) ( NPC ) - The Crazy Wisewoman More Caithe's teacher than his, Osric's training with the Fists meant his interactions with Gran were few and far between. Still, the old woman had a mischievous side to her and would often try and teasingly antagonise him to try and get him to have a bit more fun with his youth. Rainard and Magda Faulkner ( ♥ ✖ ) ( NPC ) - The Teachers, the Parents Osric's first teachers as he began to undergo his training as a Fist, he nonetheless never received much in the way of special treatment. Training was hard and harsh, especially through Rainard, who prized physicality. Magda, who took a far more spiritual route, was perhaps the softer of the two. Osric maintains a lot of respect for his parents, even in their deaths. Olina and Nina Faulkner ( ♥ ) ( NPC ) - The Younger Sisters Adopted into their family nearly at birth upon the death of their biological mother, Osric considers his bond with them to be as strong as it would be if they were related by blood. Their safety is paramount, and prompted his and Caithe's escape with them to Thanalan, so they might be safe as war stirs in Gyr Abania. They are still young, in their mid-teens, but he has given them similar training as he received in his youth. Though they have yet to commit to being Fists, with Caithe also coaxing them to walk the path of a shaman, they still know how to defend themselves. PC Caithe Faulkner > ( ♥ ) - The Carver, the Shaman A constant companion and confidant of Osric, he and Caithe have a strong bond, especially in the face of losing most of the home and family that they had grown up with. He's protective of her, as he is with the twins, and often chides her for not taking the path of the Fist. Avelyn Firestone > ( ● ) - The Priestess, the Fist A chance meeting in Winter's Knell, followed by a less-than-chance one in Little Ala Mhigo, taught Osric that not all from his Order were dead and gone. He hold a lot of respect for the woman, especially given her desire to return to Gyr Abania, and her ties to the Resistance make him look forward to working with her in the future. Steel Rose > ( ● ) - The Elder; the Wiseman An Elder Fist of Rhalgr, and a fountain of wisdom, and a possible sparring partner - these are some of the things that help drive Osric's respect towards the elderly Roe. Jojotumi Bubutumi > ( ● ) - The Elder; the Blacksmith; the Drunk Another Elder Fist, with sharp and clever words and an apparent love for alcohol. Osric met him alongside Avelyn and Steel Rose, creating a night of meeting Fists that he hadn't expected to find this side of the Wall. Nako Vesh > ( ● ) - The Blacksmith's Apprentice; Menphina-Lover Jojo's apprentice with a seemingly strong sense of justice. Her worshiping of Menphina over Rhalgr is something that was not lost on the Fist. Ashel Helmsbreaker > ( ● ) - The Arrogant Boy, Progeny of the Corpse Brigade An arrogant youth who made impassioned, and borderline antagonising speeches at Osric in Ul'dah, his words and apparent disrespect caused them to move outside the city wall's to bring the fight he apparently wanted to fruition. Suspecting something more that just cockiness, his heritage was questioned and Osric found him to be an Ala Mhigan youth that felt confused about the path his people have taken. He appealed to Osric for him to teach him to become a Fist. To test the boy's resolve, he has given him a series of tasks before devoting his time and effort into actually lead him down the path of a Fist of Rhalgr. Combat As the name of his Order suggests, Osric's primary weapons are his fists, followed in turn by his legs. Mastering the art of infusing aether into his fighting, his blows are suitably devastating and extremely quick. Unlike some, Osric prefers to try and overwhelm his target; instead of waiting for just the right opening or a break in defense, he tries to overpower them with a series of punches and kicks. This location tab is for pre-Stormblood. ■ Thanalan: Frequent, especially Little Ala Mhigo. ■ Ul'dah: Frequent, but very begrudgingly. Is often dragged their due to his sisters. ■ The Shroud: Sometimes, mostly in areas where Baelsar's Wall is in sight. ■ La Noscea: Sometimes, at least it's warm. ■ Gridania: Sometimes, though he has little love for its denizens. ■ Limsa Lominsa: Rarely. ■ Dravania: Rarely. ■ Coerthas: Rarely, it's far too cold with far too many Ishgardians. ■ Mor Dhona: Rarely, for much the same reason as Coerthas itself. ■ Ishgard: Never. Hooks Most of these hooks are public knowledge, and Osric can be asked about them at any time. ■ Fist of Rhalgr: Osric is always keep an ear and an eye out for someone from his Order. ■ Ala Mhigan Resistance: A proud and loyal member of the Resistance on Gyr Abania's side, Osric is often willing to talk to those who would see to Ala Mhigo's aid. ■ Religious Zealot: Osric is a zealot of Rhalgr. He will often get along with those who share the same value in the God, though his feelings may cause friction with those who would follow a different diety of the Twelve. Those with no religion, or those who would argue against Rhalgr, would likely be met with anger. ■ Garleans: Osric actively hunts down and attempts to kill any Garleans he may come across. Very rarely, if ever, is he sympathetic to those that would claim loyalty to the Empire.
