[edit]
It should have been a different life for Sarantali; one of tending the lore from her family, learning the ways of their magic, and ensuring that her elder brother - the 32nd Sun of the Möngke-Kha - ascended to his responsibility easily as their father grew weak and could no longer lead. They would travel the circuits of trade as they'd done for generations upon generations; tending their herds and plying their trade as Onmyoudo. While in the past the system of Sun and Moon had been established to insure there was little warring between members of family for inheritance, Sarantali was content with her place. Magic came easy to her and not at all to her brother. The act of reading the stars... reading at all, came like riding to the Xaela. If only her elder brother, Narange, shared the same ambitions then all would have been well. The Möngke Kha are scattered now; only a few handfuls known having survived the passage into Eorzea. The chaos of betrayal and slaughter separated the family as they fled to the west; boats meant only to carry livestock and wealth were forced full with as many of the clan as could fit before setting sail in a haphazard departure. Many moons and many lives later, the Möngke-Kha finally arrived in Eorzea, and Now the 32nd Moon has a new duty: to find her Sun and reunited her people so that he may lead properly or to become the Sun, herself.
To call Sarantali "small" would be a vast understatement as the Xaela stands at least a head under the height of most women of her race. Regardless, she has strong legs from riding and a physique sculpted more by the daily labor of her tribe than not. Her hair is long, past her shoulders and henna'd pink to ostensibly match her eyes, contrasting with her blue-toned pale skin. When her back is bear one can see the two tattoos that she sports; two birds intertwined in a circle on her left shoulder, and an elegant script of her family's history in three lines on the left, right, and down her spine.
Almost universally Sarantali favors clothing best suited for a long wear; leathers and thicker fabrics with her sense of fashion appeased by the bright colors or intricate patterns of dye or embroidery on her garb.
