H I S T O R Y

A note before reading further: All the information on this page is of Lefay just as I began RPing her. This wiki page will not be edited to reflect her growth or changes in her character. For more up-to-date information check her tumblr.

Lefay was born and raised in the mountains of Gyr Abania right on the edge of Xelphatol. The Garlean invasion of Ala Mhigo and surrounding areas was already underway when she was born, but the tribe believed that they would not make it all the way to the mountains. When it became apparent that the Garleans would not be stopped by anyone but the three Grand Companies, the huntresses of the tribe ceased trying to bear children so they would be ready to run if the time came. As such, Lefay and her younger sister Saheena were the only children in their small tribe. They grew up as pampered as could be, and received special attention from their Nunh father and priestess mother. Their sires as well as the other members of the tribe tried to teach them as much as they could about tribal life to ensure their tribe lived on in the next generation.

When Lefay was eight the decision was made for the tribe to flee to Gridania before their presence in the mountains went noticed. However the two girls were too large to carry, but not yet large enough to run and hide with the rest of the tribe. Their mother made the difficult decision of hiding them away in a small cabin to give them a chance of survival. Though young, the sisters knew how to care for themselves, and with heavy hearts the rest of the W tribe descended the mountain towards potential freedom, vowing to come back for the two precious girls in less than a cycle.

The first few moons were difficult for the sisters, and the first winter nearly killed them, but thanks to the survival skills passed on they were able to make it through. Lefay was adept at gathering plants to eat and Saheena had a talent for trapping animals. Though Lefay never ate any meat, the furs proved invaluable and animal fat ensured they had candles to burn through the nights and long mountain winters. The sisters established a daily routine and then a seasonal rhythm as well. Cycles passed and the girls grew into strong and resourceful young women, if incredibly sheltered.

When Lefay was ninteen, the sanctuary of their mountain was broken by encroaching Garlean patrols. Saheena befriended a Garlean conscript, little more than their slave, and freed her from their control. This, paired with Lefay freeing a pegasus from a Garlean menagerie, meant that it was time for them to flee. On the back of the pegasus the sisters and the conscript, Mira, successfully made it to Gridania. With only her sister and a few belongings as remnants of her home and tribe, Lefay prepared to enter a completely new world far outside of her own small bubble.

P E R S O N A L I T Y

Lefay is an innocent sheltered child in many social ways, and is unable to hide how she feels. She's typically shy at first, but quick to trust and befriend. In general she tends to be optimistic and trusting, though if this trust burns her she'll carry the sting for a long time. Lefay can tolerate, and even greatly enjoy, socializing, but in order to clear her head and recharge she needs time just to herself. She's not incapable or unwilling to lie, but she's terrible at it and tries to avoid being dishonest as much as she can.

F A M I L Y

Lefay was born into a small W tribe and considers them all family. She is especially close to Saheena, her younger sister, who was born less than a year after she was. Since Saheena was the only person she had once her tribe left, the two went from close to inseparable and the sisters would do anything for each other. She had many half-sisters and their huntress mothers that helped raise her and Saheena, and a few half-brothers that she didn't see much of. When she was young, Lefay was nearly inseparable from her mother, W'namid. Her mother was the crown jewel of the tribe and as priestess was their spiritual foundation. She was a creature of beauty and grace, the cornerstone of the tribe, and a celebrated firedancer. Lefay followed her around as much as she could to try and learn how to be exactly like her, and still attempts to emulate her to this day.
