Appearance

Tall and somewhat haggard, Vaughan has the haunted look of someone who has lost much of what enthusiasm they once held for life. He rarely smiles, his default expression one of casual disinterest unless something truly captures his attention. He keeps his light brown hair short and unstyled, and his clothing is of a reasonable quality though leans heavily towards practical rather than decorative. Vaughan's eyes are a bright blue, hidden behind a perpetual, heavy-lidded squint. A small scar nicks the cheekbone below his right eye, but otherwise he appears to be in good health if not good spirits.

History

None who came through the calamity escaped unscathed, and Vaughan is no special exception. Mere moons after the events of that terrible time, he left the only home he had ever known in Gridania and retreated to the very edge of The Black Shroud to be by himself. A chance meeting with a young opportunistic thief made him realise how deeply his outlook on life had plummeted, and determined to remake himself anew, he set out on a journey with no destination in mind. Accepting the challenges and trials he faced with a kind of detached resignation.
