Personality

K'nahli is quite social and open to new people that she meets, though that is not to say she prefers larger groups. She has adopted a 'big sister' mentality towards a younger Miqo'te from her tribe known as K'mih and is content in social situations so long as she is around. She possesses a carefree attitude and a burning passion for archery, which can easily result in her feeling discontent or uncomfortable whenever she is without her bow. Being that she is older and more mature than K'mih, she is often mistaken for being the leader or 'in charge' whenever her and K'mih are together, particularly when wandering or exploring outside of the village. This is a common misconception however, as the girl tends to be dragged into various situations by her younger half-sister as a result of her eccentric and capricious personality. She display a significant degree of responsibility and maturity over K'mih, however, often seen through her occasional scoldings and dominant physical treatment, replicating the nature that one would associate with sibling rivalry. She has honed her archery skills quite effectively being that she had begun training with it from a very young age. K'nahli tends to succumb to rare, yet usually short, periods of solemnity and depression. Those closer to her may be aware of the cause but during such mood-swings she tends to behave in a very withdrawn manner and prefers having little-to-no interaction with anyone, including K'mih.

K'nahli has always dreamed of exploring the world. Having heard many tales of adventure from a young Tia who trained her in the art of archery, she developed a drive to want to make the most of her young life and create many new memories to reminisce on fondly in years to come. A significant part of her motivation came from the fact that the Tia himself was only in his mid-twenties and still had many stories to share with her every time she came along to watch him practice his archery when she was a young girl. Having come of age and therefore being old enough to make her own decisions, she is now in a position to pursue her dream. However, her close relationship with K'mih restrains her from doing so as she refuses to leave the girl behind with the tribe for fears of her well-being and has no such desire to expose her to the dangers of the world by allowing K'mih to travel with her. As a result, K'nahli has not acted on her dream and currently sees no solution to her situation.

History

Childhood

K'nahli was born somewhere within the Sagolii Desert to a Seeker of the Sun clan known as Hipparion, a tribe locally revered for their impressive and tactful hunting style and game hunting.

She had begun training with a weapon from a very young age unlike most girls within the tribe. This was not out of obligation however. It occurred when K'nahli stumbled across a young tia shooting targets with his bow a little outside of their settlement. Intrigued by his skill and accuracy with the weapon, the girl curiously lurked behind him, carefully analyzing his every moment from afar while sitting shyly in the barren land much behind him. It didn't take long for the tia to detect her presence, to which he courteously invited her to take a closer look, albeit still at a safe distance.

It didn't take long for K'nahli to notice that the young miqo'te, known as K'yhaega Tia spent most days practicing the same ritual outside of the village which, in turn, resulted in her becoming a frequent spectator of his training. As time progressed and K'nahli grew a little older, K'yhaega offered to train her how to use a bow, going as far as to even craft a specially made short bow just so that the young girl could take part. Needless to say, it took some time for a girl of her age and stature to begin using and shooting it correctly. However, K'yhaega was patient and kind in his endeavour and proved to be an exceptional teacher. The years passed and K'nahli went through many changes and assumed a variety of typical responsibilities within the tribe which included hunting lessons, spear training and simply taking care of the young and elderly on occasion. However, this did not distract from her ever-prevalent ritual as she continued practicing and going on small hunting excursions with her tia mentor whenever she had earned herself the free time.

Her mother, K'nihqa Bashir served in teaching K'nahli many important skills that would help her in the real world should she ever choose to venture from the tribe. Her mother in actual fact, had little association with the outside world in her lifetime but had been given the same advice from her family when she was younger. In addition to this and the typical training that mothers pass on to their daughters with regards to hunting, she spent many days helping train her in culinary arts so that she could provide for not only herself but for her own family whenever that day would come. A skill that would later come to be greatly appreciated by K'mih.

Adolescence

With her life becoming mildly less busy, she had acquired a substantial amount of independence and free time. Naturally, she took advantage of this and allowed herself to spent more time with her mentor who frequented solo or duo hunting sessions. Her admiration for him had only grown over the years and she had soon come to realise that she had grown somewhat infatuated with him. Regardless, she would not allow her feelings to be known for fear of ruining what she already had. She enjoyed any excuse to hunt and further train her archery skills and never turned down the chance to go with him.

This however changed shortly after her fifteenth birthday.

On this occasion, she surprisingly turned down K'yhaega's invitation to a short hunting excursion in exchange for spending some time with K'mih on her birthday. Being quite used to hunting alone on occasion, he happily proceeded for the short skirmish without her company. Many hours later, he still hadn't been seen returning to the village and come evening time K'nahli had become alarmingly worried. Paying no heed to the advice of others to have faith in the young hunter, she hurried out towards the plains in search of her mentor who she was sure had encountered some trouble. She spent a number of hours alone in the freezing desert, desperately searching for any hint of his presence. Eventually, she stumbled over something lying in the dirt, causing her to tall face first into the sand. Regaining her composure, she analyzed the object only to realise it was the corpse of K'yhaega Tia.

Blaming herself for his death, K'nahli became considerably withdrawn and introverted for a number of months as she remained unable to come to terms with her mentor's death. Following his burial, one of K'yhaega's siblings offered an emerald pendant that he had always worn to the girl, claiming that it would have been what the young tia had wanted, considering that he was very fond of the girl and had often spoken very highly of her.

K'nahli has mostly left her guilt behind her, but occasionally has mild periods of depression when she recalls the event persistently. These days she leads a typical tribal life but continues to train avidly with her bow every day.

Mother: K'nihqa Bashir

K'nihqa was born daughter to K'bashir Nuhn. She mated with K'yohko at a young age following his successful challenge against her father, K'bashir, resulting in the birth of her only child; K'nahli. K'nihqa had always held an interest in K'yohko ever since meeting him as a child. She supported his challenge for the title of nuhn against her own father which resulted in his victory. K'niqha served an important part in her daughters life, offering her training in how to hunt game as well as providing education to the best of her ability. Additionally she also trained K'nahli in her culinary abilities, much to the delight of her younger half-sister, K'mih. She continues to serve as an excellent huntress among the tribe specialising in spears and daggers.

Father: K'yohko Nuhn

K'yohko was the succeeding nuhn to K'bashir and has so far mated with three females during his status as breeding nuhn. He has had a typical amount of participation in K'nahli's adolescent life which is to be expected of most male miqo'te. He did however aid in her care when she was much younger showing respectable paternal care and upbringing towards his young daughter. K'nahli has had less and less interaction with her father as the years progressed, particularly so after the death of her mentor from whence she became very withdrawn for a period of time, but even so she still respects him as a powerful tribesmember. Her mother often spoke fondly of his efforts and actions involved in K'nahli's upbringing which tended to exceed those exercised by most nuhns. Though he spent no more time with them as one would expect, he seemed to have made it count.

Half-Sister: K'mih Yohko

K'mih is K'nahli's half sister, sharing the same nuhn as herself but having a different birth mother; K'mihgazu Thalen. Though she is not K'nahli's only half sister, she is the closest person to her and the one she holds dearest to her heart. Both miqo'tes treat each other like full-blooded siblings, sharing almost everything together. K'mih is little over a year younger than K'nahli and is often perceived as the eternally-youthful and energetic of the two. She is very social and excitable, often dragging her sister into many situations she would otherwise have no interest or business in. K'mih's relationship with K'nahli strengthened following the death of K'yhaega. Having realised that life could be unexpectedly short and end in the blink of an eye, K'nahli developed a drive to want to spend a lot of her time with her closest friend and grew somewhat over-protective of her.

Currently, K'mih is preparing for her Trial of Adulthood, where she will be expected to hunt down and kill an animal on her own without assistance from fellow tribe members. Should she prove unsuccessful, she has one other opportunity to redeem her failure. However, this would involve her temporarily leaving the Hipparion Tribe, her family, until she has completed the task assigned to her. Failure to complete this task would result in permanent rejection from the tribe, leaving her to wander Eorzea alone.

Other Notes

You might know me from

Outsiders coming into frequent contact with the Hipparion tribe may be familiar with a young, female miqo'te practing archery outside of the settlement. She tends to spend a number of hours every day doing so, resulting in her presence outside of the village not being an uncommon sight.

Members of the tribe are likely aware of K'nahli for similar reasons, being that she is a very talented archer and frequents hunting excursions and training. In addition to this, people may recognise her as the 'strict older sister' that is often accompanying a younger, pink-haired, short miqo'te known as K'mih. K'mih's playful nature is typically attention grabbing and would naturally result in K'nahli being noticed too.
