Personality
Personality
- Alus' personality could be described first and foremost as friendly and approachable, despite still being somewhat introverted and distant. He has a strong sense of justice and loyalty to common legal laws and traditional morals. On the outside he appears as the eternal optimist-- Even his enemies he wishes no true ill-will towards, and believes that anyone has the ability to be a better person, and that anyone absolutely deserve a second chance. However, Alus' thoughts on pacifism are often melancholy and somewhat pessimistic; He wishes that the life he leads could exist without any bloodshed, lamenting over his current path in life with the military Maelstrom. With the help of his brother he often manages to once again convince himself that bloodshed is necessary for an overall greater peace, but his heart wavers on the matter of pacifism quite often. It is difficult for him to accept that death is just how the world works. Overall, Alus seems to be less and less willing to kill as the moons pass, guiltily procrastinating with common hobbies.
- Alus is certainly not one to never get angry or impatient with others, but his outlook on negative social situations always end up the same after some contemplation; The past cannot be helped. Knowing what he knows now, he will aim to better work around these peoples' difficult personalities to bring the best out of them next time.
- He has an unwavering platonic love for all in the world (besides slugs), and believes that love allows everything and everyone to be perceived as beautiful in their own way.
- Alus is not completely blindly optimistic, however. He has the ability to detect a trap or a lie from an acquaintance as easily as anybody else, but simply chooses to let the liar act out their plans fully before stopping it, making sure he never punishes a suspicious person who is actually truthful. This can get Alus in a lot of trouble, but he accepts it as his sworn duty, and insists he truly does not mind this way of life.
Religious Beliefs
- Alus is a very religious person when it comes to Nald and Thal, and shows little or no interest to the other 11 dieties of The Twelve. For several moons Alus trained under the teachings of Thal's funeral preparation in memory of his fallen friends in war. Although Alus feels less associated with Nald than he does with Thal, he feels he is blessed by both halfs. As of late, Alus has been spotted praying at statues of Nald or Thal nearly every sun.
Commonly Known History
Commonly Known History
Childhood
Alus and Arc were constantly accompanied by the travelling merchant Gwenneg Beauregard, who named him as his children. Outsiders viewed the family's relationship as close and happy, though still sometimes felt badly for Gwenneg's sole responsibility over two rowdy kids. Gwenneg never once complained; he was a man who smiled big and brightly nearly all of the time, he had a corny sense of humor and passion for telling fantastic fictional stories of princes and dragons, of which the children absolutely adored.
Teenage Years
After the disappearance of Gwenneg Beauregard due to the Calamity, the brothers effectively disappeared from view. It is unknown whether they were then taken care of another set of adopted parents, or who those parents might have been. At some point it would seem the brothers seperated completely, in which time their personalities and appearances changed radically than when they were together.
Current Time
Arc and Alus are now closer as they had ever been, and with that, their personalities and visual interests have started to subtly merge again. Alus tends to show up to a lot of local parties as both a guest and a volunteer helper. Arc very rarely shows up with him for unknown reasons. Alus is a locally reknowned and appreciated goldsmith in Ul'Dah, though he is still considered average in the ranks of the highest-level goldsmiths. He can often be seen playing games in the Gold Saucer, praying to statues of Nald and Thal, and crafting in his spare time. He enjoys taking long walks without any destination in mind, of which he might occasionally be seen in unusual and even dangerous places while wearing casual wear. Alus is a registered sultansworn Paladin, and acts as an off-duty policeman, obliged to take in those he witnesses to act illegally but not actively always on patrol or duty to do so.

Template:
I used a combination of templates provided on the main page.
Most of this combination was by Xavarian Mystrife,
who used some of Bancroft Gairn's code with the tables
and Unnamed Mercenary's code for the tabs (which seemed to have broke, whoops!)
Slightly modified by Qaratolui Noyakir,
And further heavily modified by myself, DodoKing!
