First Impressions
White paint made of a hunted kedtrap and powder. Turn to her left, and you will see that she has cut a portion of her hair- her destiny. Her face is softened with youth, searching seen in her hazel eyes. Her voice is soft, as if mixing itself into the wind.
You hear it. She is alone.
Appearance
Standing at 5"7, the Hyuran woman stands tall in open spaces. White paint, made of Kedtrap serum mixed with powder, marks her face and she wears it with pride, a lasting memory of her home colony. Her softened chocolate eyes are filled with resolve as her fair skin glows lightly beneath the moonlight. Her lips are a light peach, soft with a rather light gloss. Her long raven hair falls to one side, cut on the other. With resolve, Itsu had cut her hair following a failed attempt to kill who is now her chocobo, Qin'jirah, during their first encounter as per required by her In'uljah trial. As a sign of her bond with her bird, on her head she often wears a chocobo feather: the fallen feather from her bird's first molting.
Personality
As Itsu was raised in what is now known as The Burning Wall, the girl knows very little about city life, hence she often calls people "city people." Perhaps her upbringing in Gridania was a better environment; she is very attuned to wind aether, therefore will spend as much time as she can outdoors. She gets rather unsettled indoors, especially rooms with limited space and/or without windows. "I cannot feel the wind here" is not an uncommon utterance from her mouth. She feels most at ease in wide, open outdoor spaces such as The Black Shroud.
The girl is also rather quiet. Around people she does not know, she prefers to speak very little. Much like a wallflower, she would much rather observe than speak. However, take a chance to approach her and she will be very interested in those she converses with. Itsu will speak primarily when spoken to, however as she begins to ease herself into circumstances, she will ask more than divulge. Normally Itsu would enjoy speaking about her home, Darjin, however given her missing home colony, she has spoken very little about it as of late.
Solace is found in caring for others. Itsu will always be vocal about the well-being of others, especially her wife, Yumi Hikaru, who is victim to the girl's constant nagging. Itsu is very, very, very vocal about Yumi's safety. If you ask her about the time she fell down a mine shaft literally seconds after telling Yumi to be careful you will probably evoke an extremely rare, dark piercing glare from the gentle girl. Her wife is no exception to this.
The Hyuran girl will also care for others, whether she shows it or not. This is especially for those whom have earned her wife's trust, who then receive a lesser barrage of "Please be careful" or "You don't make healing very easy, do you?".
Triggers
Brayflox's Longstop - The run down houses of the Longstop materializes Itsu's very fear: the possibility that her entire society has been slaughtered. As the huts are similar to the structures used in Darjin pre-Calamity, Itsu finds the place unnervingly similar to her now-lost home. While she has a quiet personality, she will begin to panic at the thought of her village destroyed in a similar fashion to the Longstop. It is noted during her first meeting with Xai Hikaru that if provoked enough, she will let her repressed emotions leak through, invoking sadistic tendencies.

History
Darjin
Darjin. A once small colony located in what is now called The Burning Wall. Those in poverty and the working class determined to escape the social confines of Uldah learned the ways of survival. The elders sought to keep its generations in secret, spared the harsh ways of the Thanalan rich and, even more, the dying. Stolen food and stocked belongings lasted the community for a year, a time that saw much turmoil and unrest among the group. However, the late Pipili Pilu took upon herself leadership within the colony and established the colony's laws with a band of consultants chosen from both homeless and working class. As a precaution for future survival, the Depakka and In'uljah trials were introduced for children born into the colony.
Nothing is known of what happened to the colony following The Calamity, however only remnants and painful memories are left behind. Now littered with pieces of Dalamud, what was once Darjin is now infested with Mirrorknights.
Depakka
The Depakka is the Darjin children's first hunt at the age of 6. Each child hunts a monster in Eastern Thanalan while under the supervision of their assigned hunting instructor, usually a parent or a person who has returned from their In'uljah without a chocobo foot. Females hunt one month before the males as they begin their hunting training earlier. After a successful hunt, candidates and their supervisors return to the colony with a bottle of blood or serum. After both females and males have hunted, they are all marked at the Blood Marking Ceremony, in which children's faces are painted with a mixture of powder and the collected blood by their instructors. The adults pick the colour of the markings, each colour marking a blessing or fortune that they have for their student.
In'uljah
The In'uljah is a coming of age ceremony set in place by the late Pipilu Pilu and her consultants shortly after the establishment of Darjin. At the young age of 12, children are exiled from the colony, required to survive in the wilderness on their own. They are required to bring treasures from the world back to the colony, artifacts to provide education for those preparing for the Depakka hunt. One of these required treasures is a chocobo foot, which will then be hung above the family's home to indicate to the rest of the colony that a son/daughter who is ready to be wed has returned safely from their In'uljah trial. Common practice is one who returns without a foot becomes a hunting instructor for Depakka candidates and is not allowed to marry. A person's In'uljah requires a minimum of 3 years in exile, and the longest trial is documented at 15 years.
Itsu
Born into this ignorance at the age of 6, her first hunt with the other colony girls (Depakka) brought her home a Kedtrap, which was then used to make a paint that would mark her face and position within her village. At the age of 12, Itsu began the coming-of-age ceremony, the In'uljah: an exile from her tribe that would require her to survive outside of her village for years. She would bring home treasures, resources of the world outside the cove to provide for her people.
Qin'jirah (Piidii)
Chocobos. Itsu, fascinated by the giant yellow birds, had released the chocobo she had captured. Whilst studying to become a conjurer with intentions to become the village healer in Gridania, she inquired of a chocobo at the keep, only to be met with the same bird she had nearly slain, recognized by the twig bracelet she had tied around its foot upon letting it go.
