By the time they were sixteen, the two of them wed - even if it was against her family wishes. They were young and in love. Unfortunately however, their early marriage led to an early pregnancy and Charity soon gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. They called her Kathryn, and her eyes were identical to her mothers. Her hair was as black as the midnight sky and she was destined by the household seer, to become a fair and enchanting young woman. Jealousy however, will always dwell in the hearts of other women. The young lady of the household - who Charity was sworn to protect grew envious and concerned that this child would grow to become more beautiful than she. In a dark and sinister move; when the child was only seven, she had Kathryn taken in the dead of night. The Breckenridges searched day and night for their daughter, refusing to rest and bordered on collapsing from exhaustion. After three days, they began noticing the strange behaviour of their lady, and found a door that been accidently left partially open. It led down a tower and into a dark room, where their lives would forever be turned upside down. They descended down stone stairs to find a ritual chamber, stained with blood and symbols of sacriligious sorcery. Cages lined the walls, with cowering and shivering women and girls alike, all rather fair in appearance. The pair were horrified to find their daughter lying bloodied on the altar, lifeless with her long raven hair resting over her face like a veil. Distraut at the loss of her one and only child, Charity screamed in frustration and lost herself, completely butchering anyone near the chamber she could see. In this loss of sense and mentality, something struck her on the forehead and she fell upon the ground. Having noticed his fallen wife, Vincent rushed to Charity's side only to feel that same burning sensation upon his head too. The pair fell to the floor, and before their eyes closed to meet the darkness, they saw the rough outline of their lady. | By the time they were sixteen, the two of them wed - even if it was against her family wishes. Both of their faces were branded with strange tattoo's, which they believed was something they had done drunk one night. Unknowing to them however, is that their lady had cursed them both, locking their memories of that night away. The years rolled onwards and eventually, Charity was awarded as the commanding officer of the household Knights, and given a Knighthood herself. She served faithfully for many more years to come, until the lady of the house - who the pair believed to be fair and just, was accused of heretical witchcraft, and thrown off Witchdrop. Charity and Vincent, not realising just how correct the Inquisition was in their assumption were forced to flee the house as the rest of the inhabitants were executed or questioned for their lady's heresy. |
+ | They then spent the last few years hunting down anyone who took up arms against the pure, high and lowborn alike. Inquisitor, Knight, Commoner or noble, none of them were immune to the wrath of the blade's the two carried. A pair of blades rumoured, to be forged from darkness. Any who weild them, are said to be driven deeper into the depths of the shadow, constantly hearing the voices of their darker nature. Will the Knights catch upto them and strip their titles? Only time will tell what the pair plan to do next. | ||
