A bit reserved in demeanor, he will open up to others once trust has been established, or once the bottle has been tipped in large quantities. Living a hard life riding the open ocean with family, his past is clouded at best. He enjoys life in the moment, taking it as it comes. As for the Twelve, Justus displays little regard for them, and will curse them on a regular basis. Justus loves everything about the sea, the salt air, the spray of water against his skin, and the calling of the birds among the open waves. By the sweat of his brow, he has developed a taste for finding things that are rare in nature. Taking up the pickaxe as his main way of living, he is also establishing himself as a trader of rare ores.

Justus tends to be random in his thought processes and can easily be distracted.

| − | Justus was taught at an early age how to wrench joints from sockets and snap bones with his bare hands. During childhood he had many opportunities to practice these techniques amongst his siblings and childhood friends. Some of the skills he has developed has come through his own defeats, by learning from his weaknesses. After becoming proficient in unarmed combat, he was given an axe by his uncle. His uncle drilled him mercilessly on its use, often times making him repeat the tasks in cold stinging rain. His uncle would often chastise him for his tense grip on the blade's haft, remarking "If you grip the haft like an angry tree cutter, the blade will never show you her true beauty." Heeding his uncle's advice, Justus learned to relax while swinging the axe. In time it flowed into a looser grip with the weapon. He could easily throw the weapon and hit his mark each time. The practice became a hypnotic dance at times, where his mind would drift onto the open sea, and he would lose sight of what he was actually bringing the blade to bear upon.

Constant irritating words, somehow managing to find me in the field and rubbing salt in open wounds sums it up. When I decided to let bygones be bygones, the taunts began to sting less. I realised it's who she is, and found myself thinking more often simply "Incredible." Definitely not a woman to be trifled with, discovered that the hard way by ending up with a sore jaw for days.<br />

| − | Arriving first at the port of Limsa Lominsa, I was astonished how large a city could be. I’d never seen large ports while growing up. It had always been small fishing villages or tiny ports where one can procure goods. Needless to say so began my journey. I made my first inquiry about work as a fisherman at the lower docks. I talked shop with the first mate of a nearby fishing vessel about my skills. We agreed to a wage for the type of fish they were seeking. Setting forth from the docks, we sailed about an hour into the open ocean. It was a horrible day for me. Throughout the day I had bites, but was never able to the set hook properly. I managed to only land one medium sized cod that day. From there it turned worse, when we returned to Limsa, the captain refused to pay me for my meager take. He insisted I owed him money for his troubles. Of course this didn’t sit well with me, “I told him he could rot among the carrion after a red tide.” Obviously this wasn’t taken kindly, he and his first mate made a grab at my arms. That was a mistake on their part. Breaking free from their grip, I tossed the first mate into the harbor, since the Miqo’te was not much bigger than a Lalafell. Preparing myself for the Roe captain, I heard a shrill whistle from behind on the docks. It was just my luck that the Yellow Jackets were patrolling the area. They came at me with axes drawn, and the officer had me detained. They questioned the mate, captain and me on the matter. Unluckily, being a stranger to the town, they bought the lies of known citizens. Two against one was the tale spun for the law. Angrily pleading my case in vain to the officer, it was of no use. It was then my pleading turned to cursing and spitting at them. After a sharp blow to the head from the haft of an axe, I got to spend my first night in Limsa. Too bad it wasn’t in the comfort of the Mizzenmast. Awakening to the prodding of a cell mate attempting to lift what he could from me. I grabbed his wrist and locked it firmly ready to snap it. In a not so manly yelp of pain, the Hyur man pleaded loudly to be released. This brought the Jackets back upon me. Lights out it was for me again, as the last thing seen coming at my face was a club made of wood. Finally awoken by a splash of water from a bucket, I found myself in a cramped tiny cell. Unable to think straight from the start, not to mention the splitting headache, one of the Jackets said something garbled. I think all I could muster was a stupidly sounding “Huh?” The Jacket took off with a chuckle. It had to be nearly nightfall when another came around and tossed a meager sack with some stale, hard, biscuits into the cell. I stopped her and asked “How long do I have to stay here?” Uncaringly she answered “It’s to be five days for your hooliganism.” Hells, here we go just got here and already a criminal.
