::: A'bann was born in somewhere in Thanalan, as a member of a branched out Antelope tribe. When A'bann was 10 years old, his biological father, tribe's Nuhn at the time, got killed in duel against A'tovak Tia. With A'tovak as a new Nuhn, the tribe started to run under strict rule of only the strong hunters may survive. The tribe demanded high amount of quota from each hunters every day and only those who meet or exceed it may get enough proportion of food and daily necessities. Weak, old or injured Miqo'tes were bound to starve to death eventually. A'bann had to hunt for himself at the very young age in order to survive.

:::A'bashi Tia, who was few years younger than A'bann, was one of those weak members of the community. He was born weak so had to spend most of time in bed. He could not hunt for himself and had no one to take care of him. A'bann, for some reason, took sympathy for A'bashi and doubled his quota to help him survive. A'bann just started to show up everyday at A'bashi's house and shoved him some foods and medication and left without even A'bashi can thank him properly. A'bashi always thought A'bann was a scary person but this changed A'bashi's opinion about him. They eventually got chance to sit down and talk as they started to become close. As time passed, they spent whole day together when A'bann wasn't out for hunting. (Although it was mostly A'bashi talking about books he read during the day and A'bann just listening.)

::: A'bashi maybe was weak, but he was also quick to catch up on what people were thinking. As they spend more time together he could figure out that A'bann never saw this place as a home, and wanted to get out from here one day. A'bashi felt he's the one chained A'bann in this place. He felt guilt swarming up on him. One night, A'bashi gathered enough courage to ask A'bann why he decided to help A'bashi even though he's weak and useless. A'bann simply replied that he doesn't see anything wrong with being weak, so A'tovak's method simply didn't make sense to A'bann, and that was all.

:::Other than that, if there's anything good out of the situation, the harsh environment trained A'bann into one of the top hunters of the tribe by the time he became a teenager.

:::The Nuhn of the tribe, A'tovak never liked those two boys. A'bashi was a dysfunctional burden to the tribe that needed to be get rid of in his eyes. A'bann, on the other hand, A'tovak was afraid that A'bann might kill him and take away Nuhn position once he becomes stronger, like A'tovak did to A'bann's father. Also A'bann didn't talk much, so it was hard to figure out what he was thinking, made A'tovak worry grow day by day.

:::One day, a group of Doman travelers came to tribe and asked permission to pass the tribe land. A'tovak demanded a lot in return, resulting those Doman travelers stuck in desert, not knowing what to do.

:::Although A'tovak strictly forbade tribe members to help them, it didn't stop A'bann from approach those foreigners with curiosity. The Domans were nice enough not to shoo off this curious kid. Instead they shared a story about their home, Doma. Without saying anything too detailed, they revealed themselves as members of a certain clan, and were here for a mission so they got to go back to their home in hurry to finish it. They also took pity in A'bann's situation and even asked him if he wanted them to take him to somewhere more maternal environment. A'bann felt like he could do anything to get out from the tribe for a second, but had to decline the offer since he can't possibly leave A'bashi alone. A'bann thanked them for telling him about world outside and even offering a help. In return, A'bann showed a way around so they can sneak pass the tribe land without being noticed.

:::It didn't take long time for A'tovak to find out who helped those Doman travelers. Domans leaving Itself was not a big deal, but A'tovak did not like this at all. A'bann starting to ignoring his order was a bad sign. Eventually A'tovak reached to a point of thought where he had to do something drastic to make an example out of this kid.

:::It was couple of days after Domans were gone. Thanalan's scorching sun was at the highest. A'bann had to call a day from hunting early as well, since it was fatal to even a healthy Miqo'te to go around with this heat. When A'bann got back, he noticed A'bashi was missing from his bed. It was not rare to see A'bashi take a walk once in awhile, but A'bann felt something was amiss this time. He quickly found out tribe people saw A'tovak took A'bashi on a "hunting trip" but only A'tovak came back alone. A'bann barged into A'tovak's room, demanded him to tell what have he done to A'bashi. A'tovak grinned, and simply said that there was an accident and they got separated so A'tavok came back alone, leaving A'bashi behind. A'bann growled that if he was supposed to believe that. Only answer came back was 'It can happen to you too'. It was clearly a warning.

:::A'bann quickly rode out to desert, trying to find A'bashi without any direction but only with desperation. Although A'bashi wasn't valued greatly among tribe members, he was still a member of the group. It was less likely for A'tovak get his own hands dirty. A simple rule not to murder tribe members applied to the Nuhn as well, and if there was anyone who didn't want the slightest chance be kicked out of the tribe, it was A'tovak. It might just have been a wishful thinking, but A'bann had to believe A'bashi is still alive, somewhere out there.

:::A'bann looked everywhere for A'bashi for hours, and his desperation grew. A'bann had never been so furious in his life. A'bann accepted when A'tovak killed his father and became a new Nuhn. A'bann followed those harsh tribe rules without complaining. A'bann didn't call out when there was no one helping A'bashi. A'bann muffed himself from screaming when he was patching himself every night, alone in dark, while expecting the same day happening all over again next day. All those oppressed emotion finally bursted out. He was mad at A'tovak and all those tribe people, but mostly at himself. It was all A'bann's fault for not stepping up, and A'bashi had to pay the price.

:::As time passed anger turned into fear, thinking that even if A'tovak didn't kill A'bashi himself, might have already dead from the heat, or even worse, got eaten by sand worms. To make things worse, the sun started to set. Cold in desert was another problem but it will make nearly impossible for A'bann to spot A'bashi in vast Sagoli desert without light.

:::Just about when A'bann felt his hope fade away from him, he spotted a camp with those Doman travelers from days before, getting ready to cross the desert. By the miracle, those Domans saw which way A'tovak took A'bashi and was able to direct A'bann.

:::It was still trying to find a need in the hay stack but A'bann could regain enough strength to continue the search.

:::A'bann kept on going, calling out for A'bashi until he felt like his voice cord bleeding out. Not even sound of wind responded to him. By the time when sun finally set beneath the horizon and A'bann's body finally was about to give up, he spotted something half buried in the sand.

:::It was A'bashi. Unconscious, lips dry from dehydration and mouth full of sand but most importantly, still breathing.

:::It could be only described as a pure miracle.

:::With another help from Doman travelers, A'bashi could get emergency treatment and safely come back to tribe home by mid night. A'bann sat on edge of the bed with A'bashi still lying unconscious. A'bann buried his head into his palms.

:::He finally realized there was no future for both of them as long as A'tovak stayed as a Nuhn. He had to do something.

:::A'bashi was badly dehydrated and got severe sun burns here and there, but thankfully it was something he could recover with given time. By the time A'bashi opened his eyes, A'bann made up his mind to challenge A'tovak for the Nunh position. A'bann, of course, being a leader or a breeding male didn't interest him a bit. In fact, it means he would be shackled to the tribe for a long time and that was something A'bann would avoid with his life. However, young A'bann did not have a luxury to pick and choose. Also right now the biggest concern was figuring out how to survive against A'tovak.

:::A'bann barely remembered any details from the time when previous Nunh and A'tovak fought to death, but one thing that was carved in A'bann mind, was that A'tovak was strong. A'bann lacked in both experiences and physical strength. He might had to expect losing a limb or two.

:::The first word out of his little brother's mouth, however, was a rather shocking one. Instead talking to worried A'bann, A'bashi called a tribal person and told her that he wanted to duel with the Nunh, before A'bann could put himself out there. When A'bann found out, he raised his voice against his brother first time in his life.

:::It was clearly suicidal and there was no other way to put in words, even if he was at his best condition. Dueling between a Tia and a Nunh was one of few places where murder could be forgiven and A'tovak would never let this chance go away. A'bann did not understand thoughts behind A'bashi's decision.

:::It was then, A'bashi yelled at A'bann back. Of course, A'bann does not understand this. He was not weak like A'bashi. He was not the one who got left behind in desert. He was not the one who almost died last night. He was not the one who was scared to death, alone in the desert. He was not the one who felt like an insect, leeching off from the tribe and his brother for years and years. A'bashi had to do this. It was A'bashi's fight to survive, not A'bann's.

:::A'bann could not say anything more, but only stared down at his little brother, who was almost crying and begging A'bann to let him do this, or he will never be able to forgive A'bann. Not a single time it occurred to A'bann that A'bashi would feel this way all this time. A'bann had to back out, sat outside and collected his thoughts until possibly last night for A'bashi fell in.

:::At the end, it was actually quite simple what was the right thing to do at this moment. Too bad A'bashi wouldn't see it that way. A'bann carefully picked up his favorite daggers, then walked into A'tovak's door.

:::A'bashi will never forgive A'bann, but he will live. A'bann doesn't expect to get thanked in return, but sometime in A'bashi's life, little brother will come across a day he can feel happy again, and glad he was alive. That was all A'bann wanted from A'bashi. Be happy.

:::A'bann opened the door to A'tovak's room carefully. A'tovak was sitting there, fully clothed, with a weapon on his hand.

:::He was waiting for A'bann.

:₪ Good Bye

:::As soon as A'bann walked in and looked at A'tovak, it finally came all down to him, and understood what was going on. A'tovak could get rid of A'bashi whenever he wanted, just like he did yesterday, so A'bashi was never a concern in the first place. However, A'bann was different. He was already one of top hunters within the tribe, and he will only grow stronger as he comes closer to adulthood. A'tovak wanted A'bann to come at him first, so he could justify killing A'bann while he was still young and weaker. A'bashi's life was just something he would dispose in process of doing so.

:::A'bann closed his eyes and took a deep breathe, angry at himself that he could not see this through and put A'bashi's life in danger. However, it was also clear that even if he knew all this before hand, going each other's throat with A'tovak was inevitable. A'bann grabbed knives firmly each hands, looked straight in A'tovak's eyes, slowly walked toward him. A'tovak stood up from his chair, grinned, welcomed A'bann in open arms. He was waiting for this moment.

:::A'bann remembered so little of that night. Only thing he remembered clearly was lots of hatred and desperation from both Miqo'tes. He couldn't recall how he took so many critical strokes, but was still able to stood on his own two feet and fought back, until his physical disadvantage eventually gave in. A'bann was on his knees, catching breathe while holding onto his bloody wounds. A'tovak looked down at A'bann while cursing him, as he made A'tovak lost one of his ears. It was a chance to end A'bann and finish the deed. However, A'tovak decided to take this slow as his life long obsession of being a Nunh came close to resolve.

:::That was A'tovak's critical mistake.

:::A'tovak put his weapon down and started to kick A'bann's wounds. A'bann did not give up, but held his breathe try not to lose his conscious from the pain. When A'tovak was yelling and busy pour his problems out to A'bann, he did not realize that A'bann was in reach for A'tovak's weapon on the ground. A'bann reached for it, pulled together all of strength he had left. It was a quick, and clean piece through A'tovak's torso that ended all. A'tovak backed for a few steps, then collapsed, while looking down at his wounds. He looked back at A'bann then everything went silent. A'bann and A'bashi's long time oppression was over, just like that.

:::A'bann looked back at his tribe as dawn was about to break. He was badly injured but he had to move out quick, as what he have done was a murder outside of proper protection rule of a challenge between the Nunh and a Tia. How would A'bashi react, when he found out what A'bann have done over night? A'bann shook his head and repeated himself over and over, this is for the best.

:::A'bann thought he had no where to go, but it was natural to reach again for only group of people who gave A'bann help, the Domans. It did not take long A'bann to catch up on them and asked them to take him too, wherever they were going. Domans asked A'bann if he was really ready to go to the far land away from his home. A'bann replied them that he was never at home from the start. A'bann looked back at the direction of his tribe once again, closed his eyes, then never looked back again.

Character

General

A'bann was a member of a proud Ninja clan in Doma. The clan was somewhere A'bann would call as a home, until one day they came across with a classified document which contained a list of Domans who were ready to defect to Garlean force as soon as the war breaks out. Despite the clan's best effort to make the list public, Garlean force surrounded the clan quickly and demanded them to give in the list. A'bann's clan refused and the whole clan eventually burnt to the ground. A'bann was the only one who managed to survive barely, and was able to successfully escape to Eorzea.

A'bann tried his best to find a new life in Eorzea, but what happened in Doma was too vivid to let go, as grudge and guilty shackled him. Now A'bann finds himself hunting down whoever was on the list, but also people who are responsible stopping his clan to make the list public. He will not stop until every single one on his list goes down.

Personality

- A'bann was a reticent Miqo'te from very young age. Perhaps he's like that because of all those training days from Doma, or maybe even earlier, when he had to take care of his sick brother alone while he was still tribal. Either way, it left him with very little room for self pity. He might look like a hard-to-approach-type but he does care about other people. His lack of communication skill, however, often puts him into an unwanted or misunderstood situation.

-He is very focused and professional when it comes to "dagger job", but when those battlefield qualities carry over to casual life it bound to create discord. Although he loves his newly acquired freedom as an adventurer, and he doesn't seem to quite adjust or even understand peaceful life style. For some people he might look like he's way too serious and paranoid over silly little things.

-He prefers female as a romantic partner but always seem to end up with guys so far.

-He would usually talk in very straight and short form.

-There are only few things make him lose his cool, along with Ninja comrades who were brutally murdered and his long out of reach brother.

-A'bann is usually loyal to his close friends and will be always side along with them. However, he will act on what he thinks is the best for them, not what they want and it usually leads to conflicts. Just like how he sabotaged the relationship with his brother.

Abilities and Skills

Between daggers and a gun

When A'bann was forced to hunt and make living for 2 people as a kid, his physical strength left him with narrow pool of choices and with trial and error, light and swift dagger was his best fit. A'bann can now wield them as if they are his own limbs after long time practice and extended training as a ninja. However, after what happened in Doma, seems reluctant to use them anymore unless he's doing stealth job. Wielding daggers just brings back too many memories for him.
It was a great timing that A'bann picked up on marksmanship skill when he was visiting Ishgard instead. A'bann wouldn't really consider himself as a fully dedicated machinist, but his long time trained dexterous skill transferred well with handling sensitive mechanical equipment and now it's one of few things A'bann can sink his time into while have his mind off complicated matters.

Relationships

Family

A'bashi Tia (Little brother, Alive?, NPC) (Miqo'te, Seeker of the Sun)
A'bashi is not actually blood related to A'bann, but no doubt they treated each other as their own kin, on early point of their lives. A'bann never went back to his tribe to see A'bashi even after he came back to Eorzea so it is not clear how A'bashi managed after A'bann was gone. A'bann mostly has good memories with A'bashi, but when A'bann thinks back now, perhaps their relationship was not healthy from the start as A'bashi's guilt was rotting away deep down under.
Example Name (Relationship, Deseaced) (Race, Clan)
Description of Kinship

Friends

Eiai Airi (Friend, Alive, PC) (Au Ra, Xaela+Raen)
After saying good bye to Mia, A'bann doubted that he can reconnect with people again. Eiai proved he was wrong. Her high spirited personality was enough to keep A'bann's mind away from troubling memories. Thankfully A'bann was able to provide a home Eiai needed at the moment and they quickly built friendly bond between them. Now Eiai remains one of his closest friend, and every time when A'bann looks at her it made him feel like maybe, just maybe, A'bann has a chance to live a quiet life someday.
Mia Olkund (Friend, Alive, PC) (Au Ra, Xaela)
When A'bann first arrived at Eorzea, he was a giant mess. Both emotionally and physically, and also financially. Mia took A'bann in and helped him every way so he can adjust to the casual life style...so he doesn't starve to death, or end up in a jail. It took long enough, but at least now A'bann knows when a girl approaches him with blush on her face, he knows this person is less likely to be a Garlean assassin. After teaching A'bann how to craft so he can make living for himself, Mia decided to leave Eorzea to seek out more opportunities to make money. He hasn't come back since but A'bann knows he's doing just fine somewhere out there.
Raiden Kaminari (Friend, Unknown, NPC) (Au Ra, Raen)
Former lord from A'bann's ninja clan. He was young, and may appeared to have light-hearted and even silly personality. However, he was also a charismatic leader and he had amazing gift of see through people. When A'bann first met him, they did not start off in a good relationship, but eventually Kaminari became one of the most significant person in A'bann's life.

Neutral/Wary

A'tovak Nunh (ex-Nunh, Deseaced) (Miqo'te, Seeker of the Sun)
Now an adult A'bann thinks back about A'tovak, it was surprising how A'tovak was paranoid over kids who were barely teenagers. Of course, the tribe had earlier age line of adulthood but A'bann still felt like there were something more behind how A'tovak being overly cautious towards A'bann and A'bashi. Then A'bann remembered that someone in tribe told him once that A'bann's father and A'tovak was very close, as a mentor and a student. A'bann could only conclude maybe, when A'tovak killed A'bann's father for the Nuhn position, he traumatized himself by doing that and felt guilty ever since then. Maybe A'tovak himself thought he will never be as great as previous Nuhn, resulting overly defensive attitude about his authority. In any case, A'bann's hate for A'tovak was long gone now, but only pity and regret remains. A'bann still wonders if he could do something different back in time.

((OOC NOTE: These are mostly written more in a sense of beneficial notes for the writer, as it contains large amount of background stories of the character. Well, which means Spoiler Alert! Also contains a violent scene, so please read with caution.))
