Maral is a martial arts specialist hailing from one of the branches of the nomadic Oronir clan. She was born on the continent of Othard somewhere in the Azim Steppes. She migrated to Eorzea six cycles prior and settled in Ul'dah for a time to improve her pugilist skills. Her deceptively petite body hides a powerful form. Maral has currently been accepted into the Turuk Bairon clan, and is now known as Maral Bairon.

Appearance & Personality

Standing taller than the average Xaelean woman at 5'2, Maral boasts a strong body despite her petite frame due to hard and intense training. Fluffy, dark brown hair has been cut in layers and is laced with natural orange highlights. Midnight scales are scattered along bark brown skin, which save for her scarred and calloused hands, feet and shins is smooth and well taken care of. She wears only a little gloss on her full lips and a bit of eye shadow, but otherwise doesn't bother with makeup. For clothing Maral prefers anything that she feels flatters her figure, or that is loose and would do well for her in a spar. She is proud of her body, and has no qualms about displaying it, being of the belief that all beings are blessings of Azim, and therefore are perfect and beautiful.

Childhood

Born in the Oronir clan, Maral grew up with her twin sister Xailaee. A brash and outgoing youth, she often skipped out on lessons and clan teachings to play and explore. Unless it had to do with training, hunting, or animal husbandry, she was usually uninterested. This has led to Maral having a general lack of understanding about other clans, relationships, customs, traditions, and Xaelan history.

Xailaee eventually left the clan on her own to seek out her sister and they met recently, but she returned to Othard to take care of some inter-clan strife. She did manage to tell Maral the real reason for why she had her leave, and the two sisters spent some brief time together catching up before she returned. Xailaee was the more studious of the two and had more common sense than her somewhat tunnel vision/oblivious younger twin. Unlike Maral who used her fists, Xailaee took to the blades. CLANMATES ●♥ Algun Bairon - Chief of the Turuk Bairon, and someone Maral looks up to and admires. She joined the clan when it was still a small encampment in the Shroud and she was just trying to find a sense of community among her fellow kin. Algun began to trust Maral and open up to her regarding his ideals, his vison for the future of the Xaela, and his ambitions. These things were what drew in Maral's now unwavering loyalty to him, as she wishes for him to succeed. She does, however, realize he cannot do this alone, and so through Algun and the Turuk Bairon, Maral has found her new path in life: To be Algun, and the clan's strength. She sees him as a father, brother, and mentor figure. ●♥ Tentan Bairon - Ekhner of the Turuk Bairon, Maral met Tentan at a hidden camp when shortly after her exile from the Sarandtuu. Tentan originally hails from the Qalli and still keeps her heartsong close. Maral admires Tentan's inner strength and was elated when they became clan sisters. While Maral has few immunities to Tentan's teasing, she takes it all in good fun and enjoys spending time with her. It is Maral's hope she learns more about the heart from watching Tentan. ●Natigai Mol - Shaman of the Turuk Bairon, although Maral is not as acquainted with Natigai as she would like to be, she enjoys being in Nati's presence and finds her comfortable to be around. She is currently healing Gilawafe Archimtirios from a condition Maral doesn't quite understand. FRIENDS & ASSOCIATES ●♥Naranbaatar Dotharl - This one came into the encampment one day following Natigai, and she told the clan he had saved her once. Maral finds him to be an unorthodox Dotharl, but every Dotharl she's officially(note: officially) met has been this way. At first she thought she would have to throw him out of the encampment when he teased Natigai so much she became incredibly unhappy and she had to soothe the gentle shaman. He seems to have eased up on Natigai, however, although they are still at each other's throats. She has sparred with him and lost, however, although through that they have become friends, which has made her happy. ●♥Voren Mox - A Xaelan bounty hunter who came across their encampment and eventually stuck around hoping to find work. She likes Voren's easy going nature, and a spar with him revealed a degree of battlelust akin to her own. She finds this, and him intriguing, and would like to become friends with him. ●Choban Kha - A Xaelan bartender she met on the docks of the Mist near the HA-RP house. They had a brief chat and she thought that'd be the end of it. They met again when he approached the Turuk Bairon encampment seeking her out. They had a spar and began to get to know one another. A few days later, after another spar and spending time together, he expressed romantic interest in her. While Maral does not understand love and struggles with understanding such things, she accepted his proposal. After a moon Maral eventually became unhappy and restless without knowing why, and after a few talks with Choban eventually decided she was not ready for a relationship, or whatever her poor understanding of that was. She prefers the freedom to persue her desires and interests when and as she wishes without having to be concerned of betraying another. ●Maria Zolts - Maral met this highlander five years ago when she first came to Eorzea. Maria was a completely different woman back then, but it was because of her that Maral and some of her people avoided a series of unfortunate circumstances. Although it had simply been a job for Maria, to Maral it was a debt that she will never be able to repay. She looks up to and admires Maria, and wants the older woman to find happiness. ●♥ Arik Mierqid - A Xaela blacksmith Maral met in Limsa Lominsa. He was kind and charming, and after a brief exchange they ended up having a one night stand. Maral has recently met up with him again and they have become friends. OTHERS
