[edit] Details Personality Relationships Rumors Gallery Music OOC Notes GENERAL INFORMATION Avidia goe Iuvenlis is an Imperial Frumentarius in the Imperial Army. Namely, she is a Primus Frumentarius. Avidia has been a soldier for the entirety of her adult life, and even some before that. Considered a prodigy by her mentors and superiors, she has created quite a name and reputation for herself, one she enjoys quite immensely. Having ascended through the ranks quickly, she has also earned a nickname for herself. Most people in the military would know her as this, rather than her real name: The White Wolf. It's a moniker that suits her extremely well: from her attitude, to her regalia, to her ruthlessness, and even to her appearance. Before that she went by Snow White, and members of the Frumentarius - or the Academy, when she was a part of it - might know her better as that. APPEARANCE Avidia is an excellent portrayal of Garlean attributes in some senses; in others - namely her stature - she is not. Despite being quite muscular and fit, she is, unfortunately, very short for a Pureblood. She stands at only five fulm four ilms, at least half a fulm below the average height for her race and gender. While her height might not be very impressive, she makes up for it in the way she carries herself. One would be a fool to dismiss her based on her height alone. Not only does she cut an intimidating figure with her constant glare and rigid soldier's posture, but those who are close to her know that she can back up any of her threats with considerable physical skill. While being petite, when her clothes are removed one can see with ease what years of training and combat have done to her body. She is almost all muscle, coiled up tight like a cat waiting to spring. She is naturally pale, and does not seem the type to tan from time spent in the sun, but rather burns instead. Her hair is incredibly soft and thick, requiring a significant amount of time spent to tame it in the morning. Its natural color is snow white, and under certain light - like sunlight - it seems to reflect rainbows, almost like a prism. Similar to her hair, her eyes are devoid of color, rather being a light silver color. Face/Voice Claim: Scarlett Johansson Aspects That Stand Out: ¦ Avidia has several scars. One is across the bridge of her nose, very thin and small. The more noticeable one is the ones on her back, however: whip marks from torture, carefully arranged in the shape of wings, showing that whoever tortured her took their sweet time. She also has burn scars on her knees, where her legs cut off, but those are fading. ¦ Avidia has a very noticeable lack of legs from the knees down. While they were blown off, careful surgery evened out the jagged wounds on her legs. She now uses magitek limbs, and incredibly beautiful ones: they are carefully crafted, made of a sleek white metal. ¦ She, of course, has the Garlean third eye on her forehead, the same silver color as her other eyes. She usually hides this, however, either with makeup and prosthetics (when she's putting in effort) or with her bangs (when she doesn't care). PERSONALITY When one meets Avidia when she's on duty, one might be greeted with a charming, outgoing Midlander girl. One who has quite the skill and interest in conversation. She speaks incredibly easily, and garners up friendships as if they were cheap drinks she was purchasing at a bar. But the reality of Avidia is, sadly, quite different. That would be her spy persona they meet: The one she puts on when she's undercover. Instead of all that, Avidia in reality is rude, aloof, apathetic, and stern. While she can be incredibly loyal and kind to those she is close to, it is INCREDIBLY hard to get into her inner circle. She prefers to keep people at a distance, for her own protection: her walls are thicker than bloody Baelsar's Wall. Despite her cold and unfriendly demeanor, she is still very competent in the fields that she specializes in, and often times people will withstand her personality in exchange for what she can offer to them. L I K E S ¦ Wolves and Dogs. This is an easy one. Avidia likes them, and they like her. While she doesn't get along with most animals, canines are the exception. For some reason she just has a very deep connection to them. ¦ Alcohol. Avidia isn't what you'd call an alcoholic. Maybe a 'situational alcoholic', but she's not necessarily addicted. This doesn't stop her from heavily enjoying it, however, and her tolerance makes it all the better. ¦ Her "inner circle". While she's incredibly closed off to people she doesn't count as her "friend", for those who have earned the honor of that title she is incredibly loyal to them. In fact, there's not really anything she likes more than her friends. Not that she would ever admit it. ¦ Well crafted weapons. Avidia has a deep admiration for elegant, high-quality weapons. ¦ Music. Maybe thios is a guilty pleasure, but Avidia really genuinely enjoys music, far more than she'd admit. She loves to immerse herself in it, and it's not a rare sight to see her dancing in private. ¦ Sweets. Another guilty pleasure. She has quite the sweet tooth, brought on by Septima showering her with the things when she was a child. D I S L I K E S ¦ Eorzeans/Ala Mhigans'. Is Avidia a racist? ... Maybe. Although that is a strong word. What is known is that she harbors a great dislike for the "savages". ¦ Ignorance. Higher up on the list: Willful ignorance. ¦ Shitty parents. Yeah, she won't admit it, but her skin crawls whenever she sees someone treating their children badly. ¦ Fire. This is better classified as a phobia than a dislike. It's self-explanatory. ¦ Pregnancy. Again, a phobia. It makes her skin crawl. H O B B I E S ¦ Drawing. Namely, with charcoal. ¦ Dancing. When Avidia was younger, Fabius would play music for her that she would danec to. The hobby has stuck. ¦ Caring for her weapons. Honestly, this is more of a habit than a hobby, but she's engraved it into herself. S T R E N G T H S ¦ Athleticism. Avidia is a pureblood, but more importantly she is a soldier. Her athleticism knows no rival in common civilians, or even athletes. Only those who have lived a life on the frontlines can relate to it. ¦ Magitek (Combat). I shall preface this with: Avidia's knowledge of magitek in general is fairly weak, for an Imperial. But she is very skilled in using it in combat. Not only does she use her legs, but she also uses several magitek tools that she has become quite accustomed to. ¦ Lying. Avidia is a VERY good liar. She was trained for years in the arts of acting in order to become a skilled spy. ¦ Head vs. Heart. In the VAST majority of cases (note: there are exceptions) Avidia is very good at separating what her head wants with what her heart is telling her. W E A K N E S S E S ¦ Phobias. Avidia doesn't fear much, but what she does practically cripples her. Unless she's steeled herself beforehand, or is on Rampage, her phobias will have a major effect on her. See Dislikes for a full list of phobias. ¦ Stubborn. Sometimes Avidia will make the wrong choice, or do things the hard way, just because someone thinks she can't. She's very headstrong, almost to a fault. ¦ Aether, or lack thereof. Avidia is a pureblood. Therefore she is completely shit at aether, can't manipulate it, and is pretty unknowledgeable about it as well. ¦ Fear of Abandonment. This is completely on a different level from her regular phobias. Avidia once shut down entirely when her mother figure was presumed dead. She does NOT handle abandonment, or percieved abandonment, well. This is easily her greatest weakness. M O T I V A T I O N S ¦ The Empire' - Avidia's loyalty to the Empire is unwavering. While she may question some of their methods, her allegiance lies with them and bettering them to the best she can. ¦ Unification' - Her motivations from the Empire, taken a step further: Avidia truly believes that a unified world is the only way to survive against the rocky, murky waters of the Unknown, and she will stand by this belief to the very end. ¦ Self-Improvement' - Avidia is a perfectionist at heart. Anytime she isn't working for the Empire, she's doing things very carefully and pre-meditated in a way that will allow her to better herself. Even when on a job, she always seeks how to do it best. Decima Balventius is Avidia's birth mother, however their relationship is incredibly complicated. Decima gave Avidia up when she was just a baby, and Avidia only discovered the truth behind her mother recently. Until then she's thought her parents had died in the battles against the Ala Mhigans. While Decima seems to be trying her best, as shitty as her best might be, Avidia's too conflicted on it to accept Decima's advances. ???, biological father. ( ? ? ) Character's Thoughts: "I don't know his identity. I don't think I even want to." Avidia's father is a complete unknown. Even Decima won't talk about him. All Avidia knows is Decima slept with him while on a "break" with her husband, but that's it. She doesn't know his race, if he was Imperial, his name, or anything. Septima Valesius, adoptive mother. ( ? ? ? ) - Title. Character's Thoughts: "She was the greatest woman I have ever known. Not a day goes by that I do not miss her." After years on the streets, Avidia ended up under Septima's roof as a child. While Septima was immediately warm and welcoming, stepping right into her role as Avidia's new mother, Avidia took a long time warming up to her: well over half a year. However, when she did, the two of them shared a bond that rivals very little. Aetius Valesius, older brother. ( ? ? ) - The Steel Hound. Character's Thoughts: "He's a giant idiot. But... I'm still fond of him." Avidia first met Aetius on the streets, and it was through him that she was welcomed into his family. When the block she lived in burned down, Aetius was there to take her in, and he has been there for her ever since. Fabius Balventius, older brother. ( ? ) - The Little Birdy. Character's Thoughts: *Silence.* Avidia and Fabius first met each other in the Academy. While initially they were romantically involved, that eventually died out as they found themselves drifting apart. Upon the reveal that they were, in fact, related they immediately cut off any hint of a romantic relationship between each other, and instead dove into a platonic, familial one. NON-FAMILY Rhel'ir Tayuun, best friend. ( ? ? ? ? ) - The Black Lynx. Character's Thoughts: "He's fucking stupid, but at the same time... deserving of pity. I would chose nobody else to be closer to me." While Avidia and Rhel started off on rocky footing - she beat him near to death, he punched her in the face - after many, many months of being forced to work with each other and get to know one another, they quickly fell into a steady friendship that grew even higher. To this day they share an incredibly tight bond, formed tighter by the aether that they both share, allowing them a very, very mild form of empathy with each other. Do they sleep together? Yes. Sometimes. When the throes of loneliness are too painful to ignore. But are they in love? Absolutely not. Dawn Flaresong. ( $ ? ) - The Burning Wyrm. Character's Thoughts: "She'd be wise to turn tail should I ever come across her." Dawn and Avidia used to be on good terms! They did! They shared an almost sisterly relationship, and their combat abilities and professional abilities were extremely in-tune with each other. Unfortunately, as a result of a horrific act of mind control, Dawn ended up blowing off Avidia's legs. Avidia hasn't seen her since. Ever since then, she's habored a slowly growing hatred for the woman, one she nurses desperately, as if she needs it. Isuke Ejinn. ( ? ? ) Character's Thoughts: "She's cute. She's kind of weak. And I'm so very fond of her." Despite being younger than Avidia, Isuke practically mothers the Pureblood. Formerly Avidia's assistant/servant, by the behest of Decima, nowadays Avidia and Isuke share a far better friendship. Isuke has saved Avidia's life, and Avidia strives to do the same should Isuke ever need it. Olivia Mysyrn. ( ? ? ) Character's Thoughts: "She's a cute little thing. I feel bad for her, but at the same time I understand what she's going through." Avidia and Olivia enjoy a casual friendship. Or they did, until Olivia dragged Avidia to an Allagan facility full of untold horrors, in which Avidia got to witness the full extent of Olivia's Tragic Backstory(tm). Every since then their friendship has... deepened. Unsurprisingly. Quincy Vatesh. ( $ ? ? ) - The Bloody Jackal. Character's Thoughts: "The truest wife." Quincy is Avidia's personal magitek engineer, having created her legs, and still maintaining them to this day. Despite that professional relationship, they also enjoy a wonderful friendship. While they don't get to converse often, whenever they do they always leave happier than they were before. Zheng Diremite. ( $ ) Character's Thoughts: "He's fine. OOC NOTES ? OOC INFORMATION Player Note Hi! First of all: Thank you for taking the time to read my RPC page! ^^ It really means a lot! Avidia's a character I've been rping for about 2 years now, since Heavensward was launched. She started as an NPC villian for a small part of an ongoing plotline, but eventually she grew into what she is now. What this means is Avidia is very much a villian character. That was her original design, and while her personality has changed a little bit since then, it's still something I will stay very true to. On the bright side, it means that if you need a villian for a plotline you can go ahead and ask! PC antagonists can often bring a lot to any RP, so I'm happy to provide that! You might also notice her personality tab is a little bit thin. This doesn't mean that Avidia is a shallow character, but rather it's simply because I have a difficult time describing all the nuances of a character's personality when asked to. There's a lot more to her, and hopefully you'll be able to discover all that through RP. If you have any questions that weren't answered somewhere in this RPC, please feel free to ask about them! Another good thing to note is that, while Avidia may be a Garlean, she's primarily undercover whilst in Eorzea. She poses as a Doman for most of it, but if somebody calls her out on being a Pureblood her story will switch to that of "a defector in hiding, trying to stay out of the eyes of the Empire". She has fake papers forged by the Adders to support this. However, I'd like to keep the Garlean RP out of any public RP, like the Quicksand or Grindstone. Typically I keep the Garlean plot devices reserved for certain groups, or - obviously - for an event requiring her Garlean status. If you aren't sure whether you can delve into that, just ask! Personal RP Limits I don't have a whole lot of RP Limits, but those I do have are worth mentioning. Please note that while I list M/RP in my search info, this doesn't mean it extends to ERP. Also, please note that even though I say I'm fine with dark themes, anything that could be considered "semi-permanent" (i.e. mutilation, kidnapping, etc) I'd like you to ask about. I'm okay with RPing that stuff if it's communicated clearly and carefully OOCly beforehand! What I'm NOT okay with is you creating a plot to kidnap and torture my character WITHOUT asking me, and then expecting me to paly along with it. I will most likely blacklist you if you do that. ¦ I will play: Almost everything that can be covered by an "M/RP" tag. This includes dark themes, torture, violence, drugs, kidnapping, horror, and many more. I'm not a very squeamish person - at least not with fiction - so pretty much anything is fine with me. Basically anything you might find in an episode of Game of Thrones (minus any sexual aspects) I'm okay with! I'm also down for either casual RP or plot RP, and the length of that plot doesn't matter! If I'm already involved in super plotty RP I might turn it down, but I absolutely love RP with big stories so the chances of me turning it down are pretty slim. I'm willing to RP Avidia as either a protagonist (usually for Garlean affairs) or an antagonist, but some thing to remember is she was designed as a villian, so if you want her on the protagonist's side you should know that she is most definitely not a goody-two-shoes hero. She's pretty cruel (not unnecessarily cruel and sadistic, however) and very much an ends justify the means character, so do with that what you will. ¦ I won't play: ERP. That's just a hard no. I won't do it and you might as well not even ask because the answer will always, ALWAYS be no. Sorry, but it's just not my thing. It's fine to have Avidia sleep with someone, but if that happens it will be fade to black, and I am VERY particular to who she sleeps with due to her personality. Also, like I said up above, I don't like to RP Garlean stuff in public. If you want to RP a plot where your character finds out she's a Garlean and confronts her, I'm ALL for that, but please ask ahead of time. She'll do almost anything if you pay her, so her attending events as hired muscle is very much possible! ¦ Avidia is a former Grindstone champion; recognizing her as one is a great way to approach her if you can't think of any other way too! ¦ Avidia has some voidy shit going on. It's not a major thing at all, but anyone who can "sense" voidsent can probably sense a LITTLE bit of it on her. ¦ [IMPERIALS] Avidia is an Imperial operative. More precisely, she is a Primus Frumentarii, or senior Frumentarii officer. She operates as both a spy and a combatant, and either solo or as part of a group - which she usually heads, due to her rank. If you RP a Frumentarii, recruiting her for a mission is very much possible. ¦ [IMPERIALS] A bit of an extention to the above, Avidia is a senior Frumentarii officer. If you RP a new Frumentarii, enlisting her as a sort of mentor is possible! ¦ [IMPERIALS] Avidia was well-known in Garlemald as the White Wolf, and also - to Frumentarii - as Snow White. She made quite a name for herself as a prodigy, so if your character has heard of her they can use that as plot leverage. ¦ [IMPERIALS] Avidia is currently part of the Fustuarium, a classified squadron made primarily of Frumentarii, that hunts down defectors. While she isn't the leader (nor am I, OOCly), if you rp a defector and are interested in being hunted I can very much pass it on to the leaders. ¦ [IMPERIALS] She is also a member of the Balventius family, a family known for rising to riches out of nothing, so if your character is familiar with them she can act as a sort of representative of them. ¦ Finally, Avidia is just... very competent. Especially in battle. If she has any skills that could be of use to a plotline, let me know and we can work something out! Character Lore Adherence Avidia 100% adheres to the lore of FFXIV. I have played this game for over 3 years, watched every cutscene, and own the lore book. I have taken great steps to ensure that Avidia is as realistic a character in this setting as I can make her. I've RP'd her for a long time, and through that she's taken part in many plots, some of which have left a lasting mark on her (i.e. the voidsent thing), but everytime this has happened I have always made sure to make it adhere to lore completely, and if anything happens to her that won't I typically retcon it or work through it with my RP partner. ¦ No changes required.
