She doesn't discuss the details at length with most people.All anyone knows is that she suffered grief along with the rest of Eorzea. However, Emeline turned this grief around and made a vow that she would do anything in her power to make sure no one else felt the same grief.

She left Gridania and went to Limsa Lominsa, finding herself at the door of the Arcanists guild, clutching enough gil to purchase a novices tome. The fledgling Arcanist did well in her studies, finding herself comfortable with arcanima and devouring the books in the library.
