Kiki Nibshe is currently a freelance apothecary and traveler of little note or accomplishment. Though she hesitates to call herself an adventurer, she lives an effectively identical lifestyle. With no real home to return to or a purpose to devote herself to, she is generally found aimlessly wandering the realm, offering her services primarily to small isolated communities of Eorzea which might otherwise be unable to afford a magical healer. While she is no doubt passionate about her work, the nature of her clientele means that she is often left scrounging for every bit of spare gil she can find. She is therefore on the constant lookout for a more stable position from which to employ her skills.

History

Kiki came from humble beginnings in one of the more spartan neighborhoods of Limsa Lominsa. There was little remarkable about her early childhood. Her parents were simple fishermen and while money was always tight it was never desperately needed. Left with plenty of free time on her hands, Kiki soon made a habit out of loitering near the The Drowing Wench, eavesdropping in upon the variety of characters who passed through her doors. She soon became infatuated with tales of the outside world, and longed to move beyond her roots and to see the entirety of the world from the deck of a ship.

Her dreams of becoming a great adventurer seemed answered when she was accepted into the Arcanist guild. She passed her initial lessons with flying colors. However, as she was pushed beyond simple spells, her performance began to falter. She struggled to grasp any semblance of control over her spell casting and, after repeated failures, was eventually kicked from the guild.

Depressed and dejected, Kiki still found herself unable to return to her ordinary life. Instead, she sold everything she owned, packed her bags, and hopped off the first ship out of Lominsa, desperately hoping that this time she might find some meaning in the world. Sadly, with few skills to her name, she spend most nights hungry and homeless. She was caught on the edge of death; if hunger didn't kill her then it seemed that disease would. It was a stroke of luck that she found the fortune of running into a kind soul to take pity upon her. While wandering the darkened streets of Gridania, she made acquaintance of an aging man of simple appearance. He offered her lodgings for the night, and though her pride wished otherwise, she found herself with no other option but to accept. What started as a single night, soon stretched into a week, with her benefactor unable to kick her out in good conscience. Still unsatisfied with charity, Kiki made sure to repay him by offering to aid in every way that she could in his business of gathering and selling herbs.

She ended up remaining as his apprentice for the next couple years of her life until she became proficient in the art of herbal healing. However, while her life as an apprentice was far cushier than the time she spent wandering Eorzea, the need to glimpse foreign stars still gnawed at her. Thus she moved on once more. Now wiser and more skilled, she saw greater success than her first foray into the wide world. Money and lodgings were still difficult to come by, but this time around she had skills she could use to get by in the face of it. She employed her knowledge of herbal healing wherever it was needed, and soon found her calling in life tending to those who needed medical attention the most, but could never hope to afford it. Her quest brought her to the refugee camps of Ul'dah to the slums of Ishgard and all manner of havens of misery that lay between them. Yet despite all of this, Kiki is simply satisfied to finally have an inkling of purpose in this world.

Kiki Nibshe now stands upon the edge of maturity. While the travels of her youth have brought her far and wide, through many ups and downs, she comes to a point where she must seek a greater purpose. Ever hungry for a new adventure, Kiki looks forward to what new horizons must bring.
