Draknipur is an ancient relic that Tola obtained in his distant past that has taken the appearance of a sword with the ability to blink between places at will and speak. Typically, the sword minds its business and stays at Tola side, however. Tola has a deep and somewhat unbelievable past. Because of the severity of the events that have happened and his new place in the universe; He is aware such stories could be considered insane. Because of that, he acts and responds as if he's been living on Hydaelyn his entire life, when the reality of things is hes only been here a little over a year. Aspects That Stand Out: ■ Tola seems confident but is very conservative. He keeps to himself unless needed. ■ Tola is quick to help those in need; Whether it be training, physical labor or any cause that helps a grand idea. ■ Draknipur knows to remain quiet in public; And usually remembers - However sometimes the ancient sword forgets when around something that it finds interesting and speaks up. PERSONALITY Tola is kind, but secludes himself to protect others from the involvements he has and a has had. If approached he would treat you as a new friend until proven you aren't such; And he is quick to jump to aid those who need his help. He is a straight male, but he finds it hard to grow attached physically and romantically so sexual desires are rare for him unless he has somehow opened up to a person. He has a lot of knowledge of another world, but is still learning the ways of Hydaelyn; Which means some things he is completely oblivious of, which can get him in trouble. Technique/Weapons Tola has the potential to use very strong blue magic; But since coming to Hydaelyn again has found that he is aether suppressed and hasn't been able to do so as of yet. He will also need to relearn those abilities and his physical combat techniques were lost when returning. Because of this currently his main style of combat is physical; Mostly fists, punching, kicking, and using his weapon sheathed as a rod of sorts. ✦ Weapon: Draknipur: The trickster within the blade was once sealed into it by mistake and has since found companionship in Tola. Tola used to wield the weapon on his own, but since coming to Hydaelyn his conscious has been reset and will need to reprove himself to Draknipur before the swords great power is wield-able by him. Despite not seeing him as worthy of holding his power yet; Draknipur has grown fond of Tola and wishes to stay with him whether Tola likes it or not. Until he proves himself worthy, Tola can only use the weapon as a rod of sorts; Being unable to draw the weapon from the sheathe - The blade of which is what channels the great power within. Because of Draknipurs strange ability to port around; Tola has found it effective as a sort of boomerang as of lately. Draknipur has a slight jealous streak also; Meaning anytime Tola tries to use another weapon the ancient will instead blink in the place of it and teleport the attempted weapon away from Tolas use. Weapons of Choice ■ Shortsword ■ Fists and Legs OOC information for YOU Below is useful tidbits should you ever be interested in trying to attack/spar with Tola. ■ Grindstone Rules: I generally go by the Grindstone rules for fighting in game; And also like to use a similar system when attacking or attacked. Essentially both players /roll, and if the attackers roll is higher they win a hit. First to 3 hits wins. (using ingame /random rolls) ■ Fantasy Fighting: Tolas class and abilities aren't of FFXIV, which means you'll need to be okay with a sense of imagination if fighting with Tola. But lets be honest, if you got this far you've already accepted a talking sword, amiright? ■ Strong Opponent: Tola is a strong fighter but he is by far unbeatable. He is weak compared to his former self and recognizes that he needs to lose a few fights to get better. Because of this, he won't be a sore loser or winner if it goes either way! ■ Steadfast!: Don't be surprised if at the end of the fight Tola walks your attacks off! Hes very fit and hard to topple fully; But i'm not against him getting hurt for real but we need to discuss it first. Old-History/Vana'diel ~These events happened in RP but aren't 100% canon if you aren't okay with it. As mentioned a few pages back, Tola understands these events to be insanity and doesn't mention them; Only to those who find out where he is from or those he trusts and knows already knows.~ ✦ Age 12: Tolas parents went missing. Unsure where they went, he was moved into his Uncles residence where they found he had a knack for learning and picking up tricks and skills. ✦ Age 14: Tola happened upon a secret meeting between his Uncle and more of an order by the name of "The Immortals"; A secret group of mages whos purpose was to defend and work for the Empress. Curious about what it was about he approached his Uncle and after a conversation and a test realized that Tola too had his own magic abilities. ✦ Age 18:Catching on quicker than anyone had before, Tola had grown into a powerful blue mage; Finding himself closer to the organization his uncle was part of. Eager to prove himself; He asked for an audience with the leader of this group to prove his skill. After a long fight Tola was defeated and turned away, being told he wasn't enough to join The Immortals. Angry and hurt that he had been rejected; Tola spent time on his own in the wilderness to commune with the magic of the land. He took refuge in a nearby cave; Finding deep within it a secret hotspring that had healing and empowering abilities. He bathed in the spring at least once a day; Honing his abilities in secret with a focus some might call obsessive and insane. ✦ Age 19:A swarm of dangerous, multiplying birds had started attacking villages near Tolas hometown; Tearing them down completely and leaving noone alive. Finally the swarm had made its way to his town; Only to meet them in his path. Despite protest the mage challenged the swarm to fight; Surprising everyone by copying their multiplicative ability after only seeing it once; Creating an army enough to defend against and slay the razor beaked fiends. Word got to the city and Tola was called back to the castle; To receive honor for his accomplishment and redemption in the form of acceptance into the grand order of The Immortals. Here he continued to hone his abilities; Making sure to continue his trips to the secret hotspring that he had found near his home. ✦ Age 21: 2 years had passed since his acceptance, yet Tola continued to rise in rank. Despite what it looked like, he hadn't been seeking fame or political power; He only seeked to be the strongest; To have the strength to defend everyone. His uncle had grown jealous of his quickly gained power; And had hired other mages to assassinate the young spellcaster. They were outmatched; Even with number odds on their side as Tola struck them down one by one. Leaving his uncle alive he spared him enough to have him sent to prison for the rest of his life. ✦ Age 24: Members of The Immortals had began to turn up missing; And the remainder had found that it was an attempt to get at the Empress by taking out their strongest fighters first. A group of warriors from a rival continent found a way into the castle and had set to assassinate the Empress. Defending her to their last breath the members of Tolas faction were cut down one by one. He had been at the hotspring at the time; Responding late to the call for help. He made it to the Empress' chamber to see her cut down; Slaying all of the intruders in anger at the sight. Palace guard caught up, assuming the bloodbath was Tolas doing but a servant had hidden away behind a curtain and explained that Tola had got there after the Empress was killed, only to kill all of the intruders on sight. The people knew of his power, and after hearing about his anger and grief for the Empress was appointed the new Emperor. Tola declined his new role, but eventually accepted after realizing the good he could do in charge of everything he was trying to protect. ✦ Age 26: Two years in power and the empire had only grown. Tola, embracing his new role but never forgetting what got him there stood in in every fight his empire fought; Helping them push further out and grow even bigger. He rebuilt the order of The Immortals, filling it with personally chosen fighters to defend his empire. He appointed trusted adviser who had shown to be a friend, and every decision Tola had to make he made alongside this friend. ✦ Age 27: Wondering the markets one morning Tola catches a glimpse of his future wife, Elise. He follows her a while, eventually approaching her, curious that he had never seen her before. They quickly grew close and a romance budded powerful and fast. They married 9 months after they met; Which is when Tola asked Elise to rule at his side. ✦ Age 28: A great and terrible beast appeared randomly one day; Threatening to destroy the empire Tola worked hard to build. Toppling mountains and destroying everything in its path, the King Behemoth was a threat that only Tola could face. A long and deadly fought roared for hours; Finally ending with Tola killing the behemoth and absorbing its life force for himself. The power turned his hair and pupils white; Granting him new power. Bloodsoaked, he made one final trip to the hotspring he believed brought him all of his success; Only to find the water drained and at the center a sword shoved deep within draining the water as it rushed in. Grabbing hold; The trickster spirit within, Draknipur, took over Tolas body for a moment to be forced into the depths of his consciousness. Every memory and feeling Tola had ever felt had been searched; Showing his worth. Intrigued, the spirit offered Tola his power if he could come with Tola on his adventures to see the world. Tola accepted and their bond was made. ✦ Age 28: Tolas appointed advisor, Marcum, had grown jealous of his power and relationship with his wife Elise. Plotting with other Immortals, they succeeded in quietly invading his living quarters; Opening a portal to the void and throwing him into it. Before the portal closed, Tola could see blood on the floor; Sending him into a panic as the darkness of the void took over his mind. over 1000 years passed in the void - Tola had disguised himself as a powerful voidsent and through nonstop fighting and contests was considered a high tier voidsent champion. Diabolos noticed his rise and kept tabs on him; Making sure to keep tabs on him every move that he made. Eventually; Tola was yanked out of the void and abducted into the body of Bryte Darklyt; An action that caused the death of her then husband. Because he was housed inside of her, his power and voidsent aether empowered her and gave her new abilities which helped her learn quickly and conquer any challenge she faced. Eventually escaping his entrapment; The residual void aether he had stored was dangerous she he went around fighting nasty creatures named Primals to drain and regain a normal sense of aether. He had planned to use the primals power to jump realms, but instead used it to save the life of Pheli Nosuk; A seeker he believed to be part Mithra who had helped him on his journey. It took Draknipur a few months but the ancient was finally able to break through the realm to Tola and join him on his journey. ✦ Age 28: Tolas new powers were incredible but he longed to get back to his realm and save his wife. Elise was all that he had on his mind, though he interfered in a few mortal affairs his goal remained the same. This interference led him to a pirate crew; Where he met Ayla - The spitting image of Elise. Through her dreams he showed Ayla his life and his hurt; Hoping to gain an ally in his cause to get back home to her. He undoubtedly felt an attraction to her, but her connection to her husband and the thought of Elise kept him from losing focus of his goal. Eventually, he grew impatient of waiting and took advantage of an opportunity to jump into the void and sought out Diabolos; Who wasn't at all surprised to learn of who he was. Leaving Draknipur behind with Ayla, Tola knew Diabolos wanted the ancient so to take that off the table he wouldn't have him when they met. They made a trade for Tolas Behemoth spirit instead; In which Diabolos helped Tola return home to his time moments after being thrust into the void; Killing his betrayers in one fell swoop as they lept at his wife - Their blood was what he saw in the beginning when he was first thrown into the void. The loss of his power and the jump in time and realm took a tole on him; And he eventually succumb to the aether sickness that ended up turning him to stone. Rebirth/Current story. ✦ Rebirth: The gods of his world took pity on his deeds for the realm; Granting him a second chance at life with a new purpose. They also recognized the danger he put every realm in giving Diabolos more power; So they granted him new life on Hydaelyn in order to fix his mistake. He was restored to his former self; Losing the white tint from his hair and eyes as he was thrust onto the plane into a crater with no memories, no abilities, and no clothes. This is where he met Kraze, who led him back to Pheli, which again led him to Ayla. OOC NOTES OOC INFORMATION Player Note I have a very clear distinction when it comes to OOC/IC. They must remain separate at all times if we are to RP together, especially on an extended basis and I reserve the right to end interactions should this be impeded upon. I've been burnt heavily by people mistaking IC care and OOC friendship and attention with romantic regard and honestly I don't wish to go through another such debacle once more. If my character dislikes yours that does not mean I hold the same sentiment. If my character loves yours that does not translate to me feeling the same for you, though I might feel a platonic equivalent. I am not my characters and they are not me. Respect this and we shall get along famously. Personal RP Limits I don't have very many hardcore limits honestly as I feel consequences must be adhered to when RPing any character regardless of whom they might be. However there are a few exceptions to this and they are as follows. ■ I will play Almost anything that isn't described below. ■ I won't play Death, Rape, Maiming, ERP only Plots. I don't mind romance but it needs to be earned and respected. Do not try and force your character on to mine. If I feel this is the case I will quickly end the RP and speak with you OOCly to either correct the issue or end the RP connection between the two in a faithful manner both parties can agree upon. Disclaimer Little Tidbits. ■ If you're ever uncomfortable, tell me! I don't bite! I can get pretty into RPing out consequences however and while I do my best to make sure permission is had and everyone is comfortable I'm not perfect. If you have a problem speak up. ■ This is a broad statement for all my characters, but I have a hard limit of at least two months before I'll allow my character to enter a relationship. A good friend mentioned their own rule regarding this and I greatly respected the idea of it, so I'll be putting it into practice myself. I've been burned far too many times by hasty RP relationships and want to make it clear from the get go so there is no misunderstanding. If your character is trying to romance my own, be prepared for it to take awhile.
