Appearance & Personality

Despite being of utterly average height and equally average weight for his people, Kheiri'to is nonetheless a striking individual. His skin and hair are both a handsome black, the latter being dark enough to show blue highlights in the right light. He usually keeps his hair mid-length and braided, a few strands always escaping to artfully cover one eye or the other, usually precisely when he wants them to, and once or twice he's been known to tease someone with confusion over what color his eyes actually are: blue or yellow. Both answers are true, of course; his left eye is sky blue and the right, bright yellow.

Kheiri'to is already past his thirtieth summer, and yet still has the smooth skin and masculine beauty of a man half his age... and he knows it, although that doesn't mean to say he's given to flaunting himself or his... assets. Far better, says he, to tempt with what might be under the wrapping, than to bare it all and ruin the mystery. As such, he's fond of light and flowing fabrics that allow artful gestures and freedom of movement while staying practical enough for a life on the road.

The cut of a man's clothes often gives away the cut of his personality as well, and Kheiri'to is no exception; he is an easy-going, adaptable sort, slow to anger and quick to forgive. He finds joy in many things and music in almost all, and it's rare to find him not creating it, be it singing, humming, or even composing impromptu melodies on bits of scratch paper. The Keeper also loves, laughs, and makes friends easily, charming his way through life and usually managing to avoid trouble... although his silver tongue has gotten quite good at getting him out of any sticky situations he does end up in.

Biography

Childhood

Kheiri'to had an entirely unremarkable childhood, except maybe for the fact that he was born one half of a set of identical twins. He and his brother, Kheiri'a, were born smack dab in the middle, with two older sisters on one side and three younger on the other. Suffice it to say, it didn't take long for the twins to be grateful they had each other.

Some Keeper families can be entirely dismissive or worse of their male children, but luckily for Kheiri'a and Kheiri'to, theirs wasn't one of them. Even their father stuck around until the twins were almost twelve. It was as close to an idyllic childhood as any young Keeper could ask for.

Teenage

Male Keeper children are expected to leave home once they come of age, traditionally to become nomadic loners, drifting from place to place, occasionally stopping to father a few children of their own with one or more Keeper matriarchs. Kheiri'to was perfectly happy to fulfill the first part of that tradition... not so much the second. He most certainly took to wandering, but his travels took him far beyond the piece of the forest where he grew up, and eventually out of the Twelveswood altogether. He's still sometimes wistful that his twin never had the same sort of wanderlust.

Adulthood

Even as a child, Kheiri'to had always had an interest in music, and a talent for both singing and instruments, and after leaving home he turned it into his full time profession. He calls himself a minstrel, but there are some who would argue he has more in common with the bards of ages past, considering his knack for bow and song both. Regardless of what anyone calls him, his various talents have served him well over the past twenty-odd years, keeping him clothed, fed, comfortable, and in one piece as he makes his winding way back and forth across Eorzea.

Present

Currently, Kheiri'to is back to wandering the length and breadth of Eorzea, although this time it's in the company of his lover, A'shev Mhalikh.
