When not working, or wasting time, Leih trains to become a dragoon. Being a former slave, she spends a lot of her time keeping an eye on refugees and war orphans to protect them from those who would prey on their misfortune. She is often accompanied by either her hoarhound, Zwei, or a nutkin named Ao. Though gentle and friendly to most people, she can be quite aggressive if needed, with no qualms on using force against those who will bring harm to innocent people. Having being raised by an Ishgardian Dragoon, Leih has a high sense of honor and duty. Since being adopted by Angeal Vespyn, Leih has taken his name and introduces herself as Leih Vespyn. APPEARANCE Leih is short and petite, with a boyish frame. Even for a Miqo'te, she is shorter than average due malnutrition during her early teens. Leih has extremely pale skin, riddled with dark burn scars and marks from the chains she was held by as a slave on her neck, wrists and ankles. For some reason, despite living in the desert, she has never truly tanned much, nor does she get sunburned. She has medium length hair, sometimes kept up in a messy bun. When she keeps it down, she usually braids a part of her hair to hold it back and away from her eyes. She has a left red eye and a right green eye. Her green eye is clearly partially blind, possibly due the serious burn damage on the right side of her face and body. Aspects That Stand Out: ■ Leih is ambidextrous, which is noticeable from the scars on her hands. ■ She speaks with a heavy Ishgardian accent. ■ She keeps blue highlights in honor of her deceased adoptive brother, Atheloux Drelliere. PERSONALITY Leih is for the most part a happy go-lucky girl. She always seems to be in a good mood and have energy. More often than not she tries to get along with most, if not all, people and does not seem to have much of hate in her. This facade is more of a shield to hide her actual feelings, lack of confidence, and low self-esteem. The more happy she seems, the most likely she is scared or nervous about something. Out of being bullied for most of her life, even a small act of kindness tends to cause a great impression on her. Leih is actually most of the time scared and has little confidence in her skills. The trauma of the Calamity, followed by her exploitation as a slave left many scars in her mind. Though most have healed, the deeper ones still cause her to panic. The main one of these is her reactions to death, even the death of an enemy. Despite her desire to become a dragoon, she has difficulty accepting the death of others, regardless of them being friends or foes. She tends to plea for their lives and freezes in panic if a person is killed in front of her. Leih also has a much darker side that only comes out when her fears take over. She becomes almost numb of the situation around her and attacks without any control. The few times this has happened she has killed multiple people, though she has little to no knowledge of the events. She has a temper, which often leads her to speak without thinking. Most of the time in this situation, her words are hollow. A common one if her saying she 'hates' someone. In truth, the Miqo'te has no proper concept of hate. It's an emotion she simply never developed. Hidden away from most people, and only noticeable by those who are perceptive, are clear signs of trauma due bullying. This is more evident when speaking of her childhood or her race (half-Seeker/half-Keeper). L I K E S ■ Dragons. Leih has always seemed to have a fondness for Dragon-kin, even before the end of the Dragonsong War. Why she does is anyone's guess, considering she was raised by an Ishgardian. ■ Wolves. Her favorite animals, Leih seems to have a special soft spot for them. She does like any animal, wolves just get a special place. ■ Cake. She is addicted. Not more to say. ■ Friends and Family. The line between friends and family is really blurry, depending on the case, and Leih is extremely loyal to all those she becomes even the slightest fond of. D I S L I K E S ■ Slavery'. Leih spent five years in chains and saw many horrors through slavery. She hates the idea of someone controlling people's life. ■ Killing. Even killing for justice is not really justice to her. Killing in her eyes is always the same: murder. ■ Thunder. Amusingly, Leih is rather adept at using Levin and Wind magic, while she is also deeply terrified of thunder. H O B B I E S ■ Sing.Leih has a sweet voice and enjoys singing. She is slightly shy and won't sing just for anyone. ■ Annoy Aerin. Who doesn't like annoying their favorite white-haired swordman? S T R E N G T H S ■ Kindness. Leih is extremely kind, and willing to help others no matter the situation. She also seems unable to hold a grudge for more than a few hours, if even. ■ Courage. Despite her constant fear, when those she love are in danger, Leih is willing to put even her life in the line to save those she love. W E A K N E S S E S ■ Lack of Common Sense. She is not good at reading situations properly. Especially when it comes to her safety. ■ Fears. Leih has many fears and sometimes they take hold of her. ■ Inexperience. She is young, naive, and lives in a very unforgiving world. Her experience in life is near zero. You made me who I am." Atheloux took Leih in as a toddler, raising her until his death during the Fall of Dalamud. The two were very close, with Atheloux being one of the few who show Leih kindness and love during her childhood. As a young adult, Leih idolizes her brother, even though she is slowly discovering he hid many secrets relating to her biological family. Soriale Nulham, Birth Mother. ( ♥✝ ) - Sky Blue Eyes. Character's Thoughts: " I can't remember her... Sometimes, when it's really late at night and there aren't any sounds around, I think I hear her voice. I know it's crazy. If I really try, all I see is a pair of blue eyes. The color of the sky I love so much." Leih's mother died when she was very young, making it near impossible for Leih to remember much. The little she has, even if it is not true, is that vision of blue eyes and a sweet tune hummed by a kind voice.
